I think Kuu's aiming at natural effect, rather then kawainess. avex has Ayu for other type of lenses lol

natural looking lenses will have sucess both among gyaru (mature onee-gyaru love them more than circle lenses, circle lenses are for younger type, mainly) and just usual buyers, so I think it's super wise to have them like this!

Ayu aims at the young and Kuu aims at mature audience

and, honestly, I like Kuu's editorial pics and lenses more. I dunno about their quality, but the 'package' is just much more appealing to me :D

the pictures are so so stunning! :thud :luv2

Which is odd, because Ayu is older...

I love the contacts, they are the perfect mix of natural and stand-out. Not too crazy, just right. But, $40 for lenses you can only wear for 30 days is a bit much. I would rather the kind were you pay $20 and get them for 6 months to a year.

to me it's not, Ayu loves that kawaii kira kira stuff, and Kuu since the beginning was using much more mature style. and even now, compare what Kuu's wearing and Ayu with her pink hair :D

idk about price but to me it's quite fair. I buy typical acuvue lens, 30 in a pack, for $35 every month, because my basic curve isn't common 8.6 and they are hard to get. and these are coloured lens, copied off Kuu's eyes

how much Ayu's cost I wonder?

plz read about the damage typical circle lens do to the eyes here http://www.hystericmint.com/

Gustavopc 20th April 2012 01:14 AM

OMG THESE PICS ARE SO HOT HOLY ****!!!!!!!!!! ****ING MAN!!!

Oh, I'm OK now. Still stunned though.

Kouyou 20th April 2012 01:47 AM

I don't really like color contacts, so I don't care too much for Kuu's, but Kuu still looks pretty in these shots.

NintendoHTF1242 20th April 2012 02:36 AM

Kuu is so flawless that the other j-qweens are getting slayed hard by her

I read the article, and I think that this person had problems because she got defective lenses. That being said, I don't think that wearing contacts that are not 100% approved by an optometrist are good to be wearing everyday. Personally, I've stopped wearing them because they started to hurt my eyes. Plus, I learned to love my eye color, more than any other.

I find it kinda strange that the contacts are made to look like her eye... her eyes don't have a black ring around them...

tokyoxjapanxfan 20th April 2012 06:24 AM

Japan has really strict laws about what they release to consumers. While I'm not saying they're 100% safe just because they're being sold in Japan, there's probably a bit of a better chance that the contacts won't be defective.

Of course there are still risks since they aren't professionally fitted to one's eyes. That's why people need to stop wearing them if they feel uncomfortable.

In terms of the current market of colored lenses, Ayu's have a very short life in them. They're supposed to be thrown out after one month. Others tend to be multiple months and or up to one year, like Gackt's.

Kuu is now even "safer" since she only offers a daily option. But Ayu now has a daily option coming out in May.

I have astigmatism, so I'm not sure if any of the circle lenses would fit my eyes. But I do like them, always have. I used to have green lenses I got from a doctor, but lenses in the states don't tend to work for darker eyes, otherwise they obscure vision by being too opaque haha.

I have astigmatism, too! I still wore contacts, lol! I'm really bad. But, I didn't wear them for a long time, just under two years.

Zahara 20th April 2012 08:41 AM

I have astigmatism as well, I'm a contact user when my dry eyes and allergies aren't worked up lol. Been wearing them for about 11 years. I wouldn't mind wearing the ones above, but only in my prescription since I'm blind as a bat.

@ happiholic. I'm the same way. It took me years to like my eye color. I have heterochromia, and I used to get made fun of in middle school for it, now I love my eye color.

emi♡ 20th April 2012 09:38 AM

^that is sooo cool. You would have been the cool kid with the different colored eyes over here lol

I've never worn contacts ever...so...I have no input. But I like the idea of being able to change things.

I like how hers are all sparkly looking.

Minttulatte 20th April 2012 01:27 PM

Kuu's color lenses are so much better looking than others I've seen. She herself looks gorgeous too in those pictures for sure. Flawless queen of jpop~ :heart

black ring because they are still circle lenses I assume? :)
the probs for this person were caused by eoscandylens.com, a superpopular site. yet they are made in China, so idk.

Gustavopc 20th April 2012 03:47 PM

Well, nowadays you have both good and bad material being produced at China, so the fact that they're made there don't say if their quality is good or not... I believe that Kuu wouldn't release those lenses under her name if she wasn't sure of their quality, so I don't worry about this.

Minttulatte 20th April 2012 03:59 PM

I'm sure they have tested these lenses for a while before putting them on sale. :)

Ayu_Love 20th April 2012 07:03 PM

With lenses you're not supposed to wear them for more than 12 hours to let your eyes breathe. I think people forget your still putting a little bit of plastic in your eye for hours LOL. I'm going to get some GEO year contact lenses because I have really gotten into contacts recently. :)

ALfromHELLSING 20th April 2012 11:52 PM

after reading this discussion about lenses I don't wanna buy them anymore. lol $40 for 1 month lenses? no thanks, I'd rather buy some old singles, that I don't have in my collection.

Dude, your eyes must be amazinggggg! Now I'm jealous :laugh My eyes are so brown that they appear black, but I'm not as dark as people who typically have this eye colour. In fact, most of my relatives have blue, green and other light coloured eyes, so I always felt left out. But, my big black eyes make me look really young and starry eyed, so its all good.

Don't tell Kuu, I don't want her to be mad that we are losing her money. :laugh
