If we can't talk about what we dislike, then better stop repeating what we do like. Hell might as well shut the damn forum down and not comment at all.

Yes it is my opinion, but I do not feel the need to put (in my opinion) after what I right. Obviously it's my opinion or I wouldn't be writing such comments.

I know I am a little harsh on the songs I dislike, but I find humor in being brutally honest. This forum needs to lighten up. :rolleyes

Differing opinions, that's what makes the forum exciting. Laughable. Enjoyable. Who wants to come to a forum where every thread is.

"I like this song."
"Oh, that is nice."
"Cool."

Key ~eternal tie~ 1st October 2011 12:38 AM

Hmm... You're right in voicing your opinion. I think maybe it's the way you convey your feelings about the songs. I don't know, maybe if you don't like something, you could say you don't like it rather than 'it is simply trash'. People don't like it when something they do like gets criticized. I understood what you mean about being able to speak honestly, but I couldn't help feeling upset about the harshness to something I like. Hope it makes sense.

chu-lips 1st October 2011 12:47 AM

@zeke
but please apreciate the song wether u like it or dislike it..
Choosing the right words be4 speaks em up..
Ayu had worked hard for those songs which u call them 'trash'
yeah its forum n it's free to convey our opinion
but everyone n even urself will be feeling insulted n pissed off when u had done a thing with all ur might then someone called ur work as a garbage..

LEOyumi 1st October 2011 02:16 AM

Wow, this setlist is perfect! Love love love it.
I wanted ANother Song too, but there's no way to complain about it with such a great selection.

Kirshwasser 1st October 2011 03:05 AM

@Zeke, apparently your opinion just insulted those minority people in ahs that like these songs u called trash, and in my "OPINION" u're just being inconsiderate

alternarist 1st October 2011 03:29 AM

I am happy that there are costume changes and BRILLANTE!!! no monochrome, slightly disappointed. :(

and seriously U guys are criticising Zeke's choice of word. -_- people shld learn how to take such things with a pinch of salt.

se7entheaven 1st October 2011 03:44 AM

Anyway, from Tim's FB:

I performed in Ayu's concert tonight! I sang BRILLANTE, Bold & Delicious, Evolution, Boys & Girls, Born to be Free, A Song is Born and Thank U! It was an amazing experience... I made some mistakes though, so I have to go over everything tonight and try harder tomorrow! Thank you Ayu for giving me this chance!

rusuke 1st October 2011 03:51 AM

^ Wow! Instead of Duets with Nao and JUNO, we get duet with TIM?

I love the new setlist except for Bold & Delicious.

Zeke. 1st October 2011 04:18 AM

If everyone sugar-coated everything then their would be no humor on television or anywhere for that matter. I get how my statements can come off as bold. But really, you shouldn't feel offended - I love Ayu just as much as everyone but I am not afraid to be honest when I dislike something. Ayu did not produce/compose/arrange these songs - she just wrote the lyrics and sang the songs. Everything about them that makes them trash to me has nothing to do with her or her work. That being said, those songs are bottom of the barrel when it comes to the name that is "hamasaki ayumi" and I stand by my accusations of them being worthless.

Again, excuse my harsh words.

And actually, believe it or not, I don't HATE them. I just don't see the point of them existing. Hell come to think of it, I dislike Sexy little things and meaning of Love and possibly Don't look back even more so. I guess it is because of how much I adore(d) Love songs (minus Love song and Thank U).

truehappiness 1st October 2011 04:20 AM

I wonder just how 'featured' he was in the songs besides BRILLANTE.

Andrenekoi 1st October 2011 04:47 AM

@Zeke.
I think the problem, what annoys people, is not the fact that u dislike those songs... is how much u repeat it...

I don't think there's is anyone who reads Ayu threads on AHS that don't know what u think about FIVE... So... we got it buddy, let it be...

Kei Rei 1st October 2011 04:52 AM

tim wasn't really featured aside from BRILLANTE. he was kind of just another dancer, although definitely the most attractive, in my eyes.

*hearT_Place* 1st October 2011 05:10 AM

I think I expressed my dislike for Rock'n'Roll way more than I have ever expressed my dislike for FIVE. Actually I think this is the first time I have been so upfront and forward and rash about my thoughts on FIVE. As long as we are in the FIVE era, and I want to participate in the conversation/opinions of this forum, I will continue voicing my opinion. Not as harshly as I have done right here, right now in this thread. I understand hearing the same thing gets annoying, but I was way more vocal about my disappointment in R'n'R than I have ever been with FIVE.

From now on how 'bout we all stop talking about the following since we've heard it so much on this forum:
* fish lips
* CREA and how much we want her back and love it
* alterna
* Memorial address (the song)
* A BEST 3
* Ayu losing popularity/declining sales
* BRILLANTE and how everyone loves it
* Favorite Ayu songs
* Least favorite Ayu songs
* Leslie Kee
* Wishing Ayu would dye her hair dark again
* her husband
* Sunrise / Sunset photoshoot scandal

"I don't think there's is anyone who reads Ayu threads on AHS that don't know" the above.
It's all common knowledge, might as well stop talking about it...

Earth_maiden 1st October 2011 12:14 PM

I'm pretty sure it was the fact that you called the songs "trash" which has upset people, myself included. Some of Ayu's stuff has seemed lackluster or commonplace to me, but I would never consider any of her works to be "trash".

And like I said, its not just you. Definitely not just you. :no

they are always like that, they are there to enjoy the singing and performance.
guess that probably because they always get to attend ayu's/any artists' concerts so they feel not the need to record everything, moreover there'll be DVD released after that.

Did you ever seen any concert in your country? Some artists is OK with recording, some don't want people to do it. Its better to enjoy the concert than to hide with camera from stuff

Well, I'm all for not touching those subjets too, they are also very repetitive... :P

Still, they are mostly being discussed on threads focused on them, while u keep repeating how much u hate FIVE on every thread that has the album's name on it... Really, u bring it even tho the tour thread. U r complaining about this even BEFORE the album was released. @_____________@

Zeke. 1st October 2011 06:32 PM

I recall saying that I was going to keep an open mind about FIVE before it was released and avoid listening to the songs. I brought up the songs in this thread because I mentioned how I hoped they would be sung in the final leg of the tour... and this is a thread discussing the tour, is it not?

I don't really even care, this has become a bigger issue than it was meant to be. Don't take my words or anyone else's so seriously people - I'm not calling Ayu herself trash so get past it. It's just the way I talk - I exaggerate for humor and for my expression. Like I already said, Ayu only wrote the lyrics for these songs which I am not criticizing one bit. :rolleyes Y'all are so dull.

koumori 1st October 2011 07:21 PM

^ Dude, it's because it's just you and if other people are bringing this up, it should be a huge sign for you to realise if people actually are getting annoyed with you in particular, then maybe you're expressing your opinion a little too much. You're not the only one who finds FIVE a disappointment, but yet here you are getting singled out. Maybe it's time you step down the "songs are trash" one man parade and realise your opinion has been heard, loud and clear.

Plus, it's awesome you find humour in stuff like that, but obviously most people are taking offence are your 'jokes' here and you should take that into consideration too. No one is saying your opinion doesn't matter, just that maybe you're shoving it into peoples faces too much.

Taru86 1st October 2011 07:57 PM

I went to the 10/1 show in Osaka and it was EPICALLY AMAZING!!! This was my first time attending one of Ayu’s concerts, and it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had!!!! The fact that I saw her live still gives me chills.
The set list was the same as the 9/30 show. Here’s my review of the show, I won’t include any of the interludes because I don’t really remember them that much..I'll put it in a spoiler because it's kind of long.
Spoiler:
forgiveness
The performance was amazing!! She started of a cappella, which was beautiful and absolutely gave me chills down my spine. Then when the music kicked in, it sounded too good to be true! It was the perfect way to start off the “Power of Music.” She was wearing a white dress that was short in the front, showing her legs, and long in the back that went down to the floor.

progress
A great performance! Ayu sang the ballad part really well, it sounded great. Then when the song shifted all of the lights started going crazy and everyone in the area started freaking out! It was soo cool her voice sounded really well throughout the whole performance.

M
M was great! The rock arrangement of the song was great, and it wasn’t just a light rock arrangement, it was pretty strong rock for Ayu starndards. I would say that the arrangement was about at the same level of rock as microphone, or maybe even more. It was so cool!! Ayu sang it pretty well, though she seemed to have a little trouble near the end of the song, but overall a very good performance! It really stood out to me. She wore a tight short gold dress that had one arm completely exposed and one are completely cover with a sleeve. The arm with the sleeve had a kind of spike on the shoulder.

decision
The rock arrangement of M lead beautifully into decision! During the performance Ayu and the band went to the outer part of the stage, and it started spinning. Ayu look soo fierce, she really brought out all of the attitude for this performance! Her voice sounded really good as well!! Though I don’t really remember the lyrics to decision that well, but I am pretty sure she messed up during the last chorus. Because she started to sing one thing, then it seems like she hesitated for a second, the continued singing.

walking proud
The arrangement was different from the original, but still sounded extremely good! Ayu’s voice sounded great. I actually started crying a little during the performance because everything was so in sync and wonderful. She wore a long gold (I think) dress that went down to the floor.

part of Me
A good performance, Ayu looked gorgeous, but her voice was a little off during some parts, mostly during the first chorus, but after that it was fine. I can’t remember for sure but I think the arrangement was at least slightly different as well. I just remember that at first I had a hard time identifying which song it was. (but that could also be because it’s a song I don’t listen to very often)

beloved
Great performance, Ayu didn’t seem to have any trouble singing this song, and it sounded really smooth from what I can remember.

BRILLANT
Epic performance! It started off with Timmy walking from the runway to the main stage while singing the chants. The outfit he was wearing was very similar to what he wore in the pv, the hair and top were the same, and he wore a black skirt with black boots. The outfit as a whole really reminded me of something Peco would wear. Then Ayu came up from the center of the stage and started singing. The verses sounded really good, but it seemed like she had a little bit of trouble singing the choruses. Overall it was a really good performance. Ayu was wearing a beautiful red dress, with a red flower in her hair I think. Ayu and Timmy had a lot of interaction with each other during the song, they were facing each other and really close to each other throughout the whole song. Near the end of the performance Ayu and Timmy are surrounded by bars, and the performance ended with Ayu “dying” and all of the dancers trying to get her, much like the ending of the pv. Definitely loved the performance.

Days
Ayu came onto stage wearing a short pink dress with a really fluffy skirt, glittery pink boots that almost came up to her knees, and a pink headband. It was a good performance, her voice sounded really good, and Shu-ya danced throughout the song. The performance ended with Shu-ya walking towards Ayu, and as Ayu slowly turned around the lights got darker and darker, and when they finally met eye-to-eye all of the lights went off.

vogue
The arrangement was so different I had no idea what song it was until she actually started singing. Lol. But it was great the arrangement was so cool, and Ayu led the crowd in clapping during several parts. I was a really fun performance!

Far away
Very jazzy performance! I don’t know why but the second she started singing it I wanted to cry, maybe because it’s such an old song, and being able to hear it live was such a wonderful experience. Ayu did a good job performing it, but her voice cracked in a couple of places.

SEASONS
Loved this performance! Before the song started Ayu said that she wanted everyone in the audience to sing it with her. Ayu sang part of the first verse, and the audience sang part of it. Then the audience sang the lala~i part. However Ayu didn’t sing the full song, she cut out the second verse and chorus.

MC
Ayu did a costume change and the talked to the audience. Right now I can’t remember what she talked about, but every time she started talking the audience started cheering really loud and yelling her name. In fact, everyone kept cheering so much that eventually Ayu stopped talking and playfully scolded the audience, telling us to listen to her talk for just 2 minutes. Lol. It was really funny and cute!

Bold & Delicious
Ayu directed different parts of the audience to sing at different parts of the song, it was a lot of fun!

Mirrorcle World
Very powerful performance! Ayu did an excellent job at performing this song!! Her voice was so strong!!

evolution
Mirrorcle World transitioned into evolution very well, and it was sooo much fun! Evolution is one of my all-time favorite songs so I was super excited the second it started playing. But she didn’t sing the whole song; she left out the second verse and chorus. Even so it was still one of my favorite moments.

Boys & Girls
Pretty much the same as ever other performance of the song. Still a lot of fun though!

Born To Be…
All I can say is FANTASTIC! I did not expect this song at all. It sounded really good, and Ayu introduced the band and dancers.
The curtain went down and the “Under the same sky” video played while an instrumental version of daybreak played in the background. Then the lyrics of daybreak appeared on the screen and everyone in the audience started singing it. It was a very powerful moment, and I almost started to cry a little again.

A Song is born
The curtain went up and Ayu started singing a song is born, with the lyrics appearing on the screen. Ayu cried during the second half of the performance, which made me start crying. There was even one part where Ayu stopped singing for a couple of seconds because she was crying.

Thank U
A very cute and fun way to end the concert. The audience sang all of the lalala parts. At the end the curtain went down, but came right back up and Ayu and all the dancers bowed to the audience several times. Then at the very end, when all of the music was done playing, Ayu waited for the audience to get completely quiet (thought it took a little while because people kept yelling happy birthday lol), and then yelled “arigatou gozaimashita!” without the microphone, and the curtains slowly went down again with Ayu jumping around and waving to the audience.

I love this concert so much! Ayu’s vocals were consistently amazing, the set list was fantastic, and I really liked all of the costumes she wore. The center arena stage worked perfectly for the concert, and I had a great seat on top of that. Ayu honestly looked like she was having an amazing time performing, and every time she smiled it looked so pure and happy that I felt all warm inside and couldn’t help but smile as well.

Oh and about Timmy being featured in several songs. After the performance of BRILLANT Timmy changed into a different outfit, and joined Peco and Princess as a chorus singer. But honestly Ayu’s microphone was so loud that I couldn’t even hear the chorus singers at all. Like I forgot that they were there throughout the entire concert.

If I think of anything else I'll be sure to add it into the post!

truehappiness 1st October 2011 08:16 PM

Awesome review!

I wish I could see it.

And regarding audio recordings, we only ever really get them via sneaky people at Hello!Project concerts who tap into the mic system somehow and get direct-from-mixing-board sound, lol.

I will admit I am very strong in my opinions, yes. But I think of how much I love Ayu, just like everyone else. I draw her symbol on every document I get. I praise her up and down to everyone around me. I constantly speak highly of her in my daily life. I thank God every single night, since I saw her in 2008, for allowing me to come across the most amazing seats when I attended her concert and for giving me that chance - not one night do I not express my gratitude in my prayers saying "Thank you Lord for my experience in Japan for the most amazing concert seats ever." I have true love for Ayu and respect her as an artist and as a person, so when I give honest opinion about something that is not my favorite and I come off as ungrateful I just find that ridiculous. Forgive me.

isthisLOL? 2nd October 2011 12:36 AM

And that's great, that's wonderful; and to be honest, I don't think anyone thought you were insulting Ayu or whatever in your original post here that caused all this. In fact, in my opinion, I don't really care if you did. A lot of members here don't really care for her music anymore, and it doesn't really matter. I think the issue here is that you come across a little too strong sometimes, and especially in this post where you phrased everyone who disagreed with you as "crybabies", it just really makes a joke of the rest of your post.

Your posts come across as you wanting to stir drama. In the future, no matter what your opinion - positive, negative, neutral - just try and phrase it so other people don't feel they have to defend their opinion. Calling her songs trash made others feel like they had to defend liking them. That isn't a good discussion starter to me. Calling them crybabies when apparently apologing isn't a good call either. I'm going to end this here, but I hope you see what I'm trying to say - all opinions are obviously accepted here, but how they are worded makes the biggest difference in the world.

I could go into the reasons why I think Why... and beloved and ANother Song aren't up to par with the majority of her releases, but I think most of that has been said in other threads discussing FIVE specifically.

I won't apologize because it would be a false apology. I do not like those songs compared to everything else she has released and if it weren't for Ayu, I'd never had paid second attention to them. I will end this here, but I wasn't trying to stir up drama or become "that person" in this discussion thread. I understand the conscious thought to word things a certain way, but I prefer to put things bluntly.

I will end this here, but I wasn't trying to stir up drama or become "that person" in this discussion thread. I understand the conscious thought to word things a certain way, but I prefer to put things bluntly.

If u prefer to put things blunty, you need to get used to the fact that people will get upset to you.

And nobody is saying that you hate ayu, that you should love FIVE or whatever.... people are just saying that EVERYBODY ALREADY KNOW U DISLIKE THOSE SONGS! Nobody else but you still is discussing their liking or disliking for the tracks.

It's not if u like or dislike it, nobody gives a damn about it, it's about repeating it ALL THE TIME and acting like those songs are universally seen as bad.

God... ~~'

Now there's no need to ask you in person. ;P

I wish I could have gone! It sounds incredible, and like it's oosting (that's a word now) itself up a little bit out of ultra-simplicity as time goes on, but if the emphasis on the music remains, that sounds appropriate to me. :)

Let's just end the war on opinions here, guys. If you don't like something, state it once unless asked to clarify, and move on. A lot can be solved by just maintaining your distance.

The concert sounds like its getting worse as it goes on :( I'm sure it is still an amazing concert, but the concept seems to be getting weaker and weaker.

I understand what you're saying, because it seems to be making a slow approach back to Ayu's typical bonanza of circus and fashion show and greatest-show-on-earth excitement, if only a little bit. I can't say, since I haven't actually attended the concert this year, but I wouldn't necessarily say it's getting "worse." It's certainly evolving off in a slightly new direction, but I don't know that that makes it a bad concert.
I do agree with your comment about the "concept getting weaker and weaker," though.

I wasn't acting as they are universally seen as bad, I never once said "How can you not see these songs are trash - you guys are blind! Etc..." I happened to use the word "trash" in here and then it turned into a discussion where of course I explained myself further. Ok, it's over with, lol.

I wasn't talking about fancams, just audio which is simple to make.
It doesn't matter if it's forbidden to record or not. I attended 4 concerts of Mylene Farmer in 2009 both in Russia and in France and managed to make audio recordings of 2 of them, though it was strictly forbidden to record. And lots of people did record as well. My mp3 player was kept in my pocket and I just enjoyed the concert without paying attention to the recording. Now I have something to remember.

Larien 2nd October 2011 01:40 PM

OMG, I love the red dress and the long, balletic one with all the tulle! How lovely!

I have to say, though, from this alone, I don't think I would necessarily condemn the concert's movement away from its theme. Or rather, I wouldn't necessarily say that this is true. It is evolving, but I think it is doing so in a way that is evolving with the country's feelings. It's still not the obscenely gaudy spectacle we're used to, but it has some fun and life and entertainment for people to enjoy.
Perhaps it's just my opinion, but I feel that the initial incarnation of POM was appropriate for the time it appeared, and this version, too, I think is likewise appropriate for the moment.

Onton 2nd October 2011 02:00 PM

Power of Music...I think this concept isn't about to keep things clean all the way..I think it's more about a progress of moving forward with Japan together after the 311 Disaster.

So far I can't see any inconsistent....
I love this FINAL Chapter..Obviously Ayu is moving forward to make the concert become more colorful and entertaining...so as Japan...

Deibel 2nd October 2011 03:16 PM

Like she said in a recent interview:

Quote:

- What about the changing setlist, from the 1st to final chapter?
- That's because Japan is progressing. That wasn't in the plan at the beginning, but came about during the tour itself: the idea of progressing together.
Quote:

- What are your reflections after completing the first half?
- Now, I'm wondering what will happen in the coming autumn. It's not that I'm lost, but just that I want to match the show with the direction Japan will be heading in, so there are some details which I won't be able to include until the right time comes. I'm looking forward to how things will turn out.
The show was growing since its beggining, with new songs at every date, and now it includes more elements, like her classic concerts.

PoM is having an evolution, just like Japan. The situation isn't the same than a few months ago, and that's the reason why her concert must change too. That doesn't mean that the initial concept is lost, more like the opposite; the own concept is evolving!

That's what I think about these new changes.
