Plans for the 2008 Tour are alive and kicking, A MadonnaTribe First

MadonnaTribe have received some updated info about the 2008 Tour that Madonna and her team have been working on since they were touring with the "Confessions" show last year - and that this site reported about first right after the last concert in Japan in September 2006.

From what we hear, the 2008 Tour project is alive and kicking - the time span they are working on at the moment to set tentative dates and arrange deals with the venues is basically the one of a Summer tour.
But - as the aim is to bring the tour to as many countries as possible - they are working on a scheme which includes a reduced number of concerts to take place in a single city, focusing on those who offer the best performance from a production/cost/ticketing point of view, and obviously the word "stadiums" comes to mind.

Also, there is a chance that we'll have to deal with itineraries significantly different from the ones of Madonna's two most recent tours - meaning that there's a chance that the tour will start in Europe this time around and not in California like Reinvention and Confessions did.

From what we hear plans to celebrate Madonna's 50 year birthday with a special event are still going on, although it is not sure if the much talked about Central Park concert in New York City will happen.
It also seems that the "birthday concert" is being taken in consideration for TV broadcasting and DVD recording this time again, like it happened with the Confessions Tour.

Plans are still yet to be final so we have to take all of the above with a grain of salt as things can change significantly in the next months, but the thing that excites us the most is to learn that - as of today - the tour celebrating Madonna's 25 Years in music business is a go!

YES YES YES! WE HAVE A TOUR LADIES & GENTLEMEN!

Guy Ritchie Breaks Silence Over Adoption

Guy Ritchie has spoken for the first time about his and Madonna's adoption of Malawian baby David Banda.

The film director said the two-year-old had become "part of the family" and put paid to rumours that the upheaval caused by bringing a child into their family had put a strain on their marriage.

Ritchie, 39, said today: "We haven't talked about the adoption for ages - he's part of us.

"It was only in the first month when the adoption was going through. Since then we have all been getting on with our lives and it hasn't been mentioned. That's par for the course. He's part of the family."

Madonna has two other children, Lourdes, 10, and her and Ritchie's son, Rocco, seven.

Both are said to have fully accepted David and Lourdes has even learned to speak to him in his native language, Chichewa.

The couple are set to appear before Malawi's high court next month for a review of their 18-month temporary adoption order of David.

They expect to learn that they have won the right to formally adopt him as Malawi's chief social welfare officer Simon Chisale has written a glowing report after spending three days with the family at their Marylebone home.

But while Ritchie, whose next film RocknRolla is due out next year, insisted he and Madonna, 49, were very happily married, he did admit to not particularly liking his wife's pop hits.

He added: "To be honest, I'm not really into pop music. That's just not my scene - I'm more into Irish folk songs.

"I'm sorry if everyone is shocked I'm not into her music."
:) Wonderful news!

I need your guys' help! The crazy ho is at it again, and this time it's not Mooriah! :laugh On X Factor Celine Dion claimed to be the biggest selling female of all time. We need to stop this and protect our queen's reputation. According to the International Phonographic Association, Madonna has sold 100 million MORE albums than Celine, and approximately 80 million more singles.

If you don't have time to compose a new email, please copy and paste the email below, type "Formal Complaint X Factor Celine Dion" and email dutyoffice@itv.com AND claire.telford@channeltvlondon.co.uk to make them retract the Celine Dion lie.

FORMAL COMPLAINT - X FACTOR CELINE DION

Dear Sirs,

On X Factor, 27th October 2007, you broadcast that Celine Dion is the Biggest Selling Female Artist of All Time.

This is in fact untrue.

According to the Guinness Book of Records, and International Phonographic Association, MADONNA is the biggest selling female artist of all time. To be specific - according to registered sales, Madonna has sold 100 million MORE albums than Celine, and approx 80 million more singles.

Your statement was completely factually inaccurate and it would appear a retraction is necessary on the next episode of X Factor. Lies such as this damage the credibility of the station and programme.

Yours faithfully,

Your Name

I love Celine. I guess that was dumb of her to wrongly make a statement like that, but if she wants to say it, oh well.

I doubt Madge will have another mega-huge border-crossing single like Hung Up. That just seemed like a fluke!

Vinylfantasy 28th October 2007 11:40 PM

This tracklist was posted Madonna Fanzine but it's probably fake. It's for the 3 CD best of remixes.

Madonna - Hollywood (Blow Up Mix)
Madonna - Get Together (S-Man's Fired Up Remix)
Madonna - American Life (Layo & Bushwaka Mix)
Madonna - Sorry (Martijn Ten Velden Remix)
Madonna - Jump (Stephan Grondin Stereo Mix)
Madonna - Forbidden Love (Peter Rauhofer Forbidden Club)
Madonna - Love Profusion (John Creamer & Stephane K Remix)
Madonna - Future Lovers (Peter Rauhofer Reconstruction)
Madonna - Hung Up (Ralphi Rosario Remix)
Madonna - Vogue (Tracy Young's Aditude Mix)
Madonna - Erotica (Peter Rauhofer Anthem)
Madonna - Deeper And Deeper (David Morales Mix)
Madonna - Secret (Paul Oakenfold Remix)
Madonna - Bedtime Story (Victor Calderone Club Mix)
Madonna - Frozen (Sebastian Leger Remix)
Madonna - Ray Of Light (Axwell Remix)
Madonna - Skin (The Collaboration Mix)
Madonna - Music (Kobbe & Austin Leeds Remix)
Madonna - Don't Tell Me (Starkillers Remix)
Madonna - Impressive Instant (Rauhofer's Universal Club Mix)

I'd be really really happy if a lot of these remixes turned out to be on the release. There are some excellent producers listed.

kinomaniac 29th October 2007 03:03 AM

I never really cared for Celine! Blasphemous biatch... (sorry!)

E-mail sent.

Video of Guy and Madonna walking arm in arm out on Sunset Blvd. Aren't they just adorable? :smitten

I'm very impressed how respectful that reporter ended up being in the end.

I have such a low opinion of X17 paparazzi, it surprised me. They're still a nasty bunch, but at least they didn't ruin Madonna's evening.

kinomaniac 30th October 2007 03:32 AM

It's so cute! M looks so peaceful and damn paparazzi should be really annoying, all those flashes and stuff.

Thanks for video.

I'd hardly call reaching number 1 in 44 countries a fluke. It's her biggest hit ever.

The Confessions Tour submitted for Grammy consideration

News is just in from the U.S. that The Confessions Tour by Madonna has been submitted for consideration for nomination for Best Long Form Music Video at the 50th Grammy Awards.
This is only the first step of the process where entries are submitted and then screened for eligibility and category placement - it doesn't mean The Confessions Tour is nominated then, it just means it's been submitted for nomination as part of a list that currently includes 158 films.

The Best Long Form Music Video is Category #110 at the Grammy Awards - and is meant for video album packages consisting of more than one song or track.
The Award is presented to the Artist and to the Video Director/Producer of at least 51% of the total playing time.

The 50th Grammy Awards - a milestone for the Grammys and the Recording Academy - will take place on February 10, 2008 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Nominations will be announced on December 6, 2007.

Thank you! :smitten

and @ austin: you have to pay attention to where those polls are coming from, it makes total sense that Maxim magazine would rate Madonna that way.

M says it best:

I don't want no lies
I don't watch TV
I don't waste my time
Won't read a magazine

:laugh

If it makes any difference, she can visit my candy shop whenever she damn well pleases!

This was posted over at Madonna Fanzine and I have no idea how credible the source is, but I figured I'd post it anyway. It's fun to speculate.

I am doing an internship in the Warner Bros Company here in France in the town of Neuilly and I've got some cool news to tell you guys!
I've heard that 4 editions of the upcoming album are planned:
-the first one is the original cd in a case called 'crystal' (it means the original cd format),
-the second one is the vinyl edition of the album in limited edition just as 'COAD,
-the third one is only for France and this is the same as the original edition except the fact that it will be in a slipcase and it will costs 13,99€ "only" [this is a way to promote the new cd in France: Björk, Nelly Furtado, Justin Timberlake had the same limited edition]
-and the fourth one is for worldwide.
