rihanna was...eh. it was pretty okay, i guess, but that russel brand guy needs to shut it though. he's annoying me. :weep he spoke waay too much about barack obama and palin's preanant dughter, lol.

Luv ~Venus~ 8th September 2008 03:14 AM

^:roflmao But he called Bush retarded. That's a win in my book.

yea. Wut Cori said was major lulz. :lmfao Luff him. <3 you I made a thread to take about the awards so that we won;t be spamming up the Britney thread just talking about the VMAs. :)

Zeke. 8th September 2008 08:49 PM

Total Bomb.

They had the whole thing planned with Brit not only winning her first VMA ever, but sweeping all threw categories she was nominated in. "That" was the "surprise" - that Britney was gonna kill even though she didn't deserve it for Piece of Me. The song is good - it's great - but the video sucks. It definitely was not worth everything it won for. Terrible.

On a positive note... Christina was AMAZING. Stole the show. P!NK was fantastic as well.

dddaiyamondo 8th September 2008 09:20 PM

^I really hope you're joking. Christina lip synched the entire time and pretty much everyone forgot about her (per usual). Britney deserved every single moon man she won, especially since she's lost with such amazing videos as "Slave 4 U" and "Oops I Did It Again".

Re:★ 8th September 2008 10:54 PM

Does MTV or the public vote for who wins what? I do find it sort of strange Brit won all her awards, as much as I love her. =x

Americans don't seem to get our well Russell's humor. Still, it was very, very awkward with all the Jonas ****. I felt a bit sorry for them, they get a bunch of **** most of the time anyway. I'm surprised nobody took the piss outta Miley actually. Poor Disney kids. :(

Fearne Cotton should've presented, she ozzm. x]

Luv ~Venus~ 8th September 2008 11:05 PM

^It was suppose to be public voting but I think MTV rigged the voting in her categories. I mean, I can see her winning the Best Pop video and Best Video of the Year since she virtually had no competition inthose two categories but Best female video...c'mon now. She was up against Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Mariah Carey. Serious, all three of their videos were 10x better than Piece of Me. I think they let her just to keep the supense of her performing or wuteva. Did u notice how she was like so prepared to get the award once they put the camera on her...like she was on the edge of her sit doing her nominated categories. DDDD: Then she gave us this lame speech and it just didn't feel sincere. She won her first VMA award and yet she gave us this short, whack ass speech. I still like her but wtf?

As for Russell, no one knew who he was to know his humor. At first I thought he was a washed-up rock star of something but that was negative. The only time I laughed at his jokes was when he called bush retarded and like asked america if were that retarded to vote for another Bush. :laugh Other than that, I wanted him to shut up.

I actually liked him. He was good. He was lively, energetic. Whitty and quick with his words and kept the crowd laughing and gasping. He did his job well. I was iffy on how he would do but he surprised me.

You want to see a bad host, watch DL Hughley host something or the Old Wayan's Brother. Terrible, but hilarious, because it's embarrassing.

As for Britney. She didn't deserve the awards but of course the fans would rally up behind and vote for her. Of course some of the motivation was to just to get her up on stage and to see if she would make a fool out of herself.

Quite the contrary though. She was very poise. Kept it short and sweet and GENERIC.

Luv ~Venus~ 8th September 2008 11:56 PM

^DL Hughley was funny and energic but it was the freakin' crowd that was dull. The crowd now and days at awards shows are just negative/dull/stiff. I don't wanna sound stereotypical or anything but the crowd (when the majority of them are white) at award shows are always stiff and dull when it comes to Black people hosting. The same thing happened to Chris Rock when he hosted the Oscar awards. He was unny but the crowd was so damn stiff and unenergic. Just lame and have no sense of humor. >_>

Re:★ 9th September 2008 12:06 AM

^ Racist! :bchuck

Spoiler:
Nah I get what you mean! But crowds at the Oscars are always boring anyway. =x

Anyway, Britney, hurry up and finish the album already! I'm craving for it now~

Ayumiko 9th September 2008 12:09 AM

Yea she did. I luffed the dress but idk, it;s like it was pushing down her boobs or something. Her figured looked great but she was heavily oily. :laughI hope that wasn't a wig she was wearing like in Gimme More. Her hair should have grown out by now. I thought they could have done better with her hair. I luffed the ponytail she had when she showed up to some occasion with K.Fed.

You really are a HATER! I felt it the first time... Now it's confirmed... :yes

PS: Who are you to say SHE DOESN'T DESERVE THE AWARDS SHE GOT? Oh c'mon, what are you doing in this thread anyways? Go b*****ing around somewhere else!

I SO agree. Britney has made such amazing videos throughout her career, to be honest I can't think of anyone this decade who has been a better video artist. Haters to the left.

The Britney skit in the beginning was kinda lame but seeing her happy and all smiles was totally enough for me. And she looked great! As for the show itself....meh, I tuned out pretty quickly and watched my fave performers online. Russell seems like a cool guy, but the jokes were kinda eh. I liked him more than Sarah Silverman last year though. And it kinda irked me how VH1 and MTVJams were off the air during the ceremony to get more people to watch.

I wouldn't be surprised, probably to add to the ~comeback~ theme she has going on. But I don't really mind because she should've already had one and the whole VMA thing is a joke to me anyway.

And Yea, Cori, her Blackout pvs were complete ****. =/ I really did down her PV queen status. I was just hoping that her next video will be something like IAS4U or Toxic.

I think has a nice nice. It may not be strong but it's certainly is sweet and soft-like. When people talk about her lip-syncing, I don't give a crap because her stage persences is great. She's never been expected to sing great or anything but the songs she performs are always catchy. I just hope she dominates the VMAs tommorrow and regain her status are a performer.

Thank You!!!, Rihanna...I'm so over her already, and her new song doesn't fit her musically at all, it just seems like a big mistake in my opinion. What made me ever angrier about Rihanna is last year at the VMA's when Brit had her "slip-up" per se she started laughing and I was just disgusted I think it's disrespectful to do that to another artist...especially one who's better then you. I just think Rihanna's starting to turn arrogant, I loved her before but now it's like I want her to fall off the face of the earth. I would have rather seen Brit perform, but the dress she was wearing was just delectable!, I liked X-Tina's performance...although I couldn't tell it was her at first cause my sis changed the channel for about a minute.

I saw a lot of Celebrities laughing at Britney last year.

Celaphorce 9th September 2008 07:39 AM

^Rihanna was the most irritating though, I didn't laugh cause I didn't find it funny. The only person I really saw on camera was Rihanna laughing and teh only reason I care is because she's not as big of an artist with recognition(not to say she doesn't have ANY) like Brit.

I saw no one laughing except Rihanna. Some looked shocked, but no one was laughing except her.
