While I enjoyed MUSE I hope Play has more uptempos than ballads on the album.

MUSE had 6 upbeat songs for 5 ballads.
This time we have 10 tracks so I think it will be like her previous albums that had 10 songs: 6 upbeat songs and 4 ballads.

As a relatively new fan of Jolin, for me, the songs that really made me a huge fan were:

I don´t know why some international fans still expect next Myself album, even if next song coming from this album is ballad.
A mostly upbeat album is really not going to happen with her recent label. She can´t risk another flop like Myself.

I checked the Wikipedia where is mentioned she is called also Diva and Pride of Taiwan by Taiwanese media but it is not very reliable source for C-pop info ;)

It's reminding me of something: in the first place the order of MUSE promotional songs was supposed to be like this.
Jolin chose this order while Warner's CEO was in Beijing... You can see that she wanted to focus on upbeat songs. But when Warner's CEO came back he was like "LOL NO". He scrapped everything and chose Wandering Poet as 2nd promo song instead.
Concerning PLAY, she produced everything from beginning to end. But it has been revealed that Warner could have scrapped the album if they did not like it.
So her hands are a bit tied by her label and most of all by the market, even if she has much more freedom than before.


I was too lazy to count the mid-tempo ones so I just put them in the "upbeat" category since they're not ballads lol
Wait, Spying On You Behind The Fence is mid-tempo for you? It's quite upbeat though.

I found a recent article and they're calling her "亚洲天后", "Diva of Asia". It seems that it can also be translated as "Asia's Heavenly Queen" lol

Since K-Pop sites translated the article about the so-called plagiarism, Sones came to watch the MV, and some of them... Well lol
And OMG some people from both sides are overreacting, and/or being really, really rude. And LOL at the guy who believes that Jolin actually filmed that scene naked. Just LOL XD
I hope it won't give Jolin too much bad press though >_<

Because of discussion, i have watched Myself dvd again. Since Honey Trap and album's Cover shown, i felt somthing new this album would give me. Freshness, excited, fun and amazing were what i knew. Every songs released as its single were really good even if familiar ballad, Small Wound, just put "Strange-Beep" sound in it. I go crazy by dancing and sound of "Honey Trap" and "Butterflies In My Stomach", even healthy-sexy look in "Love Player". I praise dancable ballad that she presents in "Nothing left to say". She is also lovely and cheerfully woman though "Take Immediately Effect" is her expert style. However, last song in this album that i can't remember and Patrick Star are two i always skip

All above is the reason why i rank Myself is No.5 of my favorite album by Jolin <Behind Castle, J-Game, Magic, Butterfly>
