I think the album may sell in the first week around 7,000 copies, and 11,000 in total. Just like CONNETTA and DOLCE.

Um, why wouldn't they release the best songs as singles? They want the public to buy the album, so they are going to release what they feel are the best songs so people will buy the album. Every artist does that...

marcelosama 21st October 2008 01:46 PM

I think this album is too expensive.
Now I don't know if I order it or not...:grumpy

ALPHY 21st October 2008 02:38 PM

^ Yeah, the price was not bad before the world financial crisis.

Everything is so much more expensive now!

This is my impression too, there are very few artists that have any better album tracks than single tracks. Ayu is one of the few ones..

Also arrangements tend to be more attention grabbing and cathy uped for single tracks because they must grab attention at first listen. So yeah, there is a difference in general.

REG financial crisis, Especially for those of us who are unfortunate enough to not live in countries with euro or dollar, the financial crisis makes theordering of goods in those currencies even worse and very unstable. I'm not going to order anything untill I know for sure What I'll pay and as it is now our currency here has been very unstable.

Umm, maybe because "ONE" and "can't stop the DISCO" were done before the album tracks were? :o

Do you know this for a fact? With someone like Ayumi, we all know she has been recording singles, and then (last minute in some cases :innocent) creates the album. With ami, they announced this album before, or around the time ONE came out... meaning ami and her team would have had to have a fairly good amount of work done on the album to shoot for a 2008 release date.

Plus, even if they had created some amazing songs after the release of ONE and cstD you would think that they would release that song in some way, shape, or form before the album came out to create some hype... because lets be honest, ONE and cstD wernt exactly the best selling ami singles ever.

*Petit* 22nd October 2008 08:38 AM

^
Or, which is also osmething that in many case happens, they will use the new good songs as singles before the next album or simply give them to some other artists. This happens all the time.

Another thing is that they can tweak the arrangement of a mediocre melody /composition to make it sound more like a "single track" and vice versa.

It can be generally assumed that an artists works on their album after the singles have been released. All that was announced (in like August) was that she was going to be doing an album with Yasutaka Nakata. They probably have been working on the album up until very recently, seeing as how a tracklisting and the album title were just released.

Okay, first of all, no, most artists do not do this except ones who put out crap like crazy like Koda and Ayumi. Second, ONE and CSTD were her highest charting singles in 2 years...

TEN (the song) is going to have a tie-in with Honda Cars for October-December:

TEN
[ 2008年10月~12月 Honda Cars キャンペーン(地域限定)タイアップCM ]

http://www.avexnet.or.jp/ami/news/121.html

Oh, and there's a new DVD clip for the CD+DVD version: The first DJ play @ club asia

Beauty4123 22nd October 2008 05:20 PM

hopefully the tie in can help the album in some way...

Kaiouforever 23rd October 2008 02:47 AM

Yay for the tie-in and new addition to the DVD...it looked a little scarce to me, so maybe this will help it appear meatier.

HilaryDuffFanboy 23rd October 2008 03:07 AM

So she's replaced Kumi as the Honda CM girl ? :P

Anyway, Ami has been working on this album for a while. At a DJ gig in july/august (forgot when) her and Nakata performed a few untitled songs from it.

Plus can't stop the DISCO was already recorded in July, it's strange it took them way over a month to announce that that was the second single; I assume they'd planned for another song that wasn't ready in time or something.

Celaphorce 23rd October 2008 03:38 AM

^Well they did say that CTSD wasn't planned for any single release at all when the donut cm came out, but it turned out that way, so maybe you're right.

s1012h 23rd October 2008 03:50 AM

I'm excited for the previews... TEN seems like it'll be a strong opener

do it again 23rd October 2008 04:06 AM

did anyone download ami's performance of ONE and BE TOGETHER? she sang the remixed version of BE TOGETHER and it's in HD at JPS... it's really good.

Lots of artists release a song right before they release their album. Some examples would be Chara, MISIA, Ayu, Koda, Perfume, Namie, and even ami herself.

Don't get me wrong, I hope this is her best album ever. I just get the feeling it wont be.

prussian blue 23rd October 2008 09:22 AM

OMG i'm excited for the tie-in, hopefully more ppl will notice about it ^^

and also, the other video, does that mean we can see ami playing as a DJ? or the live that she has done in a cruise stuff?

Yeah, I'm well aware. It's just that that is not the case normally, so I don't understand why you'd be expecting it like it's a given. Some artists never do it, like Hikki.

Anyway, I'm happy to hear bout that tie-in! Good job for Amigo!~!

This is absolutely not true unless the case is an independent band that has been lazy with their time limit. An artist has a pool of songs they select from and even if the final product to appear on a single is more finished before the album tracks (for obious reasons) most artists have other songs they can perform or that will appear on the album at the time they release a single simply because you cannot select one song and go with it hoping it's going to be allright if you have nothing to compare it to. I would think for a lot of album songs they may be reworked a little before album, but for ami who doesen't really do anything except for singing which doesen't need to take so long, I'm sure she could finish recording of several songs a long time ago even if nakata himself haden't finished them. It's the same case as with ayu's "it was" that was intitally finished for (miss) understood but was in the back of a drawer untill secret.
