A lot of those people knew her because of InuYasha (like myself), but it's really funny indeed, cause many of them still follow her even they aren't attached to the anime universe anymore (like myself again lol).

Yeah, I first found out about her thru Inuyasha as well. Also it was common to have her bootleg DVDs on sale at anime events.

I remember a couple of spanish (I think) magazines called "Animanga" and "Minami" they had this j-music section and sometimes the issues included a CD with some random j-music videos, I had a couple with Ayu, L'arc en Ciel, GACKT, Do as Infinity and other artists ^^
