I think it could be a rockish song, in the line of freaky and ningyio hime. I think that she needs a new one since she loves to do a "rock part" in her concerts and now all her rockish ones are kind of old. Ningyio hime is not performed anymore as a "main" rock song in her tours, and I think Freaky is going to take the same way, cause I doubt that she puts again the fire thing in that song and sings it again. Maybe part of a single meddley, but not as main rock song anymore.
So... I think that a rock song is what we should expect next

I found out about her from FFX-2....but she was like a nobody back then...so I forgot about her...became a Hikki fan.....x-amount of years later...I happened to be getting into Ayu.....and I looked up Avex trax and saw Kumi there....and was like...that sounds familiar. Looked up Moon Crying. And that's how I became a fan o_o.

The first time I knew about Kuu was when I saw an advertisement very long ago for B ~ss~ on my TV (iirc LOL) but only bothered to check out her music when I heard Crazy 4 U playing during the B ~B&L~ CM on my TV 2 years ago :P

Same here. I rented a copy of some PS2 game that had an exclusive preview of FFX-2 included and it was the opening scene of the game with Yuna singing and dancing to real Emotion. I played it over and over and over on my television blasting the speakers. Lol.

you started it for me. It was actually kinda funny how it started. I thought Kuu was one of my friend's favorite singer (turned out it was Shimatani) and I downloaded you, Birthday Eve, D.D.D., and Shake It Up for them since they didn't have the internet at the time. Turned out they didn't like Kuu...but I ended up liking her.

Usually when I go on to really like someone, it's by the first song I hear. Chase was my first Koda Kumi song and I was in love with it, I'm still in love with it. I went on to be obsessed until TRICK came out. In fact, oddly enough.... Ayu was the only artist I didn't fall in love with immediately. Her voice gave me a headache! :laugh

This is how I first saw Kuu & pretty much liked her. But it wasn't until Butterfly that I became the Kuustan I now am.

Butterfly was another song that made me respect her for being able to make music of a really good quality.

i found out about kumi because of FFX-2 trailers that i saw, sometime in 2003 or 2004 (i remember getting the game as a birthday present! :P). then i remember in 2005, i downloaded a few PVs, and that included Chase, Cutie Honey, Hands & Hot stuff. :heart i took a break for awhile, because i following utada at the same time as well. then in the fall of 2005, i got back into kumi by listening to you and after that, i followed all of the 12 singles. so ever since then, i've been a fan. it's been like...4 or 5 years! i considered her as my #1 artist back then since i really only followed her the most, lol, but in 2007 i discovered more artists. even now, she's my #1 favorite female artist, even though i love alot of other artists as well. i'll never give up on kumi! :D

lol I remember when I was like 14, I first saw her "SHAKE IT" video and I was like so young and didn't get it. I thought she was having sex the whole time in her video, and it was like some different way to have sex (w/girls arms etc) lol. anyway I thought it was cool and then saw her other videos and really fell in love with "Gentle Words" :yes

Since i didnt have internet i recorded real emotion first and 1000 no kotoba later from the TV and listen them again and again whithout knowing she was Koda Kumi...

Kuu was my first Japanese artist and it was love at first listen. I don't really remember what song made me fall in love with her but one of the first ones I loved was 大切な君へ and it's still one of my favorites.

My first Kuu song was "Real emotion", because of Final Fantasy X-2.
And after that, i heard long time nothing from her. In fall in lover with her after "Promise/Star" again.^^

Speaking of devoted fans, I always wondered why Kumi has two fan clubs and what is the difference between them? Do they both have a lot of members?

The two fan clubs are called Koda Gumi & Playroom.

One's a fan club, & the other one's a mobile fan club. I think Playroom's the mobile fanclub, I'm not too positive. I would assume they have a lot of members..if there are two clubs. :laugh

The only benefit of being in Koda Gumi is that you can order priority concert tickets and FC editions of releases. Playroom gets all of the goodies, because it's a closed mobile source, so you can't copy and paste information like you can on a PC. it's much more secure and that's why they get all of the song previews, CD covers, and just random pics of Kuu on there. I was a member of Koda Gumi for a year and didn't bother renewing my membership, there was just no bonus in it for me. :(

Wow I didn't know there were such things as mobile fanclubs... How much do they cost?

It's really amazing what the Japanese do with cell phones haha, like there was this one video where this guy put in his credit card info into his phone and when he was at the store scanned his phone and then there was a fingerprint scanner thing on the phone to make sure it was him attempting the purchase. Neat stuff!

^ Wow that's crazy! You know those 2-D barcodes that have been used in Japan for forever! I finally saw an American ad featuring one not too long ago! We're so behind the times xD;

I have an app on my iPhone to scan them! But there's none to scan lol like on Kumi's official website they post the barcodes for the different chaku-uta websites and I scan them and it just takes me to the main page. I feel so primitive...

I remember I downloaded FFX-2 soundtrack on my computer back in 2004. I thought real Emotion and 1000 no kotoba would be in english but instead I got japanese versions. I was disappointed and didn't really care who the singer was at first. "Okay, this has to be a man, no woman sings so low" was the first impression. For some reason I ended up listening to those versions quite often, and then even sing along. :D

Then I forgot Kuu completely (which is sad and I also got obsessed with Hikki), and then in 2006 I was surfing on wikipedia if I remember correctly. I was bored and read some articles. Kuu was mentioned in some j-pop artist article (I think it was something about Ayu since I was listening to her quite a lot at the time). I read that Kuu wasn't a successful one before the year 2005 and lolled so hard (I guess I was quite a ayu stan back then lol), but then I somehow found myself from youtube and listening to Butterfly. o.O I didn't feel interested. To me this song sounded so boring and stupid, and even the PV was annoying. Then I heard you and Promise. I cried when I watched you PV. Promise made it even worse and I ended up downloading her discography. It was a few weeks before Black Cherry came out. And that album made me a crazy fan. :'D And I got a picture in my mind that I also saw Trust Your Love, real Emotion and Crazy 4 U PVs while discovering Kuu.

Everything she released after Black Cherry made me love her even more, and eventually I completely forgot Ayu for a year and half I think. I gotta confess that I don't feel bad about it. Now I feel like I'm totally myself (meaning I'm dirty minded) and it's all thanks to our sexy queen Kuuchie sweetie~ :luv2

I haven't liked her at first, just with the rest of songs I've got into her. Now she's one of my beloved 3 asian queens and I can't imagine my life without listening to her music. ;_; :heart
