I don't think that Kuu sampled them. That beat is also used by BlackBerry, the phone, as one of their built-in ringtones. Whoever wrote that beat sold it to a few different people.

I thought she also bought the demo since there is a English version of this song that is really good.

kuu just bought the demo from phrased differently just as she did with MORE and Run For Your Life.

Kuu and her team uses some (western) songwriter pretty frequently like phrased differently. And all songs from them are great so far imo!
As well as Tommy Henriksen , who did both flawless BUT and FREAKY.
But I'd like to see some more japanese ones as well again, more Hiro would be great!
Just listened to her first three albums again and I seriously wonder, how a "japanese only" album would sound like today.

Did I mention it here before? I found Daisuke Imai who wrote a lot of her 2006< songs like Candy, Hot Stuff, Promise, Rock Your Body etc on twitter a few months ago and I sent him a tweet saying I loved his work with Kumi and if they're ever going to work together again and he replied with "Thanks! I want to work with her soon hopefully" or something like that but he deleted his account :( I loove the majority of his songs and I think the last full song he did for her was Always and then INTRODUCTION for TRICK.
