Does this mean we won't be able to buy Ayu's albums outside of Japan anymore? Will it also apply to mu-mo+tenso?

Not too sure about mu-mo+tenso, but it would seem so that this restriction applies to artists, so Ayu, as well.

That screenshot with the Koda Kumi CD is very telling.

WTF? I do not like the sound of this article at all!!

Does this mean Avex won't release any overseas versions for Korea etc that we can buy instead? What happens to albums we have already ordered e.g. I have ordered Kumi's latest albums due out next month?

I know a lot of Avex stuff is on iTunes but I will be quite gutted if I can never buy an Ayu CD again. Also quite pissed off given how much I have spent on items from Avex over the last 10+ years!!

tokyoxjapanxfan 14th February 2017 10:45 PM

What in the actual hell?
How ridiculous!

Literally I'm like so confused.

It doesn't affect me but that's not the point. What would Avex benefit from this? While I don't think they're making ~millions~ from overseas markets, they're still making money. And what company says no to money? Particularly one so famous at sucking fans dry.

truehappiness 15th February 2017 12:05 AM

That is an odd decision. I wonder if they'll take the ban back after a while...?

Some think that this may be because they will be starting to sell items overseas themselves.

Sorry to change the topic but I was searching for some Ayu magazines and found this ViVi from July 2000 and OMG look how different she looks!! She always have been a chamaleon...

^ ayuvogue said that they emailed CDJapan and they replied that it only affects Avex Pictures (i.e. anime and stuff like that), so jpop is safe for now

Ayu should re-record Love Song to match her live performance of it. I just listened to the album version for the first time in forever, and it really can't hold a flame to the live version.

koumori 15th February 2017 08:19 PM

People were talking about the new Avex export rules over here, just in case anyone wants to find out more about it.

TeamAyu2004 15th February 2017 10:55 PM

OMG, I have been on such an old ayumi kick. Like 2001-2003 (M - No way to say) Cant get enough of this era. And for it to me on streaming services...
YASSSSSSS

For me studio version is better than live versions of it, she doesn't scream in it and sounds natural while in edited lives her voice suffers from pitch correction artifacts.

I think some of the lives are better than others, but the CDL 13-14 one is pretty much perfection to me. The acoustic/stripped down feeling of the album version feels very flat to me, and I think especially at the end she sounds a lot more nasal-y. I'm also particularly fond of the slowed down intro & la la ending in the live version, as I think they add a lot of interest and more depth to the song.

I read the updates they made. Thankfully it is not what they initially reported. That didn't make any sense.:laugh
Websites should be more careful when they report news.:dead2

I like the lalalala ending but I don't like the way she extends the shitakunai into naiiaiiaiiiii when she sings Love song live.

oaristos 17th February 2017 05:47 PM

Her CDL 2013-2014 performance of Love songs is one of my favorites.

//ABEST 17th February 2017 09:34 PM

CDL 13-14 was perfect in everyway :luv2

tokyoxjapanxfan 18th February 2017 05:28 AM

Lindsay Lohan's song Confessions of a Broken Heart has always felt like it'd fit into Ayu's discography lol

oaristos 18th February 2017 03:22 PM

^ Well, if you pay attention to the lyrics you can see that Confessions of a Broken Heart is basically Lindsay's version of A Song for xx :laugh

Uknow! 18th February 2017 07:46 PM

^ I would say Memorial address, Confessions of a Broken Heart talks about her father and it ends with the same lyrics she started (like ayu talking about the "dream")

Screaming, heavily auto-tuned. What was good about it?
I think 2 TV performances of this song were much better.
