The song choice IMO was probably the 'better' part of this. I mean TO BE and ourselves (first time on MS) after years of mostly SEASONS/M/evolution/etc.?

Ourselves was great, that's one of my favorite songs of hers and the arrangement was fresh. TO BE's chorus was way too distracting... while the song choice was good, I would've loved if we got something like Shape of Love or the song where she's in a house and there's a winter backdrop (the name escapes me).

Sweet scar. (such a good soooooong)

I think Sweet Scar would make simple and fantastic performance. Imagine her doing that just like in PV. I keep coming back to the song.

I'm still surprised that Sweet scar got so much love. Never liked it, it felt second hand, like a mixture of several songs she already had in her discography.

Sweet scar is so underrated. Though sometimes I heard this song in the shops which made me smile. It should have been released as a single.

Sweet scar is a beautiful song, one of the only tracks from LOVE again I still listen to often...

Lol it pretty much was secondhand cause it was a leftover she declined and decided against at one point but them pulled out to repurpose when she became desperate. But I grew to accept it for what it is.

Never understood the love for Sweet Scar.

Next_Level29 12th April 2017 11:37 PM

sweet scar is by far the best track on love again

truehappiness 13th April 2017 12:24 AM

I am fairly certain all the DAI tracks we got after 2006 were leftovers from prior sessions but I don't think she 'declined' them at any point, just never used them until she needed songs. Dai Nagao pretty much disappeared from J-Pop in the mid 00s. Sweet scar is a very haunting Ayu track IMO. Quite different from anything else she's ever done.

I love Sweet Scar! I prefer her softer ballads to the grand sweeping ones sometimes because her voice really gets to shine!

RealLight 13th April 2017 02:58 AM

Sweet scar still so bland/meh to me (as is most of LOVE again)

Same here. That song just blends in with the rest of them on that album for me.

tokyoxjapanxfan 13th April 2017 05:59 AM

Wow Sweet scar is one of my faves from the past few albums. I think it was extremely well made haha. Different strokes I guess :-p

Chibi-Chan 13th April 2017 06:06 AM

Yeah Sweet scar is great, so is Ivy. If she wouldn't have released LOVE again and the other two as singles it would have been such a great release.

Amalgam 13th April 2017 06:29 AM

Sweet Scar!
How could I have forgotten?! It's such a nice and simple song. That and Shape of Love would be the direction I'd like Ayu to go.

Now that we're talking LOVE, Song 4 U and Missing are really good songs too. Even Again has good songs, it's just that LOVE again felt like a cheap trick to resell fans two minis of songs and the album tracks weren't TOO amazing-save for Petal.

there was never a doubt about the songs.
The cover destroyed everything. EVERYTHING.

Sweet scar has a great instrumental track. if sounds different from her other ballads :)

voltron 13th April 2017 01:31 PM

Sweet Scar was always one of my favorites! I was really into LOVE and again...but not Love Again. But I love everything about Sweet Scar...the song, the video, the way she looks so amazing in the video, etc.

I agree that Ivy is very much in the same line of song. I never cared for Ivy until TA2016 when she sang it, and then I fell in love. They're both so simple and elegant. And I love that she's not using her Days cutesy voice for them.

I think there were a lot of great songs on LOVE again. The problem is they don't really work well together as an album.
