lol, I like to create perfomances on my mind as well :3

ayuuk 4th January 2014 04:15 AM

Me too, I love imagining my own version of performance...

I think after 2008 budget has become limited for Ayu?? Bearing that in mind, though, I agree that one tour can still have something special, something memorable. If they can cut off the unnecessary back-up chorus, dancers etc, I think there shall be some $

truehappiness 4th January 2014 04:44 AM

I don't think that's the case exactly...

But AT09 probably had to be cheap because PCDL was so luxurious, I think. That's how I saw the situation anyway since PCDL got a lot of standalone outfits and so on.

AT10 was a return to form imo, and I thought money was spent mostly on stage upgrades rather than props. POWER of MUSIC was the 'simple' concert that was switched from the old HOTEL Love songs plan which was reused for 2012... and then there's A BEST LIVE which had mostly recreations/mashups of older performances from what I saw.

I'm really excited to see if AT14/XX14 will be like AT10. This new stage is very promising!

RealLight 4th January 2014 05:23 AM

I really liked AT09's stage.

jiarongisme 4th January 2014 05:35 AM

^ Same here. The use of the screens were brilliant.

truehappiness 4th January 2014 06:52 AM

I think AT06/AT10 represent the best work Ayu has done with screens. DT01 tried but it was a bit sloppy at times.

SKYia 4th January 2014 01:05 PM

AT05 screens were awesome too, or maybe it was just that the videos were so good, I still have chills watching the Inspire intro and Game intro :) From AT06 I only remeber the cute section intro and of course alterna intro video which was her best idea ever, AT08 also has very good videos, cute section interlude was enjoyable, the (don't) leave me alone and marionetter interludes were groundshaking but as for use of screens in general, AT10 rules, 'the introduction' with dividing Ayu's face parts into screens and moving it, that was orgasmic, I also love the don't look back interlude when dancers interact with the screens.

AT05 is the most memorable because it was the first time she used them, I knew Ayu just before AT05 and I think I already watched all her concerts and then went to Japan, bought AT05 DVD (my first Ayu purchase) and was surprised by the quality of the concert, the screens gave me chills.

ayuuk 4th January 2014 01:59 PM

^You made me want to watch AT05 again! :P

SKYia 4th January 2014 02:53 PM

^Please do, I already went and bought red whine, gonna do the same, I so regret they didn't release it on Bluray

[H] 4th January 2014 03:16 PM

I just saw Concert Tour 2000 part 2 and find it awesome!!
of course things were much simpler, but many costume changes and lots of interesting intro and background videos (and i think the clowns were first introduced here?). If I were watching in 2001, i would have been totally blown away with the advancement in concept and technology.

I feel the same way watching DT2001, AT2005 and AT2010. However I'm missing that blown away vibe from the recent concerts (of course all of Ayu's concerts are amazing). But hearing from the reviews of CDL14 got me excited and hopefully AT2014 we'll see a breakthrough concept :)

Oh yeah... Bluray release starts from AT06 only, if I am correct?

ayuuk 4th January 2014 03:41 PM

By the way I really like AT05's opening, probably my favorite opening!!!

Hight five, mine as well, it's been very long since I got used to any later opening not being like that, AT05 was a standard starter and it's the closest to my taste considering Ayu look, costumes, vocal, emotions, videos, energy, I may like some of the later tours more just because I like some of the later songs more, but in case of the things I mentioned above, AT05 is still the top Arena (top three definitely)

ayuuk 4th January 2014 03:57 PM

^I am so happy that we both like the AT05's opening the most!! :D

To be quite frankly I feel a bit disappointed because the time I finally managed to get to see Ayu live is after AT09... but I somehow have a feeling that after AT09 or even after AT08 or PCDL, her concert's budget has been cut or whatnot... It has much fewer "memorable" elements like AT05 opening, or AT06 opening, or AT08's ship etc...

BlackSilence 4th January 2014 04:25 PM

i'm still crying over Heartplace.... =(

truehappiness 4th January 2014 05:09 PM

Oh, when I was talking about screens... I was talking about the actual screens, haha. Not the videos in the opening/interludes!

MY STORY was interesting because Ayu said herself that from album to tour, MY STORY was her first fully completely realized vision. (not exactly, but she said that it was the first time the songs to concert felt 'complete') From there, I can see why she went with a bit of a formula for the concerts that followed.

I am too, more than before. I honestly thought the way she sounded during her practice was great!! She could have pulled that off and I guess it would have fitted in with "because of you". So sad she cut it!!

ayu-michan 5th January 2014 03:20 AM

Heartplace is an amazing song, she can probably still sing it, or make a new arrangement or some sort. I'm only expecting a lot to hear it because back then, most of the performances were ruined by the back-up chorus.

BlackSilence 5th January 2014 04:03 AM

Heartplace doesn't need a new arangement, that song is already epic and perfect in all ways for me: the guitars, the strings something folklorish and new at the same time, it's a perfect arangement. I would love to hear it now, sung by today's Ayu. Tho mmm..... a ballad piano version or something like that might be a very interesting approach, but i will always love the original the most. It is my favorite piece in her entire discography.

you thought the back up singers in the past were bad? O_O

please we have Timmy now :laugh he made me cringe in the beginning of ABL!

And I Was reallllyyyyy disappointed in ABL... her vocals were pitchy but the show was meh overall... I mentioned it before but she butchered No way to say.

Not in the vocals but in the performance. It was a personal and raw song. the lyrics were so touching, so relatable, then she turned it into a cheesy Days performance. I love Days and that sort of cheese fits it cos it's a love song but Nwts is that song about accepting your past and moving on, not seeing Shu-ya flailing arounnnnnd and crying cos he suddenly disappeared ugh

and big hugs to those who loved AT 05! It was my first concert that I watched (on my computer) so it holds very special memories. everything was soooooooooooooooooooo epic there I couldn't find a single mistake. the only thing AT 06 had over it was the flawless flow from Ladies Night to alterna and the amazing concept of it all
