I think it's important to try your hardest to like something if it's from an artist you really love :heart

I get what you are saying...kinda. But doesn't it say something more if you don't force yourself to like something just because its tagged with a famous name? I think it shows a lot about what type of fan you are if you continue to support an artist even if you don't agree with some of their works.

A dedicated fan? :yes

milky_way 16th August 2008 04:02 AM

So yeah, I really like Kettobase you guys :heart

xiaou-xijiang 16th August 2008 04:03 AM

I think a dedicated fan of hikki's wouldn't have to force himself or herself. Just be optimistic about the next release and not give up on the artist all together if you don't like something they'd previously released. That would be my definition of a dedicated fan.

PS: @milky:
Kettobase was my obsession a few weeks back. :heart it still is kinda. but at a more cooled down phase.

No, that doesn't sound like a real, hardcore fan like me. JE fans are more like me, and some of the crazy Ayumi fans here :yes We love whatever the artist puts out, even if it's total crap.

Luv ~Venus~ 16th August 2008 04:10 AM

^Uh-oh! You just spoke bad about JE! *steps away from the Hikki thread*

Edit: I just confirmation for the Kaori that he didn't speak bad about them. :)

GRACE 16th August 2008 04:10 AM

Your kind of fan seems like a "bat-**** insane hardcore fan" really =/... But, nothing wrong with being insane after all, sanity is far too overrated.

I love Kettobase too <3~ It was one of my favorites a while back <3

Yes, I've noticed Hikki has the craziest fans ever... even crazier than Ayumi. :yes

and that's where you and I will always disagree. I won't submit to forcing myself to like something I obviously don't and you try to (which is weird since you've admitted to hating a few tracks yourself) for your own reasons.
I don't believe in becoming a "hard core" fan because I don't feel the need to worship everything about an artist. I respect an artist for hard work and good music. Not for breathing and not for making something I know I don't like. :no

I will always respect Hikki mind you. She's made too big an impact on the way I see music and music in Japan in general for me not to respect her. Not liking Heart Station isn't going to change that.

Believe it or not, I've actually seen worse.

:shrug I guess... but I'm just saying that me and my fandom towards Hikki. I will like anything she puts out (or FORCE myself) because I love her :weep

EDIT: I think Hikki fans are pretty civil compared to Ayu fans. That's like watching a cat fight on girls gone wild. Hair pulling and "yo momma"

that's your way/business/opinion. I respect it and in a werid way I kinda get it. just don't expect me to agree or like everything that she does and we're square.

GRACE 16th August 2008 04:19 AM

*cough*cassiopeiaiscrazier*cough*

I still hope for at least one more Kremlin Dusk. At least one, or at least partially one, it'd be awesome.

xiaou-xijiang 16th August 2008 04:21 AM

^iono Kremlin Dusk kinda feels like that one of a kind track. like anything else that tries to build on it will just seem pale in comparison. PS: I love Kremlin Dusk. :heartx3

GRACE 16th August 2008 04:23 AM

Or or or, Hikki should do an upbeat song about cannibalism ala Sondheim~ A cover of A Little Priest would be awesome, just because I love that song.

*sigh~* I'm allowed to dream, right?

xiaou-xijiang 16th August 2008 04:30 AM

^dude that'd be so twisted. I love it!
have a little priest
...
Sir, it's too good, at least!
Then again, they don't commit sins of the flesh,
So it's pretty fresh

can you imagine Hikki with wild hair in an apron parading around with those kinds of pies?

Spoiler:
oddly enough I can :shakehead

EDIT: I adored that scene. Best song in the movie I swear. :D Even if the whole movie was twisted, grimy, dirty, and sick I fell in love. :heart

But alas, I doubt Hikki would be in to that sort of thing.

GRACE 16th August 2008 04:33 AM

^Yes, I can totally see it! Mrs. Utadett and her lovely meat pies, that'd be the concept for the PV.

EDIT: I know what you mean <3~ Yeah, I could doubt her doing it too, but it'd be AWESOME

The b-side could be By The Sea.

dddaiyamondo 16th August 2008 04:41 AM

Umm, when did this thread get totally hijacked by total nonsensical people?

GRACE 16th August 2008 04:48 AM

It'd be awesome though... She could find someone to duet with, it'd just be so cool. There's no chance in hell she'd do it, but I can dream =/...

Here, to know what we're talking about: A Little Priest

Anyway, I just hope Hikki stays herself even when trying to be in America.

xiaou-xijiang 16th August 2008 04:50 AM

^its not nonsensical...you just don't get it.
Here's the 411 on the DL: in the Movie Sweeny Todd there's this song: A Little Priest.
GRACE was commenting on how it'd be totally jake if Hikki covered it, even though there's zero to no chance of that happening.

EDIT: I'd love to see this hikki splash in USA. I didn't really get to see much of her personality OS as I do here. Which isn't her fault, she didn't really have that much of chance to what with the lack of publicity and the like. Pretty much only the people who already knew her as Utada Hikaru where exposed to Utada.
