I don't like smokers either (I don't hate them! I'd just rather they didn't smoke). Maybe it's because my relatives smoke ALL the time... I can't stand the smell!

Well, I'm going to be among the few that says who cares if she smokes? :P But if she's trying to stop, good for her. :) She must know what a disgusting habit it can become...

Smoking does mess around with your voice. Her voice is a lot more deeper now than it was when she debuted. I always assumed it was due to her crazy schedule so she couldn't rest her voice like she should. Smoking would contribute to that.

but since she quit it... no point of having a debate here~

I'm sure Ayu has had her fair share of cigarettes.
whether or not she does them currently, nobody will really know except the people who know her personally in her day-to-day life.

However, I would think that Ayu is really focusing hard on improving her voice's quality (or at least keep it intact), especially since the 13 yen drop in the avex market ever since the news of her ear.

I can tell a huge difference in her lives recently, she sounds very similar to the song recording, not like she is "wingin' it," like she used to (RAINBOW era)

I wouldn't be surprised if Ayu drank anywhere from ten to one hundred times as often as she smokes. Or if she dropped acid from time to time, or rolled ecstasy or hell, smoked pot.

there are pictures of her somoking, somewhere from my story era, so it's pretty much confirmed... she drinks too. but as far as I know she tries to do it less often. what's wrong with smoking or drinking a toast from time to time?

In the real world, people do things that are bad for health but FEEL good.

Just because she smoked in that instant doesn't mean its a habit, right? I mean, a lot of people just have a smoke once in a while, I'm assuming more so in Japan cause so many people there smoke. I wouldn't really care if she did though.

Doesn't Koda Kumi smoke? That might explain her slightly husky voice though. It suits her though, her voice, its sexy.

Then she should stop. To be honest, I don't think she's a habitual smoker to get to the point it would really mess up her voice. Celebrities who smoke habitually often are caught smoking more than once or twice.

So she really did smoke? That's no biggy,,, but at least she stopped :yes (Gah! So many of my fav artists smoke, it's not cool!)
