"Girls' Generation"

I keep it movin' as I'm groovin' pass all that other crap. What do they put on the Cover of their Albums? Yes Ma'am. What do they call themselves? Yes Ma'am. In any and every country? Yes Ma'am.

Thank You.

Don't let Last FM sycophants tell you what's right.

(this means a lot to me.)

P.S.--> And I don't like Tae-yeon's dusty behind either.

i think fany and sica were hated partly because they were the "US girls".. maybe that intimidated people. and of course their mannerism are really different... my favs though <3

i think taeyeon has an attitude problem though... i remember there was more than 1 occasion where she showed a black face or something.

and yes i.. well don't hate but i'm really uninterested in sunny. the ageyo stint gets on my nerves

Oh yeah know I remember, I never watch the video of that show so that kinda lost in my mind. But she's not the only one being racist in KPop, if you know there was an article regarding that in omona, some other singers pulled a black face and not to mention Yuri's so-called Black impersonation during Invincible Youth. I guess the racist stereotyping about African American runs in Kpop's veins :|

Utena 7th May 2012 12:28 PM

it's funny how the most popular members can be the most hated ones. I don't really pay attention though, I would rather make my own opinion on something and not believe everything haters say.

AyusakiFan 7th May 2012 02:59 PM

I'm hoping now that the girls are more well traveled and have been exposed to different types of people and races, that those who have had stereotypical or racist views in the past have grown past that and learned that "people should not be judged based on their skin color but by the content of their character" Yes, I quoted Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., lol.

Yeah it's very sad and I find it very offending because they take music and dances from African American culture and then they make fun of African American people. Gosh, I hate the steoreotype that black people are scary! :shakehead UGH! makes me so mad. >.< Yeah I've lost some respect for Yuri now I just found out about that one yesterday. *sigh*
I never liked Taeyeon now I'm not a huge fan of Yuri either, kinda. *sigh* It's dissapointing really. ;_;''

I agree with you. It definitely makes you lose respect for someone when they make racist comments or impersonations based on stereotypes or racist thoughts and opinions. Like you said, some kpop artists tend to emulate some parts of African American culture in their music and dance yet will turn around and make blacks the bud of their jokes on a consistent basis. I've seen them make fun of other races as well and it's such a turnoff. If these artist want to expand outside of Korea, they need to learn how to respect people of other cultures just as they would want others to respect theirs.

More News on the Google concert for you guys in California!

Quote:

Updated: Girls’ Generation to Perform in MBC’s ‘Korean Music Wave in Google’

According to Powerhouse Live, MBC’s “Korean Music Wave in Google” will be an event open to the public and free of charge. The concert will take place at the Shoreline Amphitheater, where Girls’ Generation will perform alongside other artists such as TVXQ, Super Junior, Wonder Girls, KARA, MBLAQ, SISTAR, and f(x). Tickets will be made available to the public starting this Saturday, May 12th, at 7:00 PM PST. Doors for the concert on May 21st will open at 5:00 PM, and ticket holders will be given entry on a first-come, first-served basis.

Taeyeon and Tiffany, who currently host MBC’s “Show! Music Core” with Seohyun and recently MC’d MBC’s “Korean Music Wave in Bangkok” with 2PM’s Nichkhun, will also be the hosts for MBC’s “Korean Music Wave in Google”.

Previous article from 12/05/04:

Girls’ Generation will be performing alongside other artists at the Google Headquarters, located in San Jose, California.

The group will perform at an employee-only event on May 21st at 6PM PST with TVXQ, Super Junior, KARA, SISTAR, MBLAQ, BEAST, and the Wonder Girls. This will be the first time a K-Pop concert of this scale will be held in the Bay Area.

The concert will also be the first ever K-Pop event to be broadcast by Google, alongside Korean network, MBC. Regarding the concert, a staff member said, “The interest in local concert holders has increased with word of Korean singers performing at Google headquarters. Korean singers’ concerts were usually at the focus of resident Koreans, but this Google concert will have local American pop fans. This will prove that Korean artists’ concerts don’t only appeal to Korean fans, but to global fans. We are predicting that through this concert, the demand for Korean singers’ concerts in the US will increase greatly.”

Meanwhile, the day before the concert at Google, SM artists will be holding the SMTOWN LIVE WORLD TOUR III concert at the Honda Center in the Los Angeles area on May 20th.

I received my copy of "Twinkle" in the mail today! I just finished listening to the whole mini-album and I absolutely love it! All of the songs are great and did a wonderful job of displaying their vocal talents and range! The packaging of the album is beautiful and I got two photocards of Seohyun! Now I'm just waiting for the poster to come in the mail. I can now finally catch up on all of the performances I skipped out on waiting for this to arrive! :love

Utena 9th May 2012 07:52 PM

was expecting mine today, but since yesterday was a holiday probably tomorrow or Friday.. can't wait ♥ did you buy two copies? I did too, hopefully I'll have at least a Taeyeon or Seohyun photocard!
