I'm still wondering why amazon.ca says it's being released in March still! Perhaps in Canada we'll get it early??? Or maybe they are just slow at updating :)

I'm starting to appreciate Utada as a songwriter more and more :o

The lyrics of Dirty desire that say "I'm thinking 6 to 9" can be interpreted in a lot of ways, like someone (sorry but I forgot who) understood the lyrics first as "sex tonight", it can be interpreted as a pose (no need to make a drawing heh ^^; ) , it can be seen as a mention to a time-spending. I like the references like the one to full metal jacket and the overall feel of the songs (yes I love Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence - FYI a lot too ^^ )

Other artists lyrics, like Britneys music don't have that many layers and well-overthought lyrics.
What someone said about Utada not liking to wear skirts because she felt it as people were thinking she was a prostitue, the lyrics of Easy Breezy make much more sense to me now.
Everytime I learn something new about Utada, her work overall gains deeper meaning for me.
I love being fan of an artists that's smart in so many ways.

Btw especially Dirty Desire reminds of Britney work.. Can't help, but it really feels like that to me, and I mean it as a compliment.
This music will really help her making it in the US and A (Borat was on tv last night XD )

Edit: Luv, I think you might download the leak since you're intending to buy the album anyway huh?
Lieke was right when she mentioned that it was like pre-listening an album in a music store ^^
Hence, nobody buys albums that they don't like, ne?

I really hated Exodus when first it was out... I keep listening to it thinking "why did they do with my favorite songwriter T-T"... A friend of mine that had a hikki fansite (the site is down and my friend passed away some years ago) asked me to translate the album (even if my writing English is far from being the best, I think I'm pretty good into translating from English to Portuguese). So, when I started the translation process, I saw how complex the lyrics were... Some parts could be read in 2, 3 ways and of all them made sence with the rest of the song! There were so much irony and so many inteligent references and word games... It took me 3 days with the help of 2 friends (I didn't want to miss anything, so I could make the lyrics justice). When it was all done, I couldn't help... I was in love with the album^^ And then I took a look at some of her japanese lyrics, and then I understood that many of then was much more than plain love songs...

I really think Hikki is the best songwriter pop music have this days

that CD is kinda plain and simple. is it really the real CD? :shrug hopefully the album will leak soon then, lol.

Merry Christmas and Dirty Desire are not bad...i like the melody and the feel of the song..

Queen Bee 8th March 2009 06:30 PM

So I finally watched Come Back To Me and I have to say I really like the music video but I'm really not liking the song. I'm not sure what it is about it but I just can't seem to get into it. I did however really REALLY like Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence - FYI, Apple And Cinnamon, and Dirty Desire (I really didn't like the line 'Me Love You Long Time' but it's just one line so it's nothing to dwell on for me) just from the previews. They are a little sexual but that's okay, everyone needs to let go every one and a while. on the other hand I really did not Taking My Money Back. I started to laugh a little at the title and when I actually heard I laughed a little harder. I personally don't feel the song flows very well from what I heard in the preview. As for the cover I personally don't like it and I do see a few things wrong with it but I won't give my critique about it unless anyone wants me to since some people thought I was being negative about NEXT LEVEL by just giving my professional critique about the cover.

dreamland2.0 8th March 2009 06:49 PM

I really love the preview of Apple and Cinnamon! Taking my money back is okay - haha at the lyrics again :)
This album sounds very promising!!!

amorphose 8th March 2009 07:13 PM

I'm feeling Dirty Desire and FYI more than Taking My Money Back or A&C. I like them all though. I REALLY wanna hear Automatic Part II! I hope it starts out like the old school Automatic. That'd be an orgasm. XD

Sundae 8th March 2009 07:14 PM

Well, Apple and Cinnamon sounds promising. Taking My Money Back sounded normal. Nothing really jumped out at me this time. Still love FYI.

njanjayrp 8th March 2009 07:21 PM

A&C is ok, a bit repetative for me. I find Taking My Money back boring. All the songs so far seem to have a similar beat and come down to repeating lines in the chorus. Where did the creativity go?

So far A&C and FYI sound like something I would listen to.

Luv ~Venus~ 8th March 2009 07:55 PM

Taking My Money Back >>>>>>> Apple and Cinnamon

I love both previews but TMMB was more of an attention grabber than A&C plus I love the melod/beat. I'm surprised nobody mentioned the line where she said "the sex was so good." :rolleyes So I'm gonna expect no whinning if we hear another "wild" line from her. :yes

Queen Bee 8th March 2009 07:58 PM

^ the thing is I don't find it to be too wild for a US release.

[kokoro♥] 8th March 2009 08:05 PM

@Luv; Yes plz, girlie! I can make hawt sets if I can make HQ caps XD

no wonder she felt it was too easy to write A&C; its the same words over and over!

and TMMB made me lol xD;

I like FYI and Dirty Desire sound quite a bit better [personal opinion]

Polyrhythm 8th March 2009 08:12 PM

Japanese release with the little OBI strip:

[kokoro♥] 8th March 2009 08:17 PM

^If its a bootleg with all the full songs let them release it...

OMG I totally agree... TMMB is so R&B, but I bet a lot of her American fans don't have any interest in that sort of stuff (except a few like us :laugh). But I love it so much. It sounds so much like "One In A Million" by Aaliyah, actually, especially the drum beat.

Amrai-chan 8th March 2009 11:25 PM

Out of the new previews I liked Taking My Money Back.

I remember when people first started talking about Apple and Cinnamon. I was thinking "This song should be good!" But the preview is kind of 'meh' so I hope the full song is better.

jbrat2219 8th March 2009 11:29 PM

Are the other previews on her official website?
