Thanks for the information! I'm very excited for this album, I hope I like it more than I liked Honeymoon.

Well let's hope it is true. I cannot wait any longer.

New songs:

Summer Bummer ft A$AP Rocky, Playboi Carti

Groupie Love ft A$AP Rocky

xLuna&1LOVE 13th July 2017 06:35 AM

Yeah! I heard them last night. I like Summer Bummer, I like the musical arrangement. Great song to chill out to. Though, it does not really top High on the Beach.

I am not really fond of Groupie Love, unfortunately. It sounds a bit uninteresting. Maybe it will grow on me.

The songs don't really grab me like Love and Lust for Life did.

Also, other news:

Yesterday, Lana revealed on her Instagram the tracklist for her new album. The album is now ready to preorder on her official website. You can choose between (digital) album, vinyl and even cassette! The boxset and both limited edition vinyls are expected to be released two months later; 28.09.17.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There is also other news, picture news... she modeled again, and cover art for singles Groupie Love and Summer Bummer. But I have to go now, so I will do that later.

CatGirl 13th July 2017 12:37 PM

Yaaas! A song with Stevie Nicks! Can't wait!

oaristos 13th July 2017 11:01 PM

I'm not the biggest fan of Groupie Love, but I don't think I'm skipping that song either. On the other hand, I quite like Summer Bummer!

I can't wait for the song with Stevie Nicks, and it's so cool that we're having so many collaborations this time! :)

aliceshields 14th July 2017 03:43 AM

OMG cassette! Ages never see those! My last purchased cassette was Celine Dion's Let's Talk About Love (that was 20 years ago, oh dear I feel so old now haha!)

16 tracks, I wonder if they are all full songs or interludes in between.

EDIT: I checked on iTune, looks like all full length songs.

Still haven't enjoyed anything since Paradise but still willing to give her new album a try.

xLuna&1LOVE 20th July 2017 11:17 PM

Sorry for not uploading her latest magazine shots, I have been so busy!
Anyway, album is already available to listen to on Spotify. I will listen to it tomorrow during work (my third job is the least prestigious one in the world, as part-time maid, but on the bright side I could enjoy Lust For Life all day. Actually looking forward to work.)

I am curious to your opinions on the new album. Are you also getting a physical copy? I want the boxset, but it is released in September and I find the price a bit too much. I will take it in consideration.

orbitalaspect 22nd July 2017 10:22 PM

I like the new album. It's waay too long though. I don't think Heroin, Change, or Get Free should have either been on the album or been added rather than replaced other songs.

I've got some bigger opinions on the album, but I'll post them later. I will say that she fucking nailed some of these tracks - like memorable enough for me to put them up with Video Games, Born To Die, West Coast, and High By The Beach. She absolutely made some new classics on this record.

Refix 25th July 2017 09:09 PM

I like this album. I think musically varied, there's plenty beats, not so gloomy and dreadful although some lyrics drop in that category. But then again, this is Lana, her power are unconditional love, bad romance, bad guy worship kinda lyrics. Featuring plenty of collaborations makes this record rich. What wonders me is, if she and Courtney are like bff's then why Courtney didn't become one of the artist who got featured in the album?
The minus in this album was, there's no song like National Anthem and Off to the Races. I was still hoping every time she dropped news about album to come, that song with cute, psychotic child voice would be back. But then again, this is just my opinion, others might think this album's already perfect.

My new favorite songs are:
Cherry.
Heroin. I like that "It's fucking hot, hot." moment.
Summer Bummer.

oaristos 25th July 2017 11:22 PM

I just finished listening to the album for the first time and... I love it. I didn't think I'd enjoy it that much since I barely listened to Honeymoon, but this one is really good. "Cherry," "13 Beaches" and "White Mustang" are definitely my favorite tracks.

NintendoHTF1242 26th July 2017 01:09 AM

Love is great, amazing song. Like the song with John Lennon's son too. Other than that, it's okay. Nothing remarkable but much better than Honeymoon.

My thoughts pretty much. "13 Beaches", "Cherry", "Groupie Love", "God Bless America", and "Change" I think will be remembered years later. If I had to peg the biggest hits, they would be "Love" and "13 Beaches". I think "Tomorrow Never Came" may get there someday, but it's so Chainsmokers and I think the whole song sounds kind of like a cheap Lennon knock-off. John's son doesn't sound all that original either... it's like he's trying to sound like his dad rather than his own voice. But who knows? It's catchy.

Overall, I just feel this album is like 5 songs too long. I think because Lana doesn't have much variability in her sound, releasing an album that's more than 12 songs is like yanking teeth just to get through all of it.

It's a nice change over Honeymoon. It absolutely comes nowhere near Lorde's Melodrama though. I just don't think Lana can pull off a long ass record because her sound doesn't change much from song to song. But she certainly left me with some unforgettable moments on this record. Lyrics like, "It hurts to love you, but I still love you. It's just the way I feel," sung in the way she delivers them... That's what makes her worth tuning in for.

relmy 26th July 2017 12:29 PM

Think it just depends on how much you like her 'thing', she has a gimmick and sticks to it. I love it so she could literally give me 2 hours of her singing the phonebook and I'd love it. I do have to zone out of her cringe lyrics (because really... they're cringe) but just her voice and the softness of her music... it's so divine. So yeah, I really like the new album. Weirdly, I think my favourite is Lust for Life. I thought her doing collabs wouldn't be for me, but I love it. Makes me feel like a teenager again.

My favourite is still Ultraviolence, which I listen to regularly even now, but I don't know which I like more between this and Honeymoon. Both have their highs and lows. I adored Born to Die when it came out, but I barely listen to it now. It sounds a bit empty compared to her sound from Paradise onward, even something like Born to Die. Video Games is still THE Lana song though, for me.

Same here! :yes I love Born to Die, but Ultraviolence gives me the chills every single time I listen to it, from beginning to end. "Brooklyn Baby" is my anthem. :heart
