YOU think those videos can't be called that, but then again, that's what YOU think and a considerable number of people disagree with you. If you want, I can describe every single reason I find the new PVs cheap, but that would just be a long post no one really needs, so let's be succint. For you, the videos have good points, I don't see any. |
I think "Bassline" has come to grown on me, strangely by just watching the PV. :P Kuu looked so classy! Although I still prefer in-color videos compared to black & white ones. "Promise you" is such a beautiful ballad, overall, definitely one of my favorites of ~inside~ & I thought Kuu looked so lovely in that dress, as well. :heart
"Wicked Girls" is A+ for EVERYTHING! Song, PV, dance...I'm just crazy about it all. :blove I feel like these kind of videos worked very well here, and I like it much better than let's say..."Inside Fishbowl". :P "Insane" is just awesome all around! You can say how simple & how these videos are not like what Kuu used to make, but you can't go back in time, and with that in mind: I've genuinely enjoyed these videos for what they are & I get the overall feeling of Kumi in everything so much more, compared to the WOML era videos. Might be in the minority here, but I'm proud of Kuu & everything about W FACE. :heart Now I just gotta listen to ~inside~ next, haha. Will do soon. :tipsy |

And just for curiosty - at alljpop the albums got downloaded 11k+ since release: /倖田來未-w-face~inside~~outside |
Yesterday
#14 - outside #15 - inside For the record , Kuu had some of the best PVs made in her discography , be it singles and/or for album songs Seeing that her budget for PVs now has been cut drastically , I feel really sad for her . And someone pointed out , the PVs really do not do justice for the songs which's a shame as I really like Bassline , Promise you while at the same time , I felt that Kuu should have made PVs for Yorokobi no Kakera + W FACE Also I feel not necessary PVs that're shot outside of a studio are great . On the contrary , if a PV is shot inside a studio but the end result is fantastic , that's all it matters to me |
@KarenPang It's not like the budget was cut, it was probably the same budget she always get for album PVs, and instead of doing the usual two, we got six.

Good sales overall. |
lmao guys :dead2
she usually gets budget for 2 PVS, she just decided to cut it into 6 to have more content that's all… it would've actually worked much better if she did just short PV's like Star but they're not that bad tbh anyways congrats to #1 on oricon, Kuu! i'm really satisfied, especially with outside being not that mainstream for jpop standards! really loving outside so much, for me one of her best albums in her discography inside isn't that bad tho, but i can't really listen to BIO and Stand by you for more than 10 seconds sadly… |
Yay for #1! <3 Glad to see that she still got it. SLAY
|
It was so close to having the same sales
How cool would that have been haha |
I wanna see the tour goods now!
|
Congrats, Kuu. I think It's good idea to separate this album in two. Who buys one, mostly grab another one too. I don't think if this is an album that contains 20 songs, it will sell like 40000+.
|
Lol I don't get how any singer after the 90s thinks they can get away with videos like "Wicked Girls". At least the dancing is good though, but I'd even prefer just a dance version with a white background over that tackiness. The rest of the videos, while cheap, I didn't mind too much. I actually really liked the simplicity of "BRIDGET SONG".
I haven't listened to both the albums in full yet but will later today. I have to say I've loved every song that got a PV though, especially Bassline :luv2 Kuu's music seems to be improving a lot, at least in my opinion. :D |
^yeah, I think it is very solid release and I really come to like inside too.
|
The fact that Kuu herself is quite the character is the only redeeming factor for those PVs. She looks great, she's got great energy and dancing, but I wish there were some other shots. Wasted opportunity.
I have been feeling that was about a lot of PVs lately. Like, when is the next Thriller going to be released? |
Listened to both inside and outside, there's a few duds/snoozefests on inside I definitely won't listen to again, but outside as a whole is seriously amazing, there's not a song I want to skip on there, that's not just rare for Kuu, but for artists in general for me. Definitely already one of my faves from her, and I've been a fan for over 10 years now. :)
I'm one of the few who really like W FACE too, so catchy. |
I have to say Outiside has been on replay since it was released. I love it so much. The only songs I don't care about are heartless and wicked girls, the rest is gold.
I haven't listened to inside and don't plant to do it tbh. I'm a little bit done with J-POP at the moment, but outside is giving me life. The rapping parts omg so flawless |
Oricon confirms that both W FACE ~inside~ & ~outside~ have reached the #1 & #2 spots. This is the first time, in 47 years, that a female artist has had two studio albums in the first two places (Utada Hikaru's mother was the last artist to do so!) of the charts.

Promise you is such a fucken wonderful song, it's like God's Gift to humanity. It's so good I wanna cry every time I listen to it. http://i40.tinypic.com/z65ib.gif |
Awesome feat! Very proud of Kumi.
|
Her official site is reporting about the achievments of the new albums:
http://rhythmzone.net/koda/news/detail.php?id=1047254 Except the already mentioned, she also tops the iTunes ranking for JPop with inside being No.1 and outside No.2. They 're thanking everyone. (on iTunes Ed Sheeran and the La La Land soundtrack were before her most of the time generally, but those aren't JPop) |
I'm glad for her! The project is successful.
She was able to beat her previous album first week sales. First time since BC I think! Glad outside is #1, I'm so addicted to it although I agree that Promise you is such a gem, the song alone makes me love inside! |
