You preordered it too or you hope it's amazing as well? :D

milky_way 30th October 2008 08:20 PM

Both :D

I know it said snippets, but I hope there's some full versions of at least a couple of the demos.

That's awesome! And yeah, I really hope it has full songs too. Snippets would be so...disappointing. I think it will though, the second disc of Sound of Girls Aloud had all full songs so I think they'd at least have some on this.

Is this the special edition? I really want this for Christmas! I could wait until it's out in December and just buy it from HMV but I don't want to risk not having it! :(

drewbilation 2nd November 2008 12:31 AM

^ I believe so, Austin.

I got Dreams That Glitter yesterday and I'm already on pg. 180-something. it's a very quick, easy read, but also very entertaining! it was interesting reading about all the stuff that went on during Popstars, Cheryl's hard childhood, the dynamics of the group at the beginning, etc.

I would've probably finished this last night, but I ended up going out. I'll have it finished by Monday, at least lolz.

MemorialAddress 2nd November 2008 01:54 AM

Yeah austin, thats it :)
I pre-ordered it today!
I'm so excited!!!!!! Especially since the special edition cover is actually good, unlike the regular edition..
I also ordered the TU Tour! :love :heart

"The Promise" is no. 2 this week, and sold 68,015 copies, bringing its total to 145,125 in just two weeks.

p3ayu 2nd November 2008 08:23 PM

Curse being a poor college student :( I really want to buy the special edition and book and...everything really (I unfortunately own no physical GA stuff). I could technically buy some of this stuff, but I need to save my money like it's no one's business.

That said...It took me a couple listens to get into OoC. It's more mature sounding than their other stuff, but some of the songs are really B-side material. I like the album, but I think they could have done a little better.

I agree...but I have to say, "The Loving Kind" is amazing.

♥ you! 3rd November 2008 07:10 AM

I've canceled my order of the regular version and preorderd the deluxe instead, sorry girls I don't love you that much!

and has Girls Aloud done any promo or even held a concert outside of the UK? Cause most of their singles chart pretty decently in other European countries and even some Asian ones.

drewbilation 4th November 2008 06:27 PM

"Out Of Control" is no. 1 in the midweeks, and has sold 25,943 copies. in just one day, they've outsold the first weeks of both the Sugababes and The Satz albums. "Girls A Live" is no. 27 and sold 3,044 copies, and that's only being sold by Woolworths.

also, "The Promise" is still at no. 2 in the mids, and has sold another 19,234. they're beating Britney, Christina and Beyonce so far!

bernardation 4th November 2008 06:54 PM

I can't describe how happy I am right now!!!!!
I shouldn't bother some much about sales but I just can't help myself, lol

bondingo 4th November 2008 07:10 PM

I"m so happy for them, but I won't get my hopes up until we know that they got number one for the entire week. So I'm really hoping that'll happen.

Kaiouforever 4th November 2008 07:12 PM

Wow they are doing great in sales! Good job girls

drewbilation 6th November 2008 07:40 PM

"Out Of Control" is still no. 1 in the mids and has sold just under 50k so far. "The Promise" is no. 3 still and has sold 31k.

Cyria 9th November 2008 08:36 PM

I just read that Out of Control has become their first original #1 album. Since I'm so happy with the album, it feels good to know that other people are liking this sound too.

drewbilation 9th November 2008 09:01 PM

^ yep, it's no. 1 and sold 85,670 copies. Kimba was interviewed about it on Radio 1 and said "Rolling Back The Rivers In Time" would be a single.

also, "The Promise" is no. 3 and sold another 53,745 copies. its total sales are just shy of 200k now.

p3ayu 9th November 2008 09:24 PM

I'm sooo happy that the album is #1!!! The girls deserve this like it's nobodies business. Hopefully they'll win a Brit soon. That would be the icing on the cake. It's really cool that they're still so popular :) I love Rolling Back the Rivers in Time so I'd be really happy for it to be a single.

milky_way 9th November 2008 10:39 PM

Congrats to them for getting no. 1!!! Now that the album has grown on me, I'm hoping that Revolution in the Head or Turn To Stone are singles.

bondingo 9th November 2008 11:07 PM

It goes without saying that I'm ecstatic about them getting number one for the first time with a studio album. I'm glad The Promise continues to sell really well also. I can't wait until I get my copy of Out Of Control so I can finally hera these songs.
