Alive/Physical thing was a flop (45k). but sales for Gossip Candy and Suki de/Anata dake ga were at least decent (85k each one). and POP DIVA outselling Can We Go Back is also a good thing :p

don't forget that Suki de & Lollipop were both digital #1 hits tho... Lollipop charted forever and Suki de was certified for 250k right?

Anata dake ga was certified for 100k too :laugh

physical sales are declining because we're moving into the digital age. we've had casettes, and records and cds, and now we're moving into the new format which is digital. mp3, aac, itunes and all that jazz. Within the next few years cds will probably not be made any more and everything will probably be sold strictly via online stores. The CD to future people is like a vinyl record is to us. Yeah, mp3 and stuff isn't new, but relative terms, it is the next format of music.

Somehow I'm reluctant to give up CDs! What collectibles will you get with an mp3 download?! A free "digital" poster? :laugh

emi♡ 28th February 2011 04:58 AM

@Pica: It definitely is. And especially for singles.

People can be like "oh kana sold this, and AKB sold this"...it doesn't really mean anything. The CD is still dying.

Tell me why I think Kuu took a few cues from Ayu's Memorial address shoot for those mirror shots. The album is pretty awesome so far. I'm loving it.

Picaflor 7/4 28th February 2011 05:05 AM

@emiko: videos are the same. From film roles to vhs, to dvd, to blu-ray to (maybe) mp4 videos and stuff.

I don't think I'm gonna be buying much music in the future. :/ It's such an experience to recieve a cd in the mail, or to go to a store and select one. But to buy a song from itunes that you can so easily download off the internet. yeah. not that fun or worth the money. Or the "oops, I accidentally deleted the song I just bought." if you bought it from amazon or something.

^why? she's a fan, I wouldn't be surprised if she saw it. though I doubt she got any ideas for anything from there.

U-GO-BOY 28th February 2011 05:28 AM

anyone knows when a FLAC rip will come out?

emi♡ 28th February 2011 05:28 AM

I wouldn't be surprised if she did...but it doesn't seem like something that's so omg set in stone that she would see it.

artists don't usually follow each other extremely closely like that, like other people do, unless they are like super fans.

do it again 28th February 2011 05:32 AM

Yayy I just got an e-mail saying I'll have my album Tuesday morning. =)
