thats what I was thinking! lol

the trend of 4567890759 interludes needs to be broken.
I don't think it will because she stated how she liked the transitions in NEXT LEVEL. I'm so scared :(

i actually like the interludes and i wouldn't mind them as much if she just stuck one or two more full length songs on there.

It's easy to get lost in the numbers, yet everyone who has ever listened to STEP you should be able to count to 4 :rolleyes

The hate for interludes is really unnecessary.. It's not like if there wasn't interludes there would be "real" songs in their place. Interludes just make the other songs into a well-flowing whole imo. Plus I personally love most of her interludes... Music doesn't have to last for over 3 mins or have vocals to be great. :yes

Amen to that, sista'

Most of her interludes are literaly quite amazing, like Kaleidoscope, Takinst, Labyrinth, The Judgement Day etc

njanjayrp 5th March 2010 04:22 PM

^ indeed, even though I generally prefer the ones with the vocals like not yet, Mirror, Catcher in the Light, reBIRTH and Bridge to the sky as they are fun to sing a long.

I think the problem is not with interludes itself.. but the fact that for having interludes there's less FULL songs.. I'm oke with interludes... But I don't want to have only 6-7 new songs... 8-9 would be the best +4 from singles 13+3 (intro+2 inter) 16...

a standard japanese album is about 12 songs right? it's like a trick: oh! there's 13 tracks!, but no!, 3 are interludes so in reality are 10... that's the problem...

freedreamer 5th March 2010 04:45 PM

PHAIL. 14 tracks

NL IMO had her best transitions, they worked perfectly well, all of them.

I agree with this except Pieces of SEVEN -> Days. It didn't work at ALL. (though I <3 Pieces of SEVEN, it's one of my favorite interludes)

sorry... but it seems like I'm not really clever and I don't see my mistake... LOL

noidea 5th March 2010 05:45 PM

^ If Ayu decides to not do interludes that does NOT mean we get full songs instead, it means we get the same number of full songs but less interludes in between, it only shortens the album and worsens the flow in the end.

LOVE 'n' HATE - Pieces of SEVEN - Days was the best part of all the album, the transition didn't work musically, but it wasn't supposed to work, these 3 songs tell a story, might be the story of her past relationship(the number 7 is very prominent in the first two songs and the Days music video as a time where something bad happens/something changes completely(...-6-7-zero in LnH, when counting the different parts of PoS you will notice that towards 7 it get's noisier(more and more problems in a relationship), in Days PV she dreams of a perfect day waking up at 6 and lives a horrible day waking up at 8(something bad happens inbetween, at seven)), her relationship with Nagase lasted 7 years and ended suddenly and both full songs talk about relationships that are impossible(for whatever reasons)) or some completely different story, but they do, because the full songs tell exactly the same from a different point of view and are obviously linked with their meanings

njanjayrp 5th March 2010 05:52 PM

^ agreed. Pieces of SEVEN is one of the best and the messiest (in a positive way) transitions, I loved it~

^
^but what I mean is what I said after that sentence.. if they talk about an album of 14 songs, they are lying with Ayu...

when for UNIVERSE (koda) they said, hey, it's coming a 15 track new album, and we GOT 14 full song album+1intro with lyrics. For Past<future, they said, hey.. it's coming a 12 track album, we got 12 FULL songs...

with ayu they say: you'll get a 14 track album, and we get 11 full songs...

that's what I'm saying...

noidea 5th March 2010 06:07 PM

They are songs, per definition they even are full songs, it's just many people don't seem to understand just what a song is so they expect ~4-5 minute songs with vocals, I don't care, I think her interludes at times are better than her long songs, TJD beats glitter every day.
There are albums with more than 20 songs, just some are only a few seconds in lenght, yet they are song so calling GUILTY a 10 or 11 song album would be totally wrong.

aura~ 5th March 2010 06:16 PM

^yeah I know, I love her interludes, I like them, but I would like a 14 full songs and then 3 interludes hehe Now we just expect it.. but with GUILTY it was a BIG shock I think, Secret still was OK... but 3 interlude with intro was too much for a 14 track album XD
