Fuji TV announces Arashi campaign to usher in the new year

On Tuesday, Fuji TV held a press conference to announce a “Fuku Arashi Campaign,” which will have Arashi getting increased airtime between December 17 and January 3.

This includes limited-time commercials for the campaign that will air during that period, as well as several special programs featuring the group’s members and a giveaway campaign.

According to the Sports Hochi newspaper, the campaign includes a special TV mini-program with Arashi that will air late at night every night between December 27 and January 3, though December 31 will be skipped since Arashi are hosting NHK’s Kouhaku Uta Gassen that night.

On January 3, Arashi will have a “Kotatsu DE Arashi” special and a “VS Arashi” special, plus Ohno Satoshi’s drama special “Mou Yuukai Nante Shinai” .The drama special will feature guest appearances by Sakurai Sho (as his butler character in this season’s “Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de”) and Matsumoto Jun (as his detective character in next season’s “Lucky Seven”).

It is also reported that Fuji TV’s website will have a special original game called “Fuku Arashi Warai” that uses the facial features of Arashi’s members.

The “Fuku Arashi” campaign symbol, which has messages written on it by the group, will be on display in Omotesando Hills from December 27 to January 3.

Arashi's performances at the FNS

Oh my..."Meikyuu Love Song" was so painful to watch and listen to! I'm sorry boys, but I really wanted to turn the video off after 30 seconds! They were off key the whole performance long. It seems that something was not right with their microphones??

I'm sure anti-fan are rejoicing now! :headache

A friend who called up Fuji Tv said this. If this is true, it is a big problem:
FNS admits to broadcasting accident, the sound system person had forgotten to turn on the microphones, the staff had misplaced the ear monitors and the live band were way too loud.

I can imagine MatsuJun giving Fuji TV hell right now! :laugh

But I doubted from the beginning that it was Arashi's fault. I mean, they're not the best singers, but when even Riida sounds off key, you know that something must be wrong!!

To be honest I actually thought that performance was quite nice! Nice to see them sing live and do the choreo at the same time.

^ Well...they were singing live, but the conditions couldn't have been worse for them.

Like I said in my last post, the staff misplaced their ear monitors so they had to sing without them and their mics were not turned on, which means that they had to scream to be heard over the too loud background music.

To put it short: It was a mess, but not Arashi fault, because we know that they can sing live. Just listen to the "Special Medley". It was live and they nailed it!

it's sad that arashi had that microphone problem, but at the same time, they really did dance good & they looked amazing at least, lol. so it wasn't so bad, right? :P

but the other performance really was lovely, though. :heart

^ Yeah, the only sad thing is that nobody is talking about their amazing dancing or their good looks, but only how awful the singing was...even when it was not Arashi's fault. :headache


I guess tabloids will rant about it, if Fuji TV does not make a public apology!

This is one of the biggest year-end music festival controversies that I have ever seen since 2009's Ayu lyric mishap - except this time it might not be the performer but the technical crew...

^ It was only the fault of the staff! Arashi had nothing to do with it.

Actually, other performers at the FNS had problems during their performances too (the background music was way to loud for some), but only Arashi did not complain about it. They just pulled the whole thing through with a smile on their faces! I'm very proud of how they handled the situation! :yes

Another performance I watched the song started too early before the group was on stage and the camera was one shot through the whole thing, an overhead where you couldn't see any of their faces :laugh
Clearly some problems with their crew this year

seems that due to last night's fisco at FNS , ARASHI fans have resorted to complaining to Fuji TV o_o

then again this's not the 1st time such a thing happened to ARASHI . Even at last year's FNS when they sang Hatenai Sora live , it was bad but comparing to what I've seen/heard of Meikyuu Love Song = X.X

I also heard fans of other groups talking and it seems that the FNS yesterday was a bit of a mess (not only Arashi, but other artists had problems too!). I hope that the organisation next year will be better. I mean, I don't get how you can misplace the ear monitors of the artists. That's just not right. :no

It was a big miss from Fuji tv, if Arashi were professional singers they could have done better. But they're not, they probably was supposed to use playback and singing in studio without ear monitoring is difficult even for a professional singer.
They still kept smiling and I'm ok with that. Also because I know they can do waaaay better than that. ^^

the only thing that makes me sad is that antis has already started taling bad about Arashi everywere ;(

Based on what I'm hearing, this year's FNS in general is quite less-than-stellar in quality...

@Mami-chan: The anti-fans are always talking! Let them talk, I say, because they just ridicule themselves. Everybody knows that it was not Arashi's fault, but technical problems.

Arashi are not the best singers (and their fans know that!), but they don't sound this creepy.
