This CDL looks really cool
My only problem from this preview is that her voice sounds extremely processed
And it's really noticeable too
so that's a bummer :(

Her voice seems a little bit studio record sometimes, but oh well, it's great to hear her sounding "live" anyway :D

I can't really tell whether it sounds processed or not, though it does sound different from the studio recordings.

Still a nice preview though I wish she had a better team making her digests. I recon they would even look better if she hired a fan with the knowledge and it would look 200x better and probably a fraction of what it cost her avex staff to do it

now that i see it, the cover totally doesnt match the digest HAHA that party atmosphere is not captured at all.

For me, the cover fits in this weird way. The same way the feel the love/Mgr cover fits the single well to me.

This cover makes me think of something like "I seem to be calm and sweet, but the sun is setting now, and I'm gonna party hard tonight !"

Love is All is brilliant HAHHA!! I love it. TIMMY AND PRINCESS' DUET IS AMAZING!!!!! And finally no ribbon dance! THIS IS WAY BETTER! Aerial swing performance..im really impressed. And there's a beautiful story for this one :D I have no words for Timmy's voice haha! It's really superb. I just can't look at him.

CAROLS is FLAWLESS!!!! Love the petal-like snow that is for real finally falling in front of the stage. Gorgeous. Though just when you thought "AYU IS FINALLY SINGING ALONE!!" 2 dancers come out...lOlzzz
AND AYU IS FINALLY ALONE IN MOMENTUM OMG!!!!! I miss such moments for so longgg T.T

Has she worn the is this LOVE? costume before? Even so, omg...she looks amazing with that ponytail belting out like a queen <3 Ayu looks incredible in this getup. and this was followed by the best performance of Love song imo. She teared her and she held her emotions. I teared too watching this. the emotions came through so powerfully in this one. ><

Absolutely loved part of Me and Curtain call. She sung them slightly acoustic! Curtain call had a gospel choir and more power than the original CD version. It was very moving to see Ayu sing with her heart sitting down. It reminded me of the CDL 9 years ago when she sang walking proud and Key.

Bold & Delicious sounds SO CHIC!! wow. It's a whole new arrangement like what people have said. It doesn't feel like a last song at all. I can't describe the exact style. It sounds like a musical! HAHA. And Ayu's new vocal background singer finally showcases her solo here..WOW HER VOICE IS GOOD! Princess is amazing too! Hitting high notes everywhere. It's a fun and playful end to the CDL :)

In all,
there's quite a bit of new stuff in this CDL and im very surprised! HAHA! I enjoyed this CDL A LOT! The cover totally does NOT match the contents in the disc LOL..gosh..(neither does the logo haha). The acrobatics team seems to be integrated into team for this CDL, doing their own stunts as part of the random choreography.

Omg...WE WISH is so good. Like the best version of WE WISH ..and that electric guitar rocks..I don't know what, but I feel something different in the sound of the song. Ayu is really fierce in this song!

Free & Easy is also good! I love the chorus (she always ruined the song because of the chorus but here she nailed it).

Yeah it's totally processed. I could tell in We Wish. It's like she's a vocaloid. Lol. And the way she sings now, for me the notes sound flat. It's just not authentic sounding or "hearty" and "raw" anymore.

I have never bought a CDL before as I tend to generally prefer the actual tour DVDs, but I might have to make an exception for this year! Looks like so much fun and the stage is really cool.

This CDL is kinda fresh. Make me wanna buy it and I haven't bought any of her lives since PoM (actually I bought her 15th anniversary I still haven't seen...).

Still annoyed By Tim's outfits and the whole backup singers and dancers presence.

I would kill to have the "unplugged" Curtain call/part of ME with unedited vocals...

I don't know if it is me or else but the processing over her voice is becoming really annoying. She almost sounds like a computer, like she is almost singing playback/not singing as she doesn't seem to struggle a bit and hits every not perfectly with a perfect voice condition... It is really annoying. The whole thing gives me a fake impression and distracts me from the show.

They may have changed the way they edit her voice or, as she is improving the process may be too heavy, Idk...

Still want to hear her REAL voice for once. Damn she is a singer!

I guess Feel the love and WE WISH were rather processed..but the rest was pretty fine. I could actually FEEL from her voice..esp. Love song. that performance is perhaps one of the best in the CDL

Idk, for anyone to ever believe anything is ayu's true voice, it has to be bad. Or at least, certainly not good. And usually that kills enjoyment of a lot of performances for people. They can't handle her vocal quality. Whatever editing is going on, it sounds fine to me. She actually sounds good here, though idk how much is her. Personally, I'd like to believe that ayu can actually sing and goes through periods of improvement on her voice. But when ayu sounds great, it's hard to believe. So I don't know. It's like she can't be herself in her raw form without consequences. Whatever, as long as I enjoy performances.

Personally I don't mind when she doesn't sound great as long as it isn't awful and ruining the song. So this post is just rambling

I like the way these performances are set up. It's fun. The stage is lovely. Costumes are lovely. I can't wait to see the rest.

She looks so happy during WE WISH. It's adorable. I really like that performance. So good.

Woooah her voice on WE WISH :/ I've never been too bothered by her lip syncing or editing because she's a performer, but when it's this obvious it's really off putting, especially for a live DVD.

More importantly, Ayu, please stop with the sparkly tin foil coats. They will never be good.

WE WISH arrangement sounded good at first - the electro guitar for intro was nice, but it was too overpowering during the chorus of the song and took away the power of that part imo. It sounded like Ayu just singing over the guitar and you could barely make out the supporting arrangement.

She`s just standing there and singing... I actually waited for the break and what she would do, and then... she did nothing, cause of the dancers. xD
A bit sad, she didn`t even try to move a bit more.
But overall a enyoable performance.

The opening costume is a big shame because the Because of You, CAROLS and Love Song costumes are amongst her best.

She sounds (and looks) amazing in Free & Easy! :heart evolution & WE WISH sound pretty good too, but she's doing that weird pronunciation thing she's been doing since last year and it puts me off.

And Yo-chan looks amazing with shorter hair.

Ayu's voice for Free & Easy was flawless. However, I didn't like the way it was performed. I enjoy seeing Ayu high in the sky performing F&E or like STADIUM tour 2002 (just her singing, no dancers).

It's her special "thank you" message full of gratitude from her heart for each and every one of the people from all the nation who she had the chance to have a beautiful encounter with in 2013 (referring to people who went to her lives cause then the footage strats playing)

I'm loving this CDL. Love song is easily one of her best and most deep performances as of lately. I love it. I cried with her lol

That new way of editing that they're using is way too heavy, it's like "please welcome new android Ayu!" It's just painful to listen to her overprocessed vocals.

It's annoying because Ayu doesn't need all that editing at all. Sure she doesn't sound flawless live but I actually love listening to her imperfections. Avex try to make the vocals too perfect. :no

I kind of just wish I could actually see her live and form my opinion on her vocals in person

Just finished watching it. It's a really fun CDL and her voice was good for the most part. CAROLS was gorgeous :heart And Merry-Go-Round was really fun with m-flo showing up! And I loved the Hello Kitty DJ part. Oh, and the swing aerial dance was impressive!

Love Song was beautiful too. The videoclip showing her older performances + the 'thank you' message + her tearing up made it seem like it's her last CDL, though. (But I haven't seen the two CDL's before this one so maybe it's a regular thing.)

My only complaints would be the overkill of dancers (old news, I know) and Timmy's outfit being out of place during the aerial dance thingy song.

I think I'm the only one who really don't care about her vocals being edited... Edited or not, she's singing live during the whole concert and even if she's using playback sometimes it's pre-recorded and not often... I'd rather watch powerful and happy Ayu with overly edited voice than robotic with '98 playback Britney Spears who makes me feel ashamed to be a fan and who can't even sing ballads live...
And besides, avex doesn't care about fans who want to buy a dvd with real vocals... especially when Ayu doesn't sound that good. You want unedited vocals? Go to a concert... Sad but true and complaining will do nothing.

This CDL is the best concert she had since Rock 'n' Roll Circus Tour. CAROLS performance took my breath away, Boys & Girls and You & Me was just one big LOL and Ayu finally got rid of that ugly contacts and doesn't look like an alien anymore.
The only thing I'm mad for is removing MC... :c

I really loved this concert. I haven't liked a CDL this much since her 2010-2011~do it again~CDL.

Reading comments and then seeing the performance of Feel the Love disappointed me hearing how much it was edited but it really picked up for me when WE WISH started.

I really liked the new stage and the new arrangement for Bold & Delicious (I would like to see that version performed again).

Though it seemed like the concert jumped around and was cut weird. Especially after Curtain Call. Did they cut out the MC there? It just felt like something was missing.

Okay, so now that I watched the whole thing, I'm in love with this cdl. I think it's very well done and I love the way ayu is the whole time ♡ Sometimes, I wish there were less dancers but whatever, that's never stopping. This actually is one of her better ones in a while and everything sounds lovely. I love the bold and delicious arrangement.

I don't care much about voice editing in this CDL. The whole CDL on DVD is so good. If haters believe they can do better jobs, make a proposal to avex and edit for ayu.

Her voice was always edited when it comes to concert DVD's/Blu-ray's... IDK why people act as if it's a big deal, I'm pretty she ain't the only singer who has done this... Heck, some singers just lip-sync.

And honestly, do you really want to hear her "raw" voice for Feel the Love performance? There's a reason why they processed her voice THAT much~

This is one of her best CDL. I don't care whether her voice is edited or not.

^IIRC, there was an audio/video with "raw" performance of FTL and it wasn't that bad. I think that's the point why most people are mad about editing.

The point is not the voice being edited, but it being edited THAT much. Since the release of the A BEST LIVE audio CD and the DVD, her voice has always been extremely edited, far more noticeable than before.

Exactly! I am baffled how anyone can miss the change in her vocal editing. As someone put it, it's as if they are "introducing new Android Ayu!"

Listen to R'n'R Circus microphone where there is power and force behind her voice. As well as Memorial address. Unbelievable.

Now compare the sound to her current edited voice. It has a ton of reverb. It sounds almost completely processed using the template of Ayumi Hamasaki - not being projected from a real person.

I will say I have not watched the show yet. However, from the clips I've heard, that is what I noticed. I will watch when I have time, but it's like her voice now sounds like how the lip-synced pre-recorded tracks during past lives (ANGEL'S SONG, HONEY @ CDL). It has that "smoothed out rawness" to it. She may have been singing the show live but I feel like whatever they have done to pre-recorded tracks in the past, they are starting to filter the same way in post-processing prior to release.

Performances of the past have been good to watch her give life to songs - to really channel and enhance the environment of the song before our very eyes. Add a little something that makes the live version unique among recordings, etc. Now I feel as if she's not projecting life through these performances. It's very cookie-cutter.

Anyway, just an observation. I will watch the full things eventually.

EDIT: Watching a bit and during CAROLS and momentum it doesn't look as if the sound is coming directly from her voice. It looks like a layover or she is lipping. Secondily, I do think she lipped momentum because even at the time of recording she said she had difficulty getting that one out. She barely struggled here and there was a specific part where her voice trailed off/faded away as if it was an effect of editing.

Because of You is sung with high pitch? Since when? I feel like I'm watching a tv show where they have re-cast the lead actress / voice actress.

Although I haven't watched it completely yet, her voice does sound different during Feel the love, especially in the verses. I love the performance of WE WISH, and I don't mind the voice editing so much there. I do wish Because of You and Free & Easy had been performed in full, instead of cutting out the second verses.

I have such mixed feelings about the DVD for this concert. Overall, the energy level was amazing, I love the new machinery and how they utilized it on stage, I enjoyed watching the dancers perform the choreography for the new songs...DJ Hello Kitty and m-flo were both gr9 (VERBAL, I love you, but omfg that outfit needs to go) and it really seemed like Ayu was into it. If I had been there, I think it would have been one of my favorite concert experiences! At some points it felt to me like what AT09 should have been like. There was so much they could have done with a tour for NEXT LEVEL and to this day I still think it fell flat.

But whoever was in charge of the audio editing for this DVD needs to contemplate a change of career--and fast. The disconnect between the ~version of Ayu's vocals that comes out of the speaker and how she's moving her lips is seriously distracting. In some cases I suspect it's because she's lip synching...she has this habit of way-overexaggerating her mouth movements when she does that, and I've noticed that the more time progresses, the worse it gets. You used to have a hard time being able to tell which tracks were lip-synched and which ones were live...I find it quite easy to tell nowadays, which is kind of annoying. Her 'acting' antics have gotten a bit over the top, and so has her lip-synching technique. From this concert, FtL in particular comes to mind.

This is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. I'm not a professional sound editor, I make no claim to be, but if I'm NOT a pro and I can hear that there's a profound difference between how her voice *should* sound coming out of the speakers and how it DOES sound--processed to hell and back--then you know there's a problem.

I agree 100%. Though I will say that wasn't present in all the songs--but it wasn't really until Love song that I felt like I was hearing Ayu's real voice...and it was beautiful! She was on key and it sounded more like HER than any of the performances before it. (I realize that all of her vocals from the DVD have undergone some form of post-processing, but to get almost halfway through the concert before you see something that constitutes a performance that has 'the whole package' is just sad.) I was sobbing my eyes out at the Love song performance. It's all the more frustrating because, hearing her vocals on that song, it doesn't sound like there was the need to edit her vocals as much as they did for the (majority of the) rest of the concert. This isn't CDL01-02 we're talking about here.

Other random CDL related thoughts:

-Yocchan's short hair and clown shoes age him about two decades. Bring back long-haired Yocchan plz.

-Who do I have to sleep with to get Timmy off stage and never have to see/hear him again? "Love is All" was truly painful.

-I am glad, however, that Yoshi finally got a partner for her aerial work. It was great seeing something new from her other than the tissue dance...that routine was super impressive!

-Love song killed me, brought me back to life, cremated me, and scattered my ashes to the wind.

-Bold & Delicious arrangement = LIFE. It reminds me of the PoM arrangement a bit (but I can't speak as to how much since I haven't seen it in a while) but the ending with Ayu was super cute.

-It must suck to be that new backup vocalist and be relegated to the position of Third [Vocal] Wheel. But damn, that girl's got a set of pipes, and I honestly think her voice works better with Ayu's than either Timmy or Princess' voices. That being said...Princess, girl, you look like a wannabe lolita cosplayer that got lost in JoAnn Fabrics. And you sound like you're trying to be the next Peco. Please, for the love of god, just stop.

-Lico and her smooching Ayu on the cheek/dancing all up on Enrique was giving me so much life omfg. You better work, bitch.

^Not that it makes difference that I say it, as sometimes AHS seens to have a hard time getting simple business aspects, but Princess doesn't get to chose what she will dress. Or what she will sing. Or how she will sing. People hiring her, directing and producing the concert, chose those stuff. If you want to blame someone by how Princess (or anyone else on stage) looked or how she performed, I will give you a hint: The name is written in big letters on the DVD cover, and every concert DVD since 2005 or so ends with a still of this person, crediting them as the main producer.

Agreed about feeling a sigh of relief during Love song when it actually sounded like ayu! Could feel the sound coming deep from her voice box. It's 4am and I just woke up with those "lalas" haunting me at the end if love song. Totally loved those and that melody. Not the one where she was like speaking something, but the la la LA la la LA la LA la LA parts.
