I love Melody so much! :love

Yeah, Melody is usually the type of ayu song that I kind of like but never listen to. But I love it lol, especially the chorus.

I love all the songs on this mini quite a lot. Like I was pretty excited to hear them.

About the PVs... with so much potential, badly executed. Something like Return Road suffered more recently.

Really, I think it's time to change her cast of directors. Nothing really happens and it doesn't have the minimal logic, "story" or variation in the scenes. I'm not asking too much, it just that I don't want to see Ayu in a pretty scenario doing the same thing for a long time 'till the music stops. Only.

I think the last PV that I really liked and said OMFG THIS IS AWESOME was "Don't look back", and we're talking about 2010, yeah.

Song 4 u and Missing deserved more, and the outfits for the first one were fantastic. It's a shame..

I just hope they don't take a "trendy" director of nowadays who just want to make a party, dancing scene, multiple colors, young people, fashion clothes, jewelry, fake trendies and stuff. This would be horrible. Or not. I'm wondering about it now sincerely.

^ :) and don't forget to include Pitbull, XD

^^I agree with you that Rock'n'Roll Circus PVs were stunning (minus Lady Dynamite).

But I have to give credit to the director for attempting to do something more artsy than direct in your face. I mean, we have had PVs like You were... and crossroad which lie more on the subtle and nuanced side. (and these PVs are clearly on another level compared to Shake It and NaNaNa ><).

I kinda foresaw that Song 4 u would not have any 'violence' LOL. If they were to make a CG PV, then any physical contact between the ayu would be so fake..and different for Ayu herself. Yes, inspired from the McQueen show but I believe the steps were thought out and crafted by the directors and producers. The McQueen show didnt really have the models memorise anything..lights help to light the way. The idea I got from the PV was that, no matter what you do, what step you take, you have to face yourself ultimately, face your other self.

In Missing, we kinda compare it to BALLAD because of the setting. In BALLAD, we had this unreal tall grassland and how Shuya was sending letters upwards to Ayu (who was alive). Its as though reality was ABOVE. But in Missing, reality seems to be grounded. People floating upwards (they could be souls, they could be dead, they could symbolize memories) and disappearing ultimately. It just seemed to me like the reverse of BALLAD. The last scene just reinforces the (continued) idea that Ayu is alone.

well, at least thats what I perceive from the PV. Not that I'm imposing a meaning on it but kinda how I viewed it. Still, they are incredible songs..and of course we would love something with a more direct message and all.

And calvin harris for good measure.

jyujiw 4th November 2012 05:20 AM

Please no. xD

I love Melody the most out of the new tracks. I'm still really thinking of this release as a maxi-single, since I don't really listen to remixes and these ones don't seem like anything special... :innocent

Didz-19 4th November 2012 06:56 AM

Probably "Melody" PV will be on "again" album~~maybe~~

there is a full Song 4 u PV on this Ayu fanpage (if it doesn't work, then propably you must like the fanpage)

I'm quite dissapointed, but I was prepared for that. I still love how this PV looks, it chess theme etc. Too bad is so short and nothing really happens :P

Missing full PV is there too.

Nothing more than in the preview. She's not so emotional that she used to be xD

Funny that the Rock'n'Roll Circus PVs are mentioned because Masashi Muto did a lot of those. (and he later did almost everything on Love songs, FIVE, and Party Queen.)

I kinda wish she'd work with Hideaki Sunaga (Don't look back, GAME) for a PV soon but Masashi seems to be her go to guy.

The only issue nowadays really is that she has one director basically doing EVERYTHING as opposed to having two by one director, two by someone else, and one by another.

TeamAyu2004 4th November 2012 10:34 AM

she needs to get a whole new slew of people to director her videos...
they have been pretty bad since RnR circus... :(

Foyuki 4th November 2012 10:46 AM

^yup
I'm tired of Masashi Muto= =

Corvina 4th November 2012 10:55 AM

Ok, Melody is still ma fav song of the mini.
I love it so much! It's indeed a great melody! :D
Not comparable to beloved or Sweet Season at all for me, cause I hate those songs, lol.
Missing is nice as well, though something is missing for me right know (hm, no pun intended! XD ).
Still don't care about Song 4 u, pretty boing for me.

Yea i know. he's style really varies. He probably has amazing concepts but sometimes the execution comes across as appearing subtle and vague.

Microphone and SLT were just to-die-for PVs. Virgin Road as well. I think he aces better at the more ambitious outdoor shoots (hbya being one exception)? Return Road (to me) was actually rather nice. but NaNaNa..i dnno what happened.

Yes Hideaki Sunaga omgawd. please come back

I kinda sorta maybe slightly somewhat a touch wanna take back everything bad I said about Melody. I kinda sorta maybe slightly somewhat a touch like it.

oh, please, stop it :p lol...

its just going to be one of those ballads that you will end up being content with, almost on the verge of bringing you to tears because it has some hidden special potential . It's just so bland that there is nothing special about it. Not saying it wont go down in history as a classic ballad years later, but as of right now... its just...
bland. (this is how I felt about Dearest way back in the day, but now love it... so I think Ill give it 2/3 years... lol)

im prepared and already set my mind for this :tired

btw, I really really LOVE melody, the arrangement and the base sounds good, the piano at the end is perfect and overall it sounds like a boyband song :luv2

Missing 's arrangement is godly!

Song 4 U, still i wish it would be longer ,somehow I prefer the orchestra version, glorious tale feel in there!

Mari-chan 4th November 2012 12:15 PM

My favourite song on the Album is "Missing". I really love that song. But Song 4 you and Melody also really good song. But I wished, the PV's would be a bit more interessting. It is nice to watch.. but nothing really happens.

LeeLeeNeko 4th November 2012 12:31 PM

Damn I'm beginning to hate Masahi Muto. His PVs always have potential etc, but they're so damn boring sometimes. Is it because of a lack of budget ?! Because honestly I don't think they're spending SO much for these...
I mean, she might have shot a lot of different scenes for "Song 4 u", the idea was original and it seems very well executed, but in the end nothing's happening tbh. So disappointed of it... "Missing" is beautiful but basically after 1 min you've seen the whole video.

It's like they're relying on ONE original thing all the time to make the whole PV interesting ? :rolleyes
