Btw what is her target audience? What gender what age are most of her fans? Also can anyone imagine her pulling a yui writing herself as MIWA and cutting her hair short and blonde singing under alias names in little venues without her management knowing and then coming back as band? lol sorry I can't help it

mellody 15th April 2015 07:15 PM

Her target audience is most likely youth in early 20, or maybe just students. Ever since she debuted, the lyrics is obvious pointed toward younger generation to tell them not to lose hope and stay strong, this can be seen in her debut single, all those 3 songs. Even megurogawa can be described as a graduation song imo.

She's labelled as a singer-songwriter with hard-working persona (because around that time she's still in the university, but now already graduated) and it can be seen in her second single. The third single has an anime tie-in, which was very popular among the youth, so yeah. Several weeks after the release of her third single, she invited some lucky fans to learn guitar together as a light band or something. Even her fifth single is a campaign song to the students whose are facing the exam or something, just like YUI's GLORIA.

All those proof mentioned above, I think it is a true sign that she's marketed towards the youth, if you watch her concerts, many youth can be spotted, both male and female, her radio show is also success, most of the fan letters are from youth in early twenties or late seventeens or so.

I don't think she won't pull that yui thing. I know yui's career is a sad one, really, like seriously. Basically because both are simply different. People who follow yui from the very beginning of the career knows that she's not from a good family, I mean, just like ayu, as far as I remember, yui's father left him or passed away I forgot, she grows up in a fatherless home, she doesn't have any memory of her father, while miwa, she's from a complete family, both of her parents are still present, both are good in music, they inspire miwa a lot, I heard miwa's father is a music producer as well, plus she has a little sister.

Another difference is this: education. yui, to chase her dream to become a singer, she left her hometown from Fukuoka to Tokyo, and she didn't finish her study, as far as I remember. But miwa? She's trying to become a singer, but she's still continue her study and even graduated.

I don't know what happened to yui, but she's been through a lot, what happened to her is really sad, I hope it won't happen to miwa anytime soon.

^Thanks for the info. I admire miwa, I mean working as a singer and study O__O
I can't imagine the stress.

Good point here. It's not that often you see someone who's good at music also does well academically (e.g. Arashi's Sho Sakurai, who attended Keio University, which miwa attended).

I don't want something bad happen to miwa either. :no

mellody 18th April 2015 05:39 PM

Now that you've mentioned it, miwa has graduated from Keio University as well, and I heard Keio University is #2 university in Japan?

No clue whatsoever what subject did she majoring in but I'm kinda curious, because she said before that her study was not related to music at all.

Thanks for pointing out. I forgot miwa went to Keio. I'm quite curious about what's her major...

Which album did you mean? If ONENESS, then you can take it from here:

If I was kind of misunderstood and you want to try her music, I would recommend her third album, and you can take it from here:

I hate using that site tbh
Every time I try to download there my internet browser blows up with terrible spam. I don't ever get spam. But this is like a quasi virus. Same with alljapannews or whatever it's called.

I advise you want to try using an ad blocker program...

mellody 28th April 2015 07:37 AM

Then I will just PM you the link to the album directly, hopefully it helps?

EDIT:
PM sent anyway.

Thanks for all the info I didn't know most of that

mellody 29th July 2015 09:03 PM

Almost 3 months has passed and this thread is basically dead. :laugh

After the release of ONENESS which is not as great as Delight in terms of sales, she's still around, and a new single coming soon.

Covers, Tracklist, Info

Sorry, too lazy to write lol.
Hazzie is a rapper-songwriter btw.
Feels like miwa is back, because the covers are SO GOOD.

Oh, and Stress-Free sure is a recut from ONENESS, that Taylor Swift song.
Even more surprising, she even make a PV for it, so special.

Ryusei 30th July 2015 07:09 AM

Looking forward to this new song, the little news preview sounded very sweet ^^

Bigtop 30th July 2015 08:00 AM

I'm looking forward to the new song. Hazzie... I'm more familiar with Sayuri Sugawara (THE SxPLAY) since both are in the same agency (Starray Entertainment, formerly New Style Vision - http://www.starray-e.com/)...

...but why in the world "Stress Free" - one of the most annoying songs that I've heard (and, admittedly, one of the most-played) - is being recut!? And, this time - it's going to get a PV!?

Kacku 31st July 2015 07:57 AM

The covers are so cute! I hope for good things from this single. I'm glad there's a brand new b-side 'cause Stress-free... how does it even go? The only new tracks I remember from ONENESS are the title track (which was quite cool!) and Philosophy (which better remain an experiment never repeated...). That album...

mellody 1st August 2015 05:15 PM

Well, it's a good thing if many people looking forward to this new release, at least the hype is in!

But then I realized, I feel like I heard the B-side song title before... and then, I saw this again:
http://www.tokyohive.com/article/201...moiro-clover-z
The song title is indeed the same, but I don't know if it's going to be the same song or not.

FYI.
Momoiro Clover Z x miwa - Itsuka Kimi ga (Short)
Momoiro Clover Z - Itsuka Kimi ga

adantatu2 2nd August 2015 11:01 PM

Itsuka Kimi ga is so catchy, I loved that song even with Momoclo, XD. I hope it's the same but with miwa only <3
