I wonder just what his goal is in doing this.

VegetaLove 4th May 2012 09:47 PM

Maybe he didn't get money he was wanting in some sort of settlement.
Maybe he's still very heartbroken and getting frustrated/angry.
Maybe he just wants attention again after getting a taste of it when he was with Ayu.

Time will tell I guess...

I was reading over some of Ayu's old tweets and totally forgot about this one:

That's a wrap on 1 of our videos!!! But it was very sad story...my hubby was on my mind all day..Miss my hubby;(((
She must be referring to Return Road but I always thought she knew at that time that she was going to divorce him. Though maybe because the PV came out post-divorce (or divorce announcement anyway) that's the way I view it.

Or maybe she was just posting about Mannie to keep up the pretence of the marriage at that point...she probably wanted to make it last at least a year!

The Return Road video is the one thing that makes me believe the whole thing was a farce, right up to, and including, the Mannie tweets now.

The whole hubby/wife thing from day one, Vegas, and just... the whole overdose of it on Twitter. Well, RR isn't the one thing, but the one big creative aspect of her career I guess.

I always wondered about this too. Some people have said that its supposed to be a continuation of the Virgin Road story, but its all just too convenient to me. But, at the same time, I don't think that any one wants the possibility that Ayu lied to us. At this point, I would really like to know the truth, though Ayu has no obligation to tell it to us.

truehappiness 5th May 2012 05:01 AM

Ayu has been 'subconsciously' projecting feelings of divorce in all of her music on FIVE, so the divorce was coming for quite some time.

happiholic★ 5th May 2012 05:11 AM

^Then why tweet about missing Mannie on the set of Return Road?

I'm also curious as to why Ayu said in a magazine article that Return Road wasn't related to Virgin Road, when it clearly is?

Delirium-Zer0 5th May 2012 05:59 AM

It's totally possible that ayu still loved mannie but knew the marriage wasn't working and was falling apart when she did RR. It's entirely possible to mourn a relationship when you see its end coming, but it hasn't actually ended yet, especially when you're hoping it won't actually end.

TeamAyu2004 5th May 2012 06:15 AM

you can love someone but realize that you are in two different places and it is no longer praticale to be married.
For all we know both parties still love each other but want very different things in life and therefore can no longer be married.

Delicious n Bold 5th May 2012 06:19 AM

I'm gonna come out and say that I believe Ayu should have dated him for at least 2-3 years to get to know him properly before she got married to him.
You know, to go through differences and all that.
To me, the marriage seemed rushed.

happiholic★ 5th May 2012 06:25 AM

Understandable, but from her tweet, she made it seem that they were still into each other.

tbh, I think there are a lot of members on here who agree with you. When news broke of Ayu's divorce there were many people, myself included, who said they were not surprised it was happening because of the very reason you stated. I think that if perhaps they had dated before getting married they may have worked on in the long run. Provided it wasn't just a PR stunt anyway.

That wasn't quite correct - someone mentioned that was along the lines of what she said before we had gotten a true translation. What she actually said was something like "if listeners choose to believe so then that is their choice" or whatever. You know, some vague B.S. way to avoid the question.

truehappiness 5th May 2012 07:56 AM

The reason why Virgin Road isn't necessarily related to Return Road is because Virgin Road was written as a thank you to her mother with a hypothetical husband/man in mind. You can read into it all you want, but before she even met Mannie who was cast for the PV, she had finished the song (unless there's something that says otherwise).

Return Road = DIRECTLY related to her divorce and marriage to Mannie.
Virgin Road = a thank you message to her mother through song speaking as though she has found the love of her life (not specifically Mannie or anyone else... it was more general than anything imo), HOWEVER he was featured in the PV which seems to make people think that Virgin Road (the song) was about him.

Zeke. 5th May 2012 08:14 AM

Yep, when in fact November was the song written about him.

saigodansu 5th May 2012 09:43 AM

She never said November was about him either. She said if you ever knew the meaning you'd be surprised. And her response to everyone thinking songs on FIVE were about him was telling the interviewer that none were about him. In fact she has never said any song was about him. And November like many said when AHS 1st got the lyrics, read like it was written about a woman, not a man.

Andrenekoi 5th May 2012 10:16 AM

^So... Ayu is a lesbian! :D

ExodusUK 5th May 2012 10:39 AM

You people have no idea what you're talking about, stop speculating and grasping at straws.

saigodansu 5th May 2012 10:54 AM

grasping at nothing, just stating that according to Ayu, who most on AHS say would never lie to her fans, no lyrics were ever about Mannie, anyone claiming everything is about him is grasping at straws

My personal opinion, all statements and press releases being completely ignored and going by what's seen but never talked about, is that every relationship in her personal life has been hidden from the public and what the fans and press get to see is only what Avex wants seen for the image they want presented. So I think her interview response about our being shocked about the real truth behind November is true, but the truth will never be said to the fans or press.

kinix 5th May 2012 11:05 AM

if every sad/break up song ayu sang is about her real relationship then she would have broken up with at least 15 guys...

emi♡ 5th May 2012 11:43 AM

she probably has :laugh

I'm sure Ayu is no shrinking violet.
