For me, Ayu write feel the love because she wanted to do such kind of music after she was attending to the korean *stuff* festival (can't remember the good name). It makes her want to create that kind of music.

& People, let's complainers complain & let's dance together all night :bshake:vbhappy

personally i think the composing part, the melody is very nice, the thing that bugs me is the megh arangement. It could have been a great piece of work.

I think for the most part people who ahve been fans for more than 3 years are harder to be impressed with the work a singer releases. I too, noticed, that new stuff gets my attention for at the most a month then i just get borred, or go back to the stuff i love lol

Nobody else that I can remember is doing upbeat 90's jpop right now... A lot of people are doing EDM, but they are mostly copying the USA trends, and because of that, they are sounding very western.

I'm sorry, (not sorry), but I LOVE this song~

I think it was the Ultra Music one where she met Armin?

I have no idea what she's saying, haha.

Seems as though some articles hinted at this EDM/dance music release.

i'm just saying. not saying everyone is like that, but sayin that majority might be.

Hm...tbh I'm SUPER skeptical about the track with VERBAL though...like...it doesn't seem like ayu.

I think it'll be great, though it was something she should have considered back in 2005-06 during height of the m-flo loves era.

VERBAL is super creative linguistically (the way he manipulates several languages in a single track is just phenomenal), and the m-flo duo as a whole is pretty good about staying true to the style of their fellow artist as opposed to converting them to their style. =)

truehappiness 29th October 2013 01:25 AM

Maybe she refused back during the "loves..." era?

I believe it'll be good. Ayu tracks for the dancefloor? Sign me up!

I do like VERBAL...sometimes. It's usually hit or miss for me. I've heard songs with Namie, Sowelu, Crystal Kay, Nicki Minaj, Miliyah, and Thelma Aoyama, and I've only liked a few. I just wonder if this song is gonna sound like really hip-pop or what.

Did we get a description of Merry Go Round besides that it will feature him?

truehappiness 29th October 2013 01:48 AM

Merry-go-round is a 'prime dance floor' track, whatever that means. Whatever it is, it'll probably be heavier than Feel the love, which is an 'uplifting tune' which fits very well. I think it'll be closer to Sparkle than You & Me.

Also mesmeresque@Tumblr translated the lyrics of the short version so far...

It sounds like she wrote this as a way to deal with her relationship with Maro/Mannie (kind of) and her current(?) relationship with that Caucasian guy.

Quote:

feel the love…
you and me…
night ‘n’ day…

feel the love, feel the love - we can dance all night
feel the love, feel the love - we can dance all night

when I turn down the next corner
I’m gonna let out the biggest smile and laugh
worry shakes me deep inside
and it feels like my spirit is about to break, but

I’m gonna follow the wild beat of my heart
why can’t that be most important right now?
feel the love, feel the love - we can dance all night
feel the love, feel the love - we can dance all night
you and me, you and me - we can feel the love tonight
you and me, you and me - we can feel the love tonight

I don’t say “told you so” or anything
but I often hear things like
"isn’t it time you developed better judgment"
really now, what is ‘proper love’ anyway

is there anybody out there who isn’t straying from it?
there still exists memory to save the past, so

Pieces_of_SEVEN 29th October 2013 01:49 AM

^awesome, thanks for that! Now, just wish we could get a HQ cover of the A BEST LIVE DVD/Blu ray...

gogirlanime 29th October 2013 10:21 AM

I dunno how I feel about this, it sounds like a remix version. That said, since I love her remixes I don't mind this song, but it sounds like a remix and I feel this yearning to hear the "original" but I'm not going to complain it's a new release in godly-forever. This is the best she's done since the release of "again" because the "LOVE again" album-only tracks in my opinion were the worst in her career (just my opinion sorry... I NEVER listen to them) so it's nice to see some new upbeat and techno-y songs from Ayu again. This redeems You&Me because I hated that song too.

pimenta 29th October 2013 10:25 AM

I think people are overthinking about this song. I don't think Ayu was trying to do her best nor release a masterpiece (if she was, she wouldn't have worked with DJ Hello Kitty to start with), I think she just trying to have fun. She got this silly and catchy melody, then got the opportunity to work with DJ Hello Kitty, and I guess she just thought it would be a fun experience, and it was, we have a silly yet very catchy pop song that is not at all hard to get into. You just have to forget all this idealism about wanting Hamasaki Ayumi to only release masterpieces, and listen to this song more open minded and without thinking too much about it. Why can't she have a little fun? She's not a built robot designed to be the empress of pop who shall only release epicness even after 15 years... Sometimes I think people idealize Ayu's image way too much >_<

I think every Ayu album has at least one "not masterpiece", so I don't anything bad in releasing songs like this once in a while as a single, especially considering that Japanese public seems to like this type of songs.

Maraschino 30th October 2013 05:35 AM

Actually, it is over my expectations.
I love the arrangement, it saves the dumb melody!

well said!

Earth_maiden 30th October 2013 10:09 AM

Agree with everything pimenta said. It's easy to understand why people have such high expectations of Ayu, but as was already said, not everything she releases has to be a masterpiece. I still don't care for CAROLS at all and I don't understand all the hype around it, back then or now. :shrug

I am very picky about music to begin with. It's basically like... if I really like an artist, I can probably loop their tracks endlessly, haha. Depends on what else is around really... It was hard to run through LOVE again much since it was a whole album, but I came close to about 100 plays-per-track on that album before I switched to Tell All.

Namie's Contrail has a few hundred plays (400+) atm after I discovered it about a week after Feel the love. I actually play the tracks simultaneously so they sort of mashup, haha.

u looped this even when u were sleeping and not using your computer/ipod right? because if my numbers are right, in this 8 days we get the song you should've listened 24 hours a day IN FOUR days to get that mark. '___'

truehappiness 31st October 2013 08:38 AM

No, I was around the entire time when listening to it, haha. I'd say I've had it since the day after release on iTunes and haven't really stopped playing it since then. I can sometimes hear the song mashed up with Contrail even when I'm going to bed... (I put my computer to sleep)

I just really like the song and it feels like it's been ages since we had something upbeat like this. (I know You & Me wasn't that long ago but the chorus is wackadoodle addicting)

Pieces_of_SEVEN 31st October 2013 08:51 PM

I'm only at about 120 plays...lord lol

That'd be horrific. Everything Yasutaka gets in touch with immediately turns into an indefinable vocaloid pop. I have listened to his works; Ami Suzuki, MEG, Kyary, capsule, mini and it's one indistinguishable mass of random vocals that all sound more or less the same.

Youtube only counts a new views if you reload the page every time you watch a video. If you finish watching and then just press play to watch it again it won't count as new view.

The easiest way to put a video automatically on loop on youtube while still guaranteeing it'll always count new views is creating a playlist in your account with the video you want to watch, and then putting that playlist to play in loop, this way the page will be automatically reloaded each time and you can listen to it in loop without even having the need to press play each time :)

Lessons kpop teach you :laugh (this is pretty much the reason kpop videos have so many plays, many fans do that so the videos can reach million views)

Cornie 4th November 2013 10:04 AM

^ Yeah, kpop MV-s teached me this too, maybe around Bigbang - Monster..

hayasaki 4th November 2013 10:26 AM

Does youtube count the views per frequency or per person/ip address?

pimenta 4th November 2013 11:33 AM

^ per frequency. Each time someone loads the page and watch the video it counts a view. If you want to count a new view you have to refresh the page before watching the video again. It doesn't matter if it's the same IP/account (but IIRC the likes are per account, or something like that).

truehappiness 4th November 2013 04:09 PM

Oh, I actually always CTRL+F5'd the main Ayu page now. (and every hour or so there are at least 100 new views on the videos) I knew that just replaying the song via that "play again" button wasn't going to work (but I said it just because it was easier haha) but lately they've made it so you have to reload a brand new instance of the video any time you want to rewatch it which is strange...

brener 5th November 2013 06:33 AM

12k and the video will hit 400k, it would be amazing to reach 1M before the single release...

The 'short' version we had earlier was basically the same as the full version. -shrug- But if you don't like it, you don't like it.

Maemi 16th November 2013 09:29 PM

Feel the love is the first song after many years that I will call trash from her discography, the chorus is terrible and it sounds even worse with her voice.

truehappiness 16th November 2013 10:19 PM

If the chorus is bad, that's really Komuro's fault. A lot of the songs on Love songs had great verses but then the choruses were really REALLY bad...

jbrat2219 16th November 2013 10:44 PM

Really? I love the choruses... I love Love songs period. At this point I don't think there's a single song I don't like, including Thank U.

I love Love songs too, but some of the choruses lacked the 'oomph' that choruses tend to have. There would be a lot of buildup with the verses and then you're sort of brought back down when the chorus kicks in.

Can't understand why people don't like this song, I think its amazing! Its one of the very few songs of her's that I have been able to get my friends to enjoy. I really think its one of her better, more modern songs in a long long time.

truehappiness 16th November 2013 11:51 PM

It could be because it's a little TOO accessible? The chorus is really nice even though (like Thank U) it's very simple and is basically Feel the love / night and day / you & me and we can dance all night / we can feel the love tonight / I'll be searching for my love on repeat.

Totally agree with Love songs lacking the oomph. I adore that album now, but it's mainly because it's a nice, smooth listen. I did feel at the time though that the verses felt they were building up to something epic yet the chorus never took off. For example, November entire chorus sounds like a pre-chorus to me. I am obsessed with that song, but the way it's constructed sounds like it's building up to something. But that's it, the chorus is the buildup. The album is good now but it's true that the whole album felt like that.

November is one of my favorite choruses of all time! Right next to HEAVEN <3

ayumisrael 17th November 2013 12:36 AM

Zeke, I think I understand what you're saying but I think that you might mean that the pre-chorus part sounds like the chorus and after that there's a real chorus lol. It sometimes happens to me anyway because I start singing the pre-chorus part as the "chorus" and then after I finish I get to the chorus and like (oh that's the chorus!) something like that lol.

November is actually one the beautiful songs. It's full of emotions and I love the arrangement.

jbrat2219 17th November 2013 12:39 AM

I cry right before the final chorus. I feel like I've been blessed by Godasaki.

kagami 17th November 2013 02:15 AM

I'm totally on the November love bandwagon! It's one of her most beautiful and emotional ballads, loved it since the very first listen.

The choruses in Love songs were quite good. Only annoying chorus was do it again, because the engrish was bad, and she repeats it way too much:) Feel the love has better engrish so I like its chorus.

So.....I finally listened to this again and Iove it. Like love love it. It acgually made me smile and idk the last time a song made me smile.

But its still calming and not too bright for me. I quite like the chorus and the instrumental parts. The verses sound likentypical ayu verses and thet get better as they go along I guess.

Its weird for me to like this as much as I do right now lol. But im glad it exists. I quite enjoy it a lot. Its simple, but theres things I really like about it. Mmmm...some parts give me the feel of some of old Halvin Harris songs that I miss in that it relaxes me lol. But its upbeat.

There's a clear difference between the overall feeling of the Love songs compositions and her classic OOMPH tracks. They are good yes but the verses smoothly flow into the choruses, versus a chorus that explodes from the verses, EX: Microphone.

But yes, the arrangement is gorgeous and that final chorus is epic. I wrote a whole thing on it in the past.

I sometimes think this song should be called "Feel the Hate"

it was the best out of the Love songs, the only one from the ones we didn't get to hear untill the album came out, but i got over it very quickly. I do like the arangment, but i have to agree with Zeke that the chorus just goes right down the hill while the whole thing builds up so nicelly up to it. Also think with different vocals it might have sounded better.

As for Feel The Love.... i still don't feel that song, the arangement is still annoying the hell out of me, even tho i still do enjoy the melody, and the "you & me" part too, ayu just pronounces that so...i dunno..japanese tend to speak english as if they had a hot potato in their mouth lol

i ave a feeling if they gave up a classical arangement like Me & You got the song would sound sooooooo much better.

I agree with Zeke about the feeling of Love songs, and for me that's probably why I love that album so much, it's my top favorite Ayu album to listen from beginning to end because it flows so smoothly :)

I actually tend to really like all TK's compositions, he's a great composer imo :yes For Feel the love I think the main problem isn't the composition, but the arrangements...

truehappiness 18th November 2013 12:43 AM

Mmm, that radio rip. I have been listening to like 3 songs at the same time for the last week or two, haha. It's interesting how Feel the love can blend into the different albums...

Ayu's songs would be better if she stopped with the Engrish.
