^that's what i had in mind exacty :) On colours she has some of the bigest names in the worldwide industry, they really cannot be titled as "not known". It would be more like "who's that person?" if none knew about any of them.

I think she should go back to composers pre-TK. There are some great ones that used to be part of her reputiore whom she hasn't used in a long time. To me, that's the key. Everyone is for change, change and she's done that enough. Or at least tried to. Bring back the old and see how they can deliver in this era.

However it's a cd release, not record. The catalog number is "AVCD-83113". If it was a vinyl Record it would be "RR12-83113". All of her records' serial numbers start with RR12, and her cds all start with AVCD. It's the same no matter where you go. Not just Avex.

For example, Utada is with EMI Music Japan. The catalog number for all her cds start with "TOCT-" and her records all start with "TOJT-".

Why do you need new stuff? Colours came out 2 months ago. Be grateful that she might releasing anything at all. We've gotten 1 physical single in the last 3 years. I'll be happy with whatever she releases.

I can understand why the would cancel the re-cut single since it will most likely at most sell around 15k, and there's no use for it, unless it has a PV and a good remix.

But the premium showcase...why cancel that? unless they're planning to package the single + the DVD together ala Ami Suzuki's Snow Ring or Kimura Kaela's Mamireru. That would make sense, in fact I would prefer that, since it is a showcase and not a tour so why would it get it's own DVD release?

Then you mentioned that you love quality more than quantity... a bit ironic in my sense. As per above you seems to make a big deal that you expected a 10/10 album.

I understand what you mean but you can see it both ways.
We got an album composed of 10 songs and this album is not even cohesive, the quality is not constant. It would have been really easy to have an electro pop album. I could not listen to the thing at all, you are right but there are some songs that I really enjoy (and others that I enjoy while thinking the arrangements are horrendous...) So quantity is not there I'm ok, but quality is lacking too.
A single with Pray/HNM/WIFL plus a mini with the other new songs would have been a clever pattern IMO. There is no artistic direction, real decision.

And to be clear, I'm not making a big deal out of anything. I just expressed my opinion that I don't really understand the dilemma about 2 remixes and a PV (proof that I don't care that much, and it's been a long time) that I need something fresh and great even ONE great innovatve song would be enough. And I will move along if she won't. Please don't read what I'm writing as a rant. I'm doing quite fine discovering plenty of other artists. I'm just SAD.
To sum up it's been too long I've been waiting for somethong great.
And I know people will tell me "nobody forces you to listen to her". But I like her as an artist/some of her recent songs. So I still like to listen to her new stuff. But man the quality has dropped so much. And it's not because of the quantity! The only -sad- thing I can think about is that she doesn't really care about what she is releasing anymore or that she is not herself a great artist and that she just had clever professionals behind her the first 7 years or so (professionals who miraculously reappeared for Love songs haha).

The Quality vs. Quantity argument is really crap, tbh. In her hayday when she was releasing a million songs a minute, there was not one song where I was like "Please, I don't want to hear anymore," unlike some of the stuff from Colours. I really, REALLY don't understand why Terminal is hailed as such a great song. The song sounds like everything has just been copied and pasted everywhere, and nothing is dynamic about that song, like AT ALL. So I am 100% glad that this song is not being released as a single. I have listened to the album like 2 times, and I just. I can't. Lelio is great though, I like that song. And Pray. But yeah... I even enjoy her voice in progress than in Angel. Adskjashadsldkhaslkadshdsa. It just sounds like everything is halfassed with no real care made for the songs. I dunno. Ahhhh.

it's not cancelled. OBVIOUSLY there's going to be a DVD/blu ray at some point in the near future. The date has just been postponed.

I think after her 15th annivesary ayu is in another way. I mean I never seen other artists non japanese who release 3 or 4 singles + album every year. Like Koda do or Namie. So it's not bad at all that she for the moment doesn't work like this anymore. We have Kuu and Namie to have new releases before ayumi and your own artist that you like.

Kuu isn't releasing a lot like before (she is now a mom, and she probably wants some time with her family) and Namie is having problems with her agency, so she isn't releasing a lot either, she had thousands of covers for magazines, but not new music

I hope Koda will do it for her anniversary and namie after finish her tour. But I think Koda and Namie will release singles and albums before ayu. I don't have any idea what ayu will do for next year.

The 1st of October sounds about right. For one there's an official cover now and two it's on a Wednesday. The majority if not all of Ayu's releases are on Wednesdays as are the majority of Japanese releases
