but that would just be recycling stuff again, which is what i thought people were complaining about concerning this release..

The Judgement Day :heart

I really like the covers. But I really wished, she would do a PV for one of the new songs. SO.. no of the really new songs on this Album has a PV. What pity.
And I hope, there will not be 3 or 4 interludes. That not really songs.

not recycling if things are changed. I don't consider some of the tracks on LOVEppears to be recycled :)

its not that stuff was recycled, it was how the last two releases were presented.
I would have been completely fine if they told us that the mini albums would be singles, or the if the mini albums were to be combined on a later album, but we were lead to believe that it would be all NEW material, when it clearly isnt.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 27th December 2012 06:10 PM

^Exactly. All this outrage wouldn't be going on if they had just released LOVE and again as singles, with the appropriate pricing. It's ****ing greedy avex tactics.

freedreamer 27th December 2012 06:11 PM

seeing how the releases are...ive lost faith in the creativity of ayu's marketing team. i could just DREAM interludes becoming full songs.

JackieRos 27th December 2012 06:12 PM

interludes can stay interludes, thank you much

gogirlanime 27th December 2012 06:15 PM

Listen to this!

I got to thinking and I am not upset that LOVE and again are included, why? Think about it. Look at I am...

This is what I am... looked like to us when it was first released

1. I am... [new track]
2. Opening run [interlude]
3. Connected [new track]
4. UNITE!
5. evolution
6. Naturally [new track]
7. NEVER EVER
8. still alone [new track]
9. Daybreak [new track]
10. Taskinlude [interlude]
11. M
12. a song is born
13. Dearest
14. no more words [new track]
15. Endless sorrow
16. flower garden [new track]

Now, back in the day Ayu would release ONE song at a time on a maxi-single and we would happily spend about $12 USA for ONE SONG with a TON of half-rate remixes on them. I am... included 7 previously-released single tracks and we spent about $84 on those songs already if we bought all of those singles. Now I am... came out with 9 new tracks 2 being interludes and 7 being songs.

Look at LOVE again.

01. Wake me up
02. Song 4 u
03. Missing
04. SAKURA [new track]
05. Melody
06. task'n'bass [interlude]
07. Bye-bye darling [new track]
08. snowy kiss
09. Sweet scar
10. petal [new track]
11. glasses [new track]
12. untitled for her... story 2 [new track]
13. Gloria [new track]
14. Ivy
15. You & Me

assuming that only task'n'bass is an interlude we have 1 new interlude and 6 new songs (one less new song than I am...) and 7 were previously-released songs (same amount as I am...) only instead we paid about $20 USA dollars for each mini album (about $40 total) that is $44 less than the singles we paid during the pre I am... time period.

So think about it people, we are just being spoiled brats, this release isn't as bad as it seems! Do this same comparison with other albums she has released, we are not getting ripped off!

Pieces_of_SEVEN 27th December 2012 06:17 PM

I notice that the people who don't mind the recycled tracks are the ones who didn't purchase A SUMMER BEST, LOVE, or again.

I don't get it. So because certain people chose not to support ayu's past releases, the rest of the fanbase should suffer with recycled tracks?

BlackSilence 27th December 2012 06:17 PM

^^^ some of them could become full songs, like "insomnia" or "taskinst" others can stay the way they are really, but some would be awesome as full songs!

koumori 27th December 2012 06:18 PM

@gogirlanime: People are feeling annoyed because mini-album tracks were included on an album, not that the tracks themselves make an appearance. They just see it as an Avex marketing scheme, since mini-albums cost more than singles just based on the fact they're being listed as a mini-album. Also, they've also included the "buy all five releases to get a special gift", and now people wanting that have to buy the same songs all over again. :)

If they had been listed as cheaper singles to begin with..I don't think people would have as much of a problem.

Mai82Go 27th December 2012 06:18 PM

^^^People know this. The problem is that LOVE and again were promoted as mini ALBUMS. That's why people who only buy albums and no singles now feel like they got a bad deal. Because if you don't buy singles and only albums and not even best ofs, it is a bad deal. Would LOVE again be another mini people wouldn't be sad at all!

gogirlanime 27th December 2012 06:22 PM

Why does it matter that mini albums went to an album, that's just a title difference. We would spend $12 on ONE SONG back in the day. I would much rather pay $20 for 3-4 songs with 4 good remixes instead of $12 for one song and 9 crappy remixes (with a few good ones in there). Really, everyone is just stuck on the idea that a mini-album got put onto an album. If she had called LOVE and again "maxi-singles" no one would have had a problem. Remember buying "A" "&" "H" and "L" people and then buying a/b side singles and then having no problem with the album afterward

COME ON PEOPLE!!

if you are a real Ayu fan you buy the albums and singles no problem, the only upset people here are the one's that don't usually purchase both, so boo hoo you lost $40, go suck your thumb

TeamAyu2004 27th December 2012 06:22 PM

it really doesnt have anything to do with the money...
I would have bought Love and again no matter what... its the disappointment that i was told one thing and then something else happened...

this is exactly the point.
they were MARKETED as one thing when they really were not that.

I think you're wrong in thinking that the "rest of the fanbase" is the majority. I didn't buy ASB because it's mainly tracks I already have on CD. I don't like Best ofs for the same reason. LOVE and again seemed like bad deals from the get on, so I didn't buy them, yet. (Planned to buy them later) Just because I didn't buy them the moment they were released, I'm not a person who chose not to support ayu's past releases, thank you very much. I spent loads of money on Ayu for over 10 years.

As I wrote in the twitter thread already:

Quote:

As everyone said already, it's not about the content or the new album (which really is quite a nice package to me), but about the way this was promoted. It was just mishandled, and "LOVE" as well as "again" had false advertisement. Saying they were "mini albums" not "singles" having original content.
Same goes for "You & Me" on A SUMMER BEST, which was said to be on there exclusively, too.
If they had labeled "LOVE" and "again" as preludes to the new album to begin with (like they do now on her official homepage), no one would feel betrayed now.
I totally get why people purchasing LOVE and again are upset now.
It's an information problem only, doesn't have anything to do with wanting to support ayu or not.

and? Big deal, if you buy her singles and albums this is no problem

the people complaining are those who don't buy the singles and only the albums. So just in my opinion, only the die-hard fans aren't complaining
