I don't believe anything he has to say lol

As someone who isn't a fan of Kingdom Hearts, I just wish she would get it over with already! You're either doing it or you are not.:laugh

thinkingoutloud89 10th December 2017 08:28 PM

Kingdom hearts is so great!

Not Fade Away 12th December 2017 03:53 AM

Teruzane is almost as big a troll as YG.

amorphose 12th December 2017 06:51 PM

I used to love Kingdom Hearts, but I have completely and entirely lost interest. I was 10 and 14 when the first two came out, respectively. I will be 26 next year when the third one comes out....... and that's IF it actually even really comes out next year. lol

The only thing I care about related to KH now is that it may cause us to be blessed with yet another new Utada song. :luv2

thinkingoutloud89 12th December 2017 10:06 PM

^same here...but i also waited 10 years for FF15. There are plenty of games to keep me going.

I agree! I loved both KH and KH2 but after years of spinoffs being released across different platforms I kinda lost interest although I will still buy KH3 whenever it's released. (I still don't believe it will turn up in 2018). However, the gap in the releases of the main games has benefited them as there have been so many successful Disney films since KH2 and Disney now own more properties.

I wish the PV for Anata wasn't another recording-in-the-studio one. PVs like this, Prisoner of Love and Flavour of Life are my least favourite type of music video.

I'm hoping the next release will be an album! I can't believe Utada United was 12 years ago!!

dreamalley 13th December 2017 12:25 PM

If only she would give some concerts in Europe... it would make my life complete.

I mean, she already performed in New York and technically she's living in London right now. So it's not such a far-fetched idea.

Also, Utada United 2006 was the best. She can do the next tour exactly like that and I'll be thrilled.

So how long has utadas entire discography been up for streaming? Anyone notice? I'm starting to notice other jpop artists are getting the same treatment which is v nice :)

I'm glad "Anata" is doing well for her!

...Unfortunately the song hasn't clicked with me yet for some reason.

dreamalley 24th December 2017 10:44 PM

tbh neither "Anata" nor any of the latest singles have clicked for me at all.

I really wanted to like it though.

Deep snow 25th December 2017 01:06 AM

I'm okay with Oozora and Forevermore (probably because I'm just happy bih is releasing new music), but I'm especially in love with anata! it's so, so good.

terra 25th December 2017 07:47 PM

I'm so digging Oozora, at first the melody got me like ? then boom the delivery of chorus and the lyrics that turned a fun tune into a somber song by the end. I love it, like it's so personal.

Forevermore is okay I think, it's nice. While Anata doesn't really click with me that well.

It didn't click for me either. Neither did Forevermore. I liked the style, and I think I liked them on first listen, but they just haven't stuck. In fact, a lot of Fantome is absent from my mind, except Sakura and Tooriame and Hanataba. OK OK and Two Hour Vacation and Ningyo.

HOWEVER. I am loving the cover art and promo. And I keep in mind that I wasn't a big fan of songs like Be My Last either. So, Utada usually nails it for me with the albums, but misses occasionally on the singles. And it's only inevitable that she would eventually release an album that misses a bit for me too.

I hope her next record will be more eclectic and full bodied now that she's warmed up to being back in the industry. I want to hear more variety like she did on DR, UB and HS. Fantome was a little flat and too minimal with the production for me. So, here's hoping she gives us something more fleshed out and breathing.

Also, ballads... please more ballads like Sakura. Please! Another Dareka... Another FINAL DISTANCE? Something that really blows my mind like she has with these songs. Utada is too good at these kinds of slow, reflective, musically emotional ballads.

I agree with everything!

Man, I still get teary-eyed every time "Final Distance" starts playing.

One of her best songs ever! Unfortunately it's been a while since she released such blockbusters. I'm not into her new material.
