Is it just me or Spotify joined all her releases (USA and Japan ones) at "Utada"?

dreamalley 12th January 2018 04:44 PM

Well, in my Spotify she has two profiles: Utada & Utada Hikaru.

Utada Hikaru has the full Japanese discography + Exodus
Utada only has Exodus & the Come Back to Me song.

I noticed that a couple of days ago her UH pic was from Sakura Nagashi and now it changed to Fântome.

Exactly. Some fans just have a bias towards it because it's not some ~super deep and brooding masterpiece~ like all her other Japanese albums are to them. It's a fantastic and fun record.

This Is The One is an amazing album. Apple and Cinnamon >>>>>>

thinkingoutloud89 12th January 2018 07:32 PM

FIY is the best one

mi|kshake 12th January 2018 09:20 PM

I found TITO bland & uninspiring. It just wasn't Hikaru-y enough for me. I love me some fun pop music but this just did not do it for me. Man I was sooooo disappointed when I first heard this album.

thinkingoutloud89 12th January 2018 09:30 PM

^you don't have to like every album in an artists body of work. I guess it is just natural to sometimes dislike certain things, but also for the artist to try different stuff.

mi|kshake 12th January 2018 09:32 PM

^It's rare for me to dislike an entire album though!!

I remember buying This Is The One at the music store. It was so cool to see Utada on the store shelves in America.:yes
I loved that album. It's a solid pop/r&b album and that basically was the intention and concept of the album.

I like Take 5.

The album version just stopped abruptly, I thought something wrong with the disc or my player when I first time listen to it 😆 freaked me out. But I like the Wild Life live version ☺️

It was the theme song for the series Hana Yori Dango, a huge hit in Japan. I assume it's nostalgy that mantains that song in such high standards even nowadays.

This completely. It did exactly what it was meant to, and it was really cool to see Hikki take on that Western R&B sound and mold it to her personality. Me Muero and FYI were always my biggest favorites.

I hope they get the rest of her discography on Spotify USA soon. I still can't find it. :o

The R&B hikki in Lonely One... didn't expect to hear that hikki for a long time lol

Andrenekoi 17th January 2018 12:20 PM

Nariaki Obukuro (Fantôme's "Tomodachi") released a new single and it features Utada. It's called "Lonely One" and it's available on Spotify.

Flavor of life is good but ONLY the original mix! The original mix is so SICK! I just love it. But that ballad mix is so god awful. If it comes on shuffle I normally skip it right away but if I’m not close to my laptop and try to let it play I just can’t stomach it and have to go change it.

And Take 5 is a majestic piece of art.
