Yeah but not to strip away everything that makes that song great to begin with. I like the remix to improve on those elements. Dance remixes are different because it's always interesting to hear a song with a good beat to begin with, re-arranged into a different piece of product, possibly improving on what made the song great from the very start.

I listen to is this love?, Microphone, Mirrorcle World, About You, GAME, Because of you, etc..., for the fact that they are ROCK songs with POWER. Strip that away from them and everything that interested me about those songs to begin with is lost.

A good, full orchestral arrangement can be at least as powerful as the rock arrangements of any of those tracks.

And the Mirrorcle World arrangement performed at POWER of MUSIC slays that messy original mix so easily.

I listen to those songs because they're rock songs, but mainly because they make me feel indescribable emotions... "Because of You", "is this LOVE?" for example made me cry a few times for sure !

And imo, even though they don't beat the originals, classical versions give another vision of the song with different emotions, I LOVE alterna's orchestra version for example, even though it's completely different from the original. I think it's just a matter of taste, I hope you'll like the album even if they remixed rock songs (I really hope they did actually). ^^

a classical version can be just as powerful as a rock version... It can even be MORE emotional then the original version, it just depends on the remix.

And you comment about the dance remixes is the same reason why i like remixes of any song... because it has the potential to make a great song even better.

But... All the tracks were chosen from the TeamAyu poll held this month right ? So it'll mostly be Japanese fans' favorite songs ? :( Their tastes are pretty different to ours so I hope the tracklist will be alright...

And there where some other songs, she made a classical Version from. I'm not a fan of this versions of Ayu-Songs.

"Acoustic Orchestra" and "Classical" are NOT the same type of rearrangement. MY STORY Classical are the ONLY "Classical" versions Ayumi has ever released.

Yep :yes For anybody who's never heard anything from MY STORY Classical (and I highly recommend listening to it :luv2), here are two versions of Moments, the first is from the Acoustic Orchestra version of ayu-mi-x 7, the second is from MY STORY Classical. I think this illustrates the difference between a Classical version and an AO version pretty well.

If there wasn't a difference between Acoustic Orchestra remixes and Classical ones, they might have named this album "ayu-mi-x 8 Acoustic Orchestra".

I am very sure that Ayu's producers are going to collaborate with the Lamoureux Orchestre once again. Another orchestra would be possible, too.

Absolutely hoping for kickass, upbeat tracks, being excellently remixed á la MY STORY style. I want to be surprised with how breathtakingly flawless they can mix songs such as Sparkle, GUILTY, I am..., Naturally, etc. into epic classical tracks. I'm fine with ballads, but I want to be seriously blown away here.

I'd like to see Dolls and BRILLANTE have classical versions! :luv2 But... That's just me. ^^;

they have to make ALL the Next Level Interludes into full songs. Forget that mediocre serenade in a minor. PIECES OF SEVEN MUST BE A FULL SONG. IT'S TOO EPIC.

Mirrorcle World is a great song. Of course not anyone has to like it but it worked really well as a full song.

I#m not for interludes on this album because it's better to have more of regular songs...

As for Im still in love with 7... I was really happy with it when it first came out and then i started to nitpick at it, but still love the overall product.

Um the arrangement on ayu-mi-x 7 acoustic for HANABI and forgiveness made the album a success.

^ I loved forgiveness! It reminded me a ton of final fantasy 9 stuff...
Hanabi is also a gem... I liked the entire album...
Some of the songs irked me, but man... I still love those!

full song. I don't hate the full song but I don't love either.

I absolutely feel that those two in particular stood out and made the album goosebump-inducing and somewhat tear-jerking at points. Yet the way I see how this album was a success, was the mixture of genres and instruments. They didn't just stick to traditional piano and brass instruments and made a list of sure hits, consisting of quiet, beautiful and mellow melodies. I heard some jazz, and even some salsa/samba-fused melodies in there and they are awesome. The typical Ayu-fan may not like them a great deal, but how they tried and actually made it work, that is just amazing and a true sign of talent. Kudos to the ones who mixed those.

For me, kanariya was the highlight of ayu-mi-x 7 AO. But I adore the whole album! My favorite of her previous AO's.
