I gave the album previews a listen and the album feels so disjoint. It feels like the album is basically before and after beautiful, with a bit of leeway. That or you can say before any after nijiiro. I forget which song it was but it was a nice piano song and I wish I could have heard more of it before it cut off. Maybe if I play the album constantly it'll grow on me. Maybe.

The album sounds more interesting than the beginning to me, which I got over pretty fast.
yes, the covers are strange and her smile is just bad...but on another note - she is not really good looking. actually I always thought she looks kinda off - she is not ugly or anything... i just don't find her that pretty and that haircut isn't helping. |

Somewhat ironic that there're mainly upclose shots of ayaka during the PV , maybe it's to take away the fact that she's expecting ? Hopefully the other 2 PVs from Rainbow Road will be aired soon |
Under three minutes is quite short, it's not often you hear that. We're more familiar with four to five minutes here in Japan, while the Americans are more familiar with ~three minutes...not so common here in Japan.

I'm kind of concerned whether Ayaka can get a #1, after what I'm seeing with miwa and Ayu that is going on this week. My main concern is about the 'recycled material' that may have hit miwa significantly, but then again this is her first studio album in over three years... (actually, miwa's album number drop hit isn't as significant, but still, Masaharu Fukuyama was more popular...)

Just look at the competition for next week and we'll have an answer about Ayaka's no.1 chance. Personally I don't care and I actually want it to do meh so ayaka can wake up and release good music again. Look at ai Otsuka. She's a flop in sales but is releasing her best album possibly ever. But that's just me.

No end remains the best track.
Number One is actually not so bad in the end. Have Fun!! is kinda cute but… I don't like the chorus at all. Tsuyoku Omou isn't that good. Beautiful is as it was before. The opening is and will always be the most flawless part of the song. At 1:08 the song dies, and comes back to life at 1:30. Then it becomes great at 2:53. The ending is flawless too. If only the chorus was good. This song could have shat all over other ayaka songs but she had to have that chorus. Bless. Gensoukyoku is still classic ayaka. Lose Control is the second best song on the album. Through the Ages left no impression except for the violin. Zutto Taisetsu Na Kimochi is a snoozefest. I appreciate Chiisana Ashiato more than I did before because my love for percussion has grown exponentially but I still don't like it. Birthday Song never happened. Let's never talk about it starting from now. This entire album made me appreciate Nijiiro in the end. After all the junk and filler ayaka gives us a cute lil song. Makes me appreciate it even more. Overall 4.5/10. Keep for the iPod: No End, Lose Control, Nijiiro, Beautiful, Gensoukyoku, Number One. In the end, ayaka didn't deliver. I'm disappointed since I know she can do better. The six songs I recommended are basically 25 minutes of solid pop music. Put them in the order as they appear in the album and you have a great mini album. As for the other songs... |

The album is really enjoyable, I think I only skipped one song half way through. No end and lose control are two gems and obviously the best tracks on the album, which is a bit surprising because I'm usually a sucker for her ballads rather than her upbeat tracks.

Ayaka seems to be doing as I expected. There was no way she'd top her last album sales wise (that's the trend usually) or quality wise (subjective but then music being subjective is an entirely different discussion).
