A friendly visit turned into a musical collaboration

MadonnaTribe has just heard an exclusive report from the recent session in Los Angeles which is likely to bring yet another collaborator to the new Madonna album.

While Madonna was putting the finishing touches to her new album at RecordPlant studios in L.A. last week, Kanye West was recording his own stuff in the next room.
Kanye was actually working on the new Michael Jackson album - and it may be just a fortunate coincidence that brought him to temporarely switch from the King to the Queen of Pop.

Pharrell - who was working with Madonna next door - invited Kanye in to meet her, the two hooked up and Madonna came up with an idea for Kanye to rap on one of her songs on the spot!
Here you go: add Kanye to the list.
YES YES YES! I love Kanye West and I really hope this appears on a final recording somewhere. :luv2

AMAZING! I'm really anticipating this album. I don't think I have ever anticipated a musical release this much (maybe Confessions?).

LEOyumi 13th November 2007 04:06 PM

OMG. I get disappointed with each new info about this album D=
I hope this album surprises me in a good way, but I'm not sure it will happen. >_>~

Cyria 13th November 2007 06:05 PM

I want to listen to Madonna and so I'm not a fan of collaborations, but if a rapper ends up on the album Kanye is a better choice than the others who were rumoured to appear.

cloud♥honey 13th November 2007 10:00 PM

Her new album will be just in stores 2011 XD

She'll change the tracklist 10820172912912120182 times and remix the songs 1820917291820182391829172 times 'till we listen the album. And probably in this date, all songs will be leaked in 10000000 versions :laugh

I'm getting disappointed with her. To be honest, I HATED A LOT Candy Shop and The Beat Goes On. I know they won't be in the album, but it's obvious that is this style that she did into the album.

kinomaniac 13th November 2007 10:10 PM

^ OMG, I loved Candy Shop! Its beat is so fresh! Correct if I'm wrong, but it's not confirmed that those tracks won't be in the album, as well it's confirmed if they will.

cloud♥honey 13th November 2007 10:12 PM

I saw in Madonna Online that she said "Candy Shop" and "The Beat Goes On" won't be in the album.

Vinylfantasy 13th November 2007 10:16 PM

We don't know anything for sure on the album tracklisting yet so we could very well see CS and TBGO on it. As for the rest of the album, I'm betting it will sound very different because the tracks you mentioned are just ones she did with Pharrell. I've mentioned tons of producers that she's worked with on this project and they all sound very different from one another. I think a lot of fans are lumping all of them into one category because they don't really like R&B. Go listen to Timbaland's CD, Britney's latest CD, and Gwen Stefani's latest CD and I think you'll see how stark the difference in production is.

Nothing has been confirmed on the new album yet. At all. (except for a ballpark release date). Unless it comes from Liz Rosenberg, Warner Brothers, or an official Madonna site (Madonna.com or ICON) then it is not confirmed.

kinomaniac 13th November 2007 10:26 PM

^ That's the reason I'm really excited about this album (other than it being an album by M). So many different people working on it. I wonder how the final thing will sound. I'm anticipating the Stuart Price collaborations.

New look under discussion

Drowned Madonna has been informed that Madonna will film her appearance for the upcoming Annie Lennox's new video "Sing" within the next 2 weeks.

She is thinking, JUST THINKING, of going brown for the video.

Also the new album could be launched using a brunette look a-la-Frozen but with a much more in your face sense of fashion.

Word is that the new Madonna's look for next year could be more punk than rap.

We remind you that this is JUST ONE of the options under consideration right now.

I'd love it if she went brunette again, she is so gorgeous that way.

Arianne Phillips ready to style the new album?
Posted: 13 November 2007 - Thanks to Seth

A small piece of album-related news comes from an article on the Santa Cruz Sentinel yesterday about longtime Madonna collaborator Arianne Phillips.

The stylist talks in an interview about her current and upcoming projects, with the article mentioning that 'she'll also be working on Madonna's next album', adding that, as the fans well know, 'she has worked with Madonna for years'.

"Time goes by so slowly..."
but definitely not in this case! It seems like only yesterday we were downloading that little snippet of Hung Up and calling in to confess on M's Have You Confessed? podcast. She turned the world into a giant dancefloor and boy was it a ride to remember. :)

I saw pics of Guy taking Lourdes to see Hairspray the musical in London. That's a good choice.

Madonna, Gucci team up for Malawi charity gig

Madonna is joining forces with luxury goods maker Gucci to raise funds for orphans in Malawi, from where she has been trying to adopt a child since last year.

The U.S. singer and Gucci will host a fundraising event with dinner, musical performance and a party on Feb. 6 next year to mark the opening of Gucci's largest store in the world, on New York's Fifth Avenue.

Madonna said the event will benefit UNICEF and the charity she co-founded in 2006, Raising Malawi, which focuses on trying to end the poverty and hardship suffered by Malawi's one million orphans, many of whose parents died of AIDS.

"I am grateful that Gucci is joining forces with me to bring attention to a country with millions of children in desperate need of our help," Madonna said in a statement.

"Raising Malawi has already done tremendous work in helping these children. But we have much more to do and this event will surely bring us closer to our goal."

Madonna and her husband Guy Ritchie's bid to adopt David Banda from Malawi has hit several stumbling blocks since they took the 13-month-old boy from the African country last year. He had been placed in an orphanage by his father after the death of his mother.

Rights groups have accused Madonna of using her fame and wealth to circumvent the country's adoption rules although the singer has insisted she is following the law.

Malawi's High Court is to hold a hearing next year into whether Madonna and Ritchie are suitable parents and should adopt the child.

The New York event is expected to raise at least $2 million with Madonna joined by a list of celebrity co-chairs in the event including Adrien Brody, Arpad Busson, Salma Hayek and Francois-Henri Pinault, Tea Leoni, Lucy Liu, Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Gucci, which is owned by French retailer PPR , has been a UNICEF corporate partner since 2004.

Caryl Stern, president and CEO of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, thanked Madonna and Gucci and said AIDS remained one of the most devastating public health problems in recent history.

"Every day, 6,000 children lose a parent to AIDS, and 1,400 children die from AIDS," Stern said in the statement.

Also, here's the new promo CD for Sing.

Madge + Gucci = awesomeness
Madge + Gucci + charity = *speechless*

I can't wait to watch the video for Sing. Maybe it'll make me feel less anxious for new material from our diva.

Vinylfantasy 17th November 2007 12:15 AM

Turns out Drowned Madonna was just talking out of their ass as usual, the video premiered a few days ago and no M to be found.

kinomaniac 17th November 2007 02:50 AM

What?

...
Eh, I'm disappointed! I read something like that in madonnaonline.com.br, but I guess we'll just have to wait for real new M stuff then. *goes to listen to the new remix of Sorry*

Vinylfantasy 17th November 2007 07:02 AM

You can go to Steven Klein's website and see tons of cool footage, especially from X-Static Process. There's the video from the exhibition and a short clip from the official recording of the Reinvention Tour under Concert Projects. Ariake and Get Together are also on there.

kinomaniac 17th November 2007 02:51 PM

Thanks for the tip! I've been really needing some fresh Madonna material lately. It's like an abstinence crisis.

only 20 posts until we get a Part III
