Since Oricon will include anything that sold in 2007, here's what I got

Ayu
Secret: 170,825
A BEST: 2,935
A BEST 2 (combined): 1,306,911
(m)u LIVE: 8,268
Total: 1,488,939

Kuu
Pre 2007 releases that lapped onto the 2007 Oricon year*: 104,350
Black Cherry: 984,753
~BOUNCE~: 241,077
BUT/Aishou: 103,696
~second session~ LIVE: 76,434
Total: 1,510,310

* includes Yume no Uta/~first things~ CD/~second session~ CD/~first things~ DVD/Cherry Girl.

So they pretty much sold the same amount so far in 2007.

Lee_Hamasaki 4th April 2007 02:49 PM

ok but u can't count ALL sales of Bc and only 20% of Secret...

where is the sense in that?
secret 170 and black cherry 976?

black cherry released the 20th of december, not in 2007..
so bc approximately sold 400k in 2007

I think the Oricon year starts berfore the 1st of Jan.

Now to something completely different. I will continue to get extreme pleasure from looking at the sales of A BEST 2 individually and BEST ~BL~

Now I can't wait to see Namie and Utadas upcoming album sales, I hope they do so good which will most likely happen.

hiroshi_ben 4th April 2007 04:53 PM

u had miscounted some of ayu sales...secret and (miss)understood arena tour won't sell so low..

Peger 4th April 2007 05:35 PM

Oricon began the year with the 12/13 week, so Secret's first two weeks aren't counted in.

njanjayrp 4th April 2007 08:45 PM

well, it woul donly be fair to count the total sales of Secret, and to be honest Ku had more releases. So when u put it like this, Ayu's still selling just fine.

DerrickRocks 4th April 2007 08:56 PM

ahhhhh?!!!leave kuu out of this focus on Ayu's sales. one is not better than the other come on now! i thought you guys stopped this..Ayu was banned from being talked about in the kuu thread... because it upsets alot of people. i love them both why can't fans co exist...

Peger 4th April 2007 09:00 PM

If people were more mature, there wouldn't be a need for a ban. I guess some people just can't resist starting innane fights over artists.

ayumisrael 4th April 2007 09:02 PM

A BEST 2 sales are doing great ^_^

ayu_fan929 4th April 2007 09:21 PM

I don't see why people think it's "unfair" since...

^ people are trying to upset ayu fans either it be intentionally or unintentionally. Everyone has different taste in music. Its nature people dont hate ayu as a person or kuu i hope. They just dont like their music...

truehappiness 5th April 2007 12:58 AM

You know, shouldn't any talk of Koda be banned from the Ayumi Hamasaki forums section of this forum? :|

I mean, it's not like there's any real reason for her to ever bring her up in an Ayu news thread..

[I'm just being real here. :<]

..:Hot:Like:Wow:.. 5th April 2007 01:01 AM

^ Very True, should be banned 110%

ayu_fan929 5th April 2007 01:36 AM

But didn't you say it was inevitable?

Peger 5th April 2007 02:42 AM

The problem is, people should be mature enough to compare sales between two artists without everything turning into a flame war. I don't understand why Kuu is the one coming under attack all the time anyway. At least she and Ayu are on the same label; Ayaka's new album outsold Secret by a lot yet no one's complaining about her.

Ayaka deserves to sell that much.

That's all opinion though. Personally, i felt Ayaka's album was bland and relied entirely on her voice. She has a great one, sure, but a good album takes more than that. An hour of power ballads that sound the same doesn't deserve to hit a million, imo.

Tasked 5th April 2007 08:42 AM

Ayu's really gonna fall of the charts soon; but at least it's awesome that it's still IN the charts now.. Almost all of the albums that are in the top20 are quite new releases..

WillofDusk 5th April 2007 09:08 AM

Combine her shipped n sold copies we've got more than 3mi, that's really something.
She's still far beyond the very top artist of Japan.

Yeah, that's the point.

Stop it from being inevitable by stopping it altogether. :|
