Maaaan, these acapella songs are the best from the setlist :laugh Hopefully we get to see at least some of them

AyuGAME 6th October 2015 02:23 PM

I hope they recorded all acapella section and made it into the dvd

YukiUsagi 6th October 2015 02:27 PM

To be :gun

Surreal17 6th October 2015 02:27 PM

I've asked this few days ago but nobody replayed. Does anyone know if these acapellas are full (or chorus only)?
And wow, she didn't perform You were.. since CDL 09-10.

tokyoxjapanxfan 6th October 2015 03:16 PM

They're not full. At least not on the 2nd haha.

Seems like it's kinda become sort of a request situation. Someone yelled Never Ever, so she sang it.

//ABEST 6th October 2015 03:31 PM

i hope someone yells Merry-go-round! it'd be superb

attractive nausea 6th October 2015 05:11 PM

LONJJONG 6th October 2015 06:03 PM

Then she will add another TA live manner, "Do not request pre-avex songs". :roflmao

Gustavopc 6th October 2015 06:21 PM

I wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't remember it, but either way her reaction would be worth a shot :laugh

voltron 6th October 2015 10:03 PM

So I'm late here, as I just got back from Tokyo last night, but I was at the Oct. 2 show and wanted to share some of my experience/thoughts.

She sounded GREAT. I was really afraid after A+Nation that she would sound bad, but really her vocals were very strong (and the song choice really helped this). I was almost in the very front, so seeing her up close was amazing, and how hard she was pushing herself to sing.

She looked SO YOUNG. The recent Music Station video had me worried, but she looked amazing. The hair looked like amazing Namie hair. Her outfits were great, but the first one in particular made her feel so cool and fresh. I think if more people got to see her like that, instead of always so polished, it would help her image a bit, to seem more relatable and youthful.

The venue was small, and the process of picking up tickets was a bit of a pain (and the English of the staff was virtually non-existent). Also you were assigned an entry number, so it was kind of luck of the draw. We were 163-164 I think -- it seems like people who got tickets without a non-TA member were a little earlier. But even still, I was no more than 3 people back from the stage. And those little Japanese girls can PUSH. We were so cramped, and the shoving was really insane (and very uncomfortable at times) -- there were moments when literally I was pushed so hard my feet weren't on the ground and I was just being held up in the air. It was especially bad when some of the girls were stanning for dancers...and not even cute ones, but whatever.

Chris85 6th October 2015 10:26 PM

Voltron, thank you for the report! Did she look into your eyes?:-)

I think everybody probably thinks she did (and some can even say they touched her hand, but unfortunately I can't). I DO think she noticed me and looked me in the eyes, and smiled when she saw me mouthing lyrics. But that can also be wishful thinking. :)

melissalove 7th October 2015 02:07 AM

Thanks for the review! Aaah can this special live be on sale already. I so wanna see it!! ;)

voltron 7th October 2015 02:42 AM

And some more thoughts as I think about them and remember.

I also saw her years ago at CDL 04-05. While I think a lot of her upper register is dimished or weakened, her lower register is way more powerful. I think she really chose songs that suited her current voice.

During the MC Yocchan got to talk for a while. He was mentioning that he and Ayu were the only ones there that were part of the last TA tour. They also chose winners based on ticket numbers for the signed Ayu balls. He mentioned that especially in this venue it would be too crazy to throw them. And he joked that Ayu will throw them and hit people in the head, but they'd still be like, oh I received this bruise from Ayu, how amazing. Later in the concert she did throw someone her towel though.

As I'm sure you can tell from the cake, we sang happy birthday to Ayu during the MC. We were given a piece of paper as we entered telling us of the plan.

And before the encore Timmy's shoulder piece started falling apart and dropping little metal balls on the stage, so they came to sweep that up in the dark when offstage.

YAS! That was exactly what I thought when she came out. I was pretty amazed. My venue was pretty good (Zepp Namba) because there were crowd breakers on the floor, so people couldn't push even if they wanted to. I was number 162 with the other global TA members too (and we appeared on the staff blog!!).

Ayu didn't throw a towel in the crowd but she did give out signed ones lucky-draw style just like the pink balls (she even signed them right on the stage and asked for the people to shout their names across the hall lol!) Yo-chan threw his guitar pick to the audience at the end too.

voltron 7th October 2015 06:00 PM

I found this on YouTube and haven't seen them posted yet:

https://youtu.be/lI36scHg1VQ - Love Song, Zepp Namba

I don't know what happened, but she sounded WAY better on Tokyo.

Coelacanth 7th October 2015 06:21 PM

I read some Japanese comments that she sounded not too great at Namba. maybe she partied too hard on her birthday?

those "yeahs" in Love song are pretty rough.

melissalove 7th October 2015 06:31 PM

Omg ayu sounded awful :(. Maybe she's sick!!

Surreal17 7th October 2015 06:49 PM

Hopefully, someone recorded Wishing. I can't believe she finally sang it.

~angel*ayumi~ 7th October 2015 07:25 PM

Comments on Mixi are full with "Wishing", also someone said something about HANABI o.o
Oh well I think we will have setlist latest by tomorrow^^

Surreal17 7th October 2015 07:44 PM

exactly :)))
all I see is "w h i s h i n g" lol

I also read something about "You were"

And now for the first time ever, I have Wishing on replay xD
Beautiful winter ballad

mizuki-7 7th October 2015 07:49 PM

It's not that bad but she sound really tired for sure ... 3 consecutives shows without rest for her voice is exhausting... I read on mixi a fan saying for the 3rd day at Namba her voice was truly hoarse but she sung "Wishing" perfectly =)

//ABEST 7th October 2015 09:42 PM

really?? is her voice bad in your opinion? i guess i'm deaf or something but i think she sounds good :tired i've heard her voice being way worse than this

voltron 7th October 2015 10:10 PM

It's not her most awful performance for sure. But after seeing her on her birthday show and everything being so spot on, it's a huge shock.

She is not going to do something like.." Sorry, I am so sick, so I am not going to sing.. Let's have Q&A then finish this tour."

She forces herself for her fans...

Miduhyo 7th October 2015 11:24 PM

The beginning wasn't all that great but to be honest I've never really minded that opening for love song. It's such a good song by itself it doesn't need that slow piano opening.

I want to hear about Wishing, however. xD

kotora 8th October 2015 08:51 AM

so where is the confirmed setlist for last night?

Aderianu 8th October 2015 10:16 AM

Yeah, that´s rly strange o.o
Unfortunatly my friend who was at the concert also doesn´t remember xD

AyuGAME 8th October 2015 11:21 AM

the beginning part is really bad...off key big times..the yeah part failed as well

but after that I think it's ok..can be better, more powerful...
but yes she sounded a little sick and tired...

Surreal17 8th October 2015 12:10 PM

I wonder what song did she scrapped for Wishing? Hopefully, its not in the acapella section Q__Q

Anna.L 8th October 2015 09:24 PM

Someone scream Criminal, It Was, Guilty, Liar on the venue please

Delicious n Bold 8th October 2015 09:34 PM

She performed an unperformed song??
Omg criminal and GUILTY have a chance!!!
Pray for kanariya too

kotora 9th October 2015 12:48 AM

I hope someone not to scream NOTHING FROM NOTHING..

I hope some scream It was, GUILTY, The meaning of love, Shape of Love, ever free, etc...

MessiahofSilence 9th October 2015 01:25 AM

Doesn't she not perform everfree because it's about her grandmother or something? I heard that somewhere before, that's it's sort of like how she doesn't like to sing poker face.

kotora 9th October 2015 01:35 AM

i thought Poker Face was the only song for her grandma???

hayasaki 9th October 2015 01:59 AM

who... is actually the song for grandma.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 9th October 2015 02:00 AM

^yup. poker face was just recorded right after she found out that her grandmother had passed away.

If anyone yells for NOTHING FROM NOTHING, I'm seriously gonna be waiting for you outside the venue. Like, don't.

Anna.L 9th October 2015 02:30 AM

an unperformed song like criminal or even ps ii, i will die for this

but now i'm praying for songs like Monochrome in CDL

kyo_arayuru 9th October 2015 02:52 AM

Ok this thread confuses me about ayu's family now.. How many fathers did she have??

Who... is for her grandma too?

How many DEATH songs she has?

I only know, poker face, UNTITLED 1 and 2, Memorial address, SAKURA.

jiarongisme 9th October 2015 05:44 AM

untitled ~for her~ and untitled for her... story 2 is for her best friend. Memorial address is about the passing of her father.

SAKURA is not a necessarily a death song, but it just so happens that she used that song to dedicate it to her personal driver during A BEST LIVE. It's more about cherishing her loved ones. poker face was recorded right before her grandmother's death. She couldn't make it back to the hospital in time for her grandmother after the recording.

Anymore DEATH songs....

jesus, this girl is living around the god of death.

I think she sang Sakura at this year tour for fan who passed away. That was in one of articles

Wasn't that for her personal friend who died, and this was just a continuation from her first song too her, or that's what I thought. It would be odd if she titles two songs with basically the same name for two different people. I remember it was a good friend of ayu

only 1 father who she has never met. But she calls other close members of her staff that, and things like this. It can be confusing. When she refers to family like brother or father or mother, it usually refers to a close/good friend she works with. But her mother and grandmother are the only blood relations shes talked about that I can think of.

I think momentum is a death song too, but also its hard to tell what type of loss is she signing about too. It could be a love loss or life loss. And I think Moon has relation to one of her dogs that died, or she made comments about it having something special to do with one of her dogs that were dying or died, when she was making the PV

Uknow! 9th October 2015 11:09 AM

^ Yes, Momentum and Moon are death songs. Momentum is fictional, I think. For me this song is about a person who dies and still living in the world like a spirit, the same in the PV.

Moon is about the dog like you say (But I think never confirmed)

BALLAD is about death too, but I'm sure is fictional because Ayu said. (If I remember good)

Ever Free too, is about the funeral of her grandmother or father, I don't know.

hayasaki 9th October 2015 12:21 PM

We're getting kinda out of topic, but, i like most of ayu's death songs. She could make a good compilation album with them. Nah, i'm just kidding. death is some serious thing to tackle and there might be some deep reason why she rather not perform some of them live.

but i've seen enough Memorial Address, or Who..., i'd love some live of Heaven ~acoustic piano version~

The lyrics for moon is for a person not a dog. Specially when she says "So please don't ask me anymore
With such sad eyes, in a trembling voice
"Do you love me?"
though i can see why it might be for a dog metaphorically.

Ayu's last vocals on the song momentum sends shivers down my spine.:luv2

Yukitora 9th October 2015 04:44 PM

She clearly has met her father, read the lyrics to Teddy Bear.

tenshi no hane 9th October 2015 06:10 PM

Her father left when she was young.

Quote:

She doesn't know her father's face. She has of course never asked Mommy anything about her father not at home. But she knows that the scenery she looked out of the window listening to the yellow cassette tape in her oldest memory was just at the moment of her parents' devorce, and that the man Mommy was seeing off silently was his father. After having noticed that, she listened to the story in the yellow cassette tape again and again.

BALLAD is not about death necessarily. "As for Ballad,it is a song about a love that is greater than a personal romantic love, maybe the love of a child for his mother." from Sweet February 2010

Oh thanks, but really, the pv, the live performance, the lyrics, all is about death haha I read something from her saying is about a death (maybe it wasn't true ^^)

Surreal17 10th October 2015 05:12 PM

I agree. The visuals are all so gloomy and simbolic of death. But at the same time, I feel that the emphasis is put on missing someone. Maybe about parting ways with someone. Ayu always has multiple meanings for a song.

Deep snow 11th October 2015 05:55 AM

Wow the discussion on this thread has developed into historical overview of her songs. Nice. Kind of makes sense why she's been hesitant (if not refusing) to sing some of these songs.
