A lot of Ayus Singles charted behind top 40 in 2005/2006. Yes, in Japan the single sales getting worser every year, but not as strong as the world wide market value decreases. And mediatraffic sayed that without all the Michael Jackson albums, the global album sales would have fallen to a new all-time low.

^ did g/f, D/G, and R/S really chart less than S/S in the first week? or am i reading that wrong?

ストロボ・EdGE 26th August 2009 03:55 AM

I'm not trying to be negative but is that actually any good? #28? I mean, out of all the albums that have gone on sale...

JinHamasaki 26th August 2009 03:58 AM

United World Charts is EXTREMELY biased towards Western artists, because they can actually tally up sales WORLWIDE for them. Whereas Ayu's market is ASIA, there are no physical numbers for any country besides Japan that they can count.

So, it's really difficult!

That makes sense ( :yes ). Not only does the USA have a larger population, thus more sales, but it also has global appeal making it easier to get higher positions.

So I guess #28 is pretty good for a Japanese artist.

Hahaha. That's great!

Thanks for the info!

Yup! Twenty-eight is a very good position for an Asian artist. :)

they base their chart on local charts... And I don't think that any Asian country where Ayu is popular besides Japan has one...
