Fanbase is quite similar. Because j-pop divas has the same fanbase. I mean, I love Ayu but I listen to Namie, Hikki and Kuu too because they're connected as most know female solo japanese artists. If I've discovered Ayu I'll discover Namie, Hikki and Kuu as well.
Hikki maybe have more fanbase on the not-jpop listeners because of KH, but outside Japan they're almost the same.

An overseas concert would be amazing, but it won't works in my opinion.
Most of the japanese artists release albums with local labels (in France some artist like LM.C, KOKIA, Kana and others have published albums with a french label) or release original english album like Hikki and BoA. Anime conventios are good for japanese singers but if they're mostly knowed in anime fanbase (like Shoko Nakagawa).
She need to release something in USA or Europe before hold a concert.

I'm honestly surprised and incredibly impressed.

It's been years since I've taken part in the forums here, and back when I was active, we wouldn't have dreamed of such opportunity - to meet Ayu personally and hand her a fan book like this. The community has made such an amazing progress.

Keep it up and congratulations to everyone who made their dream come true and saw Ayu with their own eyes! :)

I'm quite confident in the fact that v-kei/jrock bands are way more popular that jpop acts. I know way more people who listen to j-rock and go to j-rock festivals here in the U.S. than I do people who even know who Ayu is. I'm a big fan of both though so there are a chance there are people like that as well. :shrug Maybe it's just where I live, but if a random j-rock act announced a concert around here and Ayu were to do the same, I could almost guarantee people would flock to the random act.

True.
Jrock is huge outside of Japan. For example Dir en Grey managed a good turnout with a US/Canada and Jrock revolution was a sold out event, but at the end they were club and a festival like setup with multiple bands.
A tour of Ayu's current magnitude and extravagance is impossible to succeed so I would love if Ayu would do club dates like Utada but I don't thats likely either.

I don't agree. Not everyone will listen to the "divas" just because they're solo female artists. I listen to Ayu the most, and Namie / Hikki a tiny bit, and most of the other female solo acts I listen to could be considered "anti-divas" haha.

i just want her to come to singapore, how could she missed out here on her previous asia tour???

when a lot of people, malaysia, phillipness, indonesia, australia could come here easily too!
i think avex must be thinking, 'oh, singapore is just a tiny red dot, i doubt there will be so many people, so we might lose money' (=_=)

Actually, I think it was too expensive for Singapore to host Ayu... I recall some article saying something about that when AT07 was going on.

It was a project organized in the forum for fans to write letters to Ayu. Zoomzoom and Makxer worked very hard to put the book together, they print everything and delivered it IN HANDS to Ayu while she was in London :yes

It was a success!

I love this! Thanks so much to those who contributed to it! I am so glad you were able to actually give it to her, and she says something about it in her diary. Doesn't get any better than that!

Until now, I had NO idea what this "A World Is One" is.

Oh.
My.
God.

This is fantastic! This is the biggest step towards Ayu realizing her international fandom, possibly ever! Congratulations to everyone who wrote a letter in it, and got their fandom recognized by Ayu herself. =3
