When Utada said that the Album would be released in a couple of months, I figured that meant the Album would be pushed back as expected, but then it occurred to me that this video could have been shot some time ago so it doesn't necessarily mean that.

I know Utada keeps saying her Album is "Good Pop", but I hope there some serious and dramatic songs on there and some weird and crazy songs on there as well, if not just one to take the same place that "Kairo" and "Teiku 5" took on their respectable Albums.

Snap, Crackle, POP Babey!

EDIT:^Use that as a Title Utada! Minus the "Babey" of course. It would go along with "Apple & Cinnamon" as well. A whole cereal vibe going on.

^ I didnt really like Teiku 5 but I loved Kairo and something like that would be nice

Methinks some people don't understand the difference between Utada and 宇多田ヒカル.

I've been trying to think which song on ULTRA BLUE is the equivalent of those 2 songs. Just occurred to me that it would have to be "Passion". I just never thought about it before I guess.

Something else that just occurred to me is that it would be nice if Utada could also get a Commercial promoting her Album. That would be very beneficial. Like her ULTRA BLUE Commercial. Unfortunately even the big artist of America rarely get Commercials promoting their music because it's not a big deal like it is over in Japan. In America you don't even have many artist with their songs in commercials promoting products. Funny, the differences.

Umm, "Kairo" is on ULTRA BLUE.

This.

Why people expect Utada to be doing songs like 宇多田ヒカル's "Passion" or "Teiku 5" while trying to break into the American pop music scene is beyond me.

Oh well even though I would like her American music to sound like her jpop stuff, that will likely never happen as it seems that this time Hikki wants her music to be mainstream and popular xD obviously~ it would still be nice to have at least a couple of songs that sound synth-popish~

Well she insists on calling her upcoming music "GOOD POP" so "Synth Pop" might be possible. Unlikely, but possible.

And from Utada's video, it seems she's aware of what her fans think of her recent music and upcoming Album. I like how she's still fine with it and fine with using the word "Mainstream" though, regardless of what I think of it. Pretty confident.

And since I finally got to see the whole video last night, one thing I noticed was that Utada doesn't pause as much as she use to to find words to express herself. Maybe it's just nerves b/c those were interviews she paused in and this was just a solo thing and she could say what she wanted.

I've noticed it too. At least she is aware of what she is doing and she is trying to find a compromise between what she thinks good music is and the everyday mainstream junk.

Good music? For me, in a childish way, good music should be catchy while i get drunk.

Well seriously, i dont think there is one standard format of good music. It really depends on people how they look at it.

Also, she had dinner with someone from VIBE magazine tonight! Article, maybe? :)
And she is featured as the artist of the month on the radio station for the Madison, Wisconsin area.
