To see the difference in sales.

1->1->1->1->1 - DREAMS COME TRUE - 8,896 + 9,259 + 8,132 + 12,249 + 10,826 = 49,362
2->2->2->2->2 - Hamasaki Ayumi - 8,161 + 8,939 + 7,209 + 5,759 + 5,280 = 35,348

Woah, so Ayu's become much more relaxed than before. I think that's really interesting, what brought about her change in her image and all.

I hope NEXT LEVEL sales will continue in this way for the next few weeks. :D Around 40k for the next few weeks. XD

And how come DCT got such a large rise in sales in the last 2 days? It wasn't a weekend boost either. They had some kind of specific successful promotion? Ayu's sales on the other hand dropped for the last 2 days.

Chef+Vanny 4th April 2009 01:37 PM

12k suddenly popped out for DCT
any significant event that is accounted for the rise in sale?

~Inori~ 4th April 2009 01:40 PM

Someone said it was because they were on NHK songs, or something like that.

there was a TV show that featured them, look a few pages back. Oh well seems it won't sell more than 40k this week. So I guess 300k is near.

koumori 4th April 2009 01:44 PM

Well, she's keeping firmly to #2! <3

Go Ayu-chan! ^___^

Well there are still 2 more days and the actual sales of the first week were almost +13,000 from the estimated total number so it might get another few thousands =D.
Maybe 45,000?

Yeah, I forgot that we had Monday this week so there are two more days to go xD So it will most likely be around 50k at best :)

Chef+Vanny 4th April 2009 02:52 PM

I want to see 300k for this week:rolleyes:(

In this case she has 3 weeks to rehearse, she just couldn't let herself promote too much the album obviously or she would mess the rehearsals.

I'm sure she was already rehearsing for the tour shortly after doing recording and stuff.

That's why she had 3 weeks.
She finished shooting the PVs and came back from LA 2 weeks before the album release and then she needed to shoot the rest of the magazine shots.
She did say the rehearsals started meanwhile without her.
She prefer putting a great effort in the tour over the album's promotion and that's really a great choice for her (not so much for the album promotion though) but as the tour itself also promotes it I hope that besides a great show she will give, it will give some help to the album.

No one really knows how much time she had to prepare for the old albums. Back then she didn't post much on TA and we didn't know the progress of the albums at all. I think she was much more busy before. We can use 2002 as an example:

01.01 - I am released, lots of promotions
March - Daybreak, ayu-mi-x 4
April - Free & Easy (promotions, new cms)
July - H (quite a lot of promotions for 3 songs)
Sep - Voyage
Oct to Nov - lots of new cms, magazines shots, etc.
Dec - RAINBOW, award ceremonies, etc.

And don't forget she had TWO tours in 2002: the usual AT, and the Stadium Tour. She also started doing "Ayu Ready?" in October. So to me I really think she could be rushing out the albums as well.

I dun really think what Sunshine implied is ayu is "lazy" or something like that. What he's trying to say could be "if ayu did some more promotions, the album might have better sales", and I think this is pretty logical. Of course I dun mind ayu not going to do many promotions because she should have her own life instead of doing unacceptably crazy promotions. I do wish she would attend a few more shows tho simply because I wanna see her on live. That's all.

1. I did assume that some of her other albums had been done with more time. I never said this was true.
2. I never said SunshineSlayer called ayu lazy, I was just using the term to make a point.

Even with RAINBOW's schedule being like that, she did not start a tour straight after its release giving her time to promote, that's the main difference here. And when she has started a tour after, she's had a decent gap between releases around the album giving her time to prepare for tours and promote. And did she really promote RAINBOW with TV lives a lot? I don't remember there being too many, besides the usual christmas/new year lives she does. Even if Ayu finished NEXT LEVEL 2 weeks before it was released, if she didn't have to spend time rehearing for the Arena Tour she would have done a heap of promotion.

I really think she didn't promote because she simply did not have time. I don't think she's boycotted TV lives, her priorities are just elsewhere. The big mistake was organising the Arena Tour for April - but I don't really think Ayu is too concerned with sales and promotion, which is the point SunshineSlayer was sorta making.

She's still selling ok with the little promotion she's done. When the USBs come and her tour starts I'm sure she'll see better sales :)

I agree the sales doesn't affect our enjoyment of the album and the songs. It's just that i get an additional kick out of seeing her sell by the truckloads :P But at least ayu's had her time and now she's a steady presence in the Japanese music scene. Think the USBs will give it an extra 10k at the most but it's better than nothing. Looking forward to the tracklist for the tour.

jbrat2219 4th April 2009 07:28 PM

Looks like she's firmly planted at #2!

rakeru 4th April 2009 11:45 PM

i'm wondering whether it's Ayu who's declined TV appearances or if the stations haven't asked her on. i can't imagine that they wouldn't ask her, so i suppose she's preparing for AT. wish she would take a small break!

tinka69 5th April 2009 04:32 AM

ok. a little surprising. but seriously...why 4 versions? is it really necessary?

Good it the numbers went up a bit. And we still have a day more to go! So 50k might not be impossible considering some stores seem to submit the numbers on the end of the week.

The USBs will be counted on Wednesday next week, and the other set on 17th right?
