Anyway I think not getting to go on 31st is not a big deal since it's going to be broadcast. Getting tickets for 29 and 30 is always easy. |
Does someone knows what is this about?? (sorry I wasn't sure where to post this lol)

wow, must be getting desperate if they're having to advertise it for once.
the poster looks nice - just watch her sing WARNING again. |
as we know, MUSIC ON! TV will exclusively broadcast show live
To commemorate this, they will present 20 pairs of tickets! 5 for 29th, 5 for 30th and 10 for 31st December http://i.imgur.com/F9tvqrE.jpg http://www.m-on.jp/apply/present/2016/12/01/94007/ ※ Application deadline: 2016/12/14 23:59 |
That billboard is awesome.:luv2
I love how clean it is. I don't remember seeing Countdown Live promo like this before.:think |
I recall seeing billboards once or twice before for CDL. I guess goods will be pink/magenta and black?
|
oh how I tired from pink goods...
|
It would be nice if they went for some other colors like the one year she went for purple.
|
Ayu use purple quite offen for CDL. I don't mind that color =)
|
^^ What a drastic change lmao
Wish she went for blue |

I don't understand why, if her tours don't sell that well anymore why don't she just have less shows ?
|
^This. I'm no marketing expert, but if her shows as they are now (in terms of number of dates, of costume changes, props, ...) were not profitable, Avex wouldn't let her have that many just because she's Ayumi. So she must make quite a lot still, right ?
I don't mind CDL themes to be "introductions" for the following year's Arena Tour, but it's often frustrating because her voice seems to be better during CDLs than ATs, and the overall rhythm and "grandness" of the show is better during ATs. Of course it's not always true, please let me forget MIT. |
Made in Japan did have fewer shows that previous tours.
I think the two years of TA tours in a row have been an experiment of potential future directions. Look at Namie and Koda -- they both do a ton of shows per year, but they're playing halls and smaller venues. The production is minimal or non-existant, smaller staff, etc. It's easier to move around from venue to venue, with fewer overhead costs to running the show. Ayu definitely isn't at the point yet that she needs to do that, but it might be a direction she takes in a few more years. |
That advertising is unexpected! Not sure if I like the picture choice... What does the text behind her name means?
|
Quote:
|
The text under her name says "Countdown Live"
I would love a dome tour for her 20th, like Namie did...but I don't think it'll happen. But back to CDL...once Yoyogi closes its doors for renovations, I think it'll signal in a new chapter for what an Ayu concert is. I'm not sure why I think that, but I do. Any song guesses for CDL? No More Words is just waiting for a comeback, and I'm going to keep putting it out there in the universe until it happens. |
Quote:
About the songs I would love to have "no more words" <3 That's such an amazing song! Also "End of the World" and "Because of You". |
She should take a year or two off from touring. Absence might make the heart grow stronger.
|
^As much as I would hate going a year or two without seeing new Ayu performances, this woman definitely deserves a break! And I agree it might make people miss her and want to support her even more when she decides to come back. If she took a year or two off, and then came back with an AMAZING album and tour, with proper promotion, she might be able to regain a few fans, imo.
I am in love with that billboard tho :laugh I'd flip if I saw that walking down the street |

may be 2017 ayu will planning first HALL TOUR (same as Koda Kumi 2014 tour/2016 tour), the area is smaller than ARENA tour but it's bigger than Limited TA tour. Namie Amuro 2016-2017 tour is HALL TOUR too Actually most japanese singer like HALL tour because the sound equipment of HALL is very good and better than ARENA or DOME or STADIUM Tokyo International Forum HALL (above 5,500) Most of japanese singers concert like to recording DVD/BD at this area Spoiler:
|
^I am so excited about Namie's 16-17 hall tour!!
By the way, I am curious whether or not Ayu has held a hall tour?? If so, which year is that?? |
What's wrong with the ticket lottery system? My ticket of the CDL in 31 shows still waiting result...I don't know whether i have been selected or not..
|
Already got my ticket for 31st Dec :) :) :)

I think the "Just the Beginning" is for those people that are always saying "oh her career is over, she's not popular anymore, bla bla" and she's like: "Who's over bitches, this is just the beginning" :laugh a Hall Tour would be great but I think if she took a break for a year would be better, for her voice and her sales, people know she releases something every single year, a year without anything new would be something new for people, so when she comes back people would be hyped :rolleyes
|
Quote:
I guess it would be enough if she releases the live DVD/Blu-ray and then she takes a break for a year. I mean if she feels that she has to release something then just throw out a single and the album can come in the following year. I think the last time she didn't release a full studio/mini/compilation album was 1998 and 2005, right? Who knows how (m)u would have sold if she released it 2005? Also I know I am late but let me just say how AWESOME Secret is!!! <3 The album is just perfect!!! JEWEL, Startin', Born To Be... all those great songs!!! The only one I don't like that much is momentum... Yea I know the most love and praise it but for me it's just an ok-track. Still Secret is damn amazing!!! :love |
Hi! anyone is living in Japan now? I won 2 tickets for the countdown live 2016-2017 but I have to pay for it at Seven eleven in Japan only as my credit card is not working on the website. Do you have some advices for me? I have to pay before the 7th of december.

Hi guy, I wanted 2 tickets for 12/31 but I didnt win the lottery. Do you know how I can purchase 2 tickets. I saw on iflyer we can pre-register tickets but it's still not available. Can I buy tickets on this website later? Any ideas? Thanks for your reply. I need tickets because this is my birthday...
|
Quote:
As far as I know you won't be able to get tickets at iflyer unless you win the lottery. You can check this site for the availability of tickets once they become available: http://www.yokohamaticket.co.jp/tick...cket-music.cgi Also general public ticket sales will start from 2016/12/10 10:00 a.m., but you will be required to understand Japanese to navigate through website/loppi machine in convenience store to buy a ticket on first come, first served basis for example here: http://l-tike.com/search/?keyword=%E...82%86%E3%81%BF There are also always tons of tickets on Yahoo! auctions. There are people reselling tickets near the venue. If you are really determined to get your ticket, it's more than possible. |
That's weird because if FAQ section they said we can purchase iflyer tickets from outside japan. I triet to buy e-ticket from an other artist in December and it works.

I just laugh at people who say shes old news now. She is no longer the in thing yes. Just because that person doesnt listen to ayu. Doesnt mean the world doesnt :P and with whats happened in america recently, it just shows how wrong the media cam be when saying one thin and the general population thinks. Storys are made to be sold, ayu still does tours because she can still sell the seats and people do like going to her shows for a good night out. Shes not selling #1 hits but so do most that have been around as long as ayu :) Look at dolly parton, shes had her first number 1 in decades, and well know signer, I dont listen to her but she sells, same with ayu. I think ayu is just an easy target. She could do better but i think its mainly important to ayu that she just enjoys herself, especially with how her career was to begin with and the control avex had
____ I guess we will soon enough get an idea of her next area tours look too, unless she continues with the made in theme |
She is pretty old news though... But that doesn't stop me from enjoying her music.
|
|
Really simple. Most simple that they ever may create ) But that's so much better than CDL 13-14 and 14-15
edit: rehearsal https://www.facebook.com/ayu.officia...8271951190922/ I like flags! |
It gives me a "back to basics" vibe. Loving it
|
Now I am really curious about the goods...
|
The logo reminds me the emblem of japanese lords.
|
^ Hmmm an ASIA TOUR would be a nice idea for her. And to be honest I don't think it's impossible to happen. We'll see...
Wow! A simple logo... Don't know what to say about it haha I'll wait for how they will apply the logo in the goodies to have a better opinion. Hope they release other rehearsals videos with a different song lol We already had "We are the Queens" during TA Tour! |
An Asia Tour would be perfect, I know people would go crazy :luv2
|
She could do a few concerts in Europe too. Maybe in Paris or London. Lots of japanese artists do it.
|
^ Agreed. She should do some kind of TA Tour (small venue, not huge stage) in Europe. That's the perfect time and I'm pretty sure it would be a huge success.
|

I like the new logo. It looks so classy :)
|
Too simple. I want something as grand and edgy as:
http://blog-imgs-15.fc2.com/d/a/i/da...7234804fb7.jpg or http://blog.jpopdb.org/media/blogs/h...l0910-logo.png |
very-very simple....she goes for walnut color this time...which I love so much..
|
I continue to be sad that I won't be there ugh.
The logo is simple and refreshing. I love the return of that font for her name haha. |
The logo is way too simple and abit on the cheap side. I was spectating something more interesting considering the concept being "just the beginning". Disappointing.
|
Quote:
|
I agree. She won't sell tickets in Europe. Asia Tour could still happen, but with more modest success than in 2007 and 2008.
|
I think the reason I like the logo is simply because it immediately made me think of a hanko stamp lol
|
Could see them selling stamp tour goods.
The logo is whatever but at least it isn't that Cirque fanmade copy disaster. |

^ I don't, maybe she could have done it back in the late 2000's when J-pop was still popular, but not anymore. From what i know, nobody in France who's still into J-pop likes Ayu lol

I actually also think that a small Europe tour would be more than possible. If Dir en grey, MUCC, GazettE etc. and also bands who are less known are able to have 3+ dates in Germany alone, I'm pretty sure Ayu could do it too. If she would be satiesfied with around 300 people for each date, I don't see a problem.
But I guess the difference is that those visual kei bands actually love to perform in Europe, since this was a dream come true for them when they were still young. They don't do it for profit. I guess Ayu's view is a little different... |
I remember reading that Dir en grey hated Europe tour. They thought it's too hard and if fans wants to see them again, they better to come to Japan.
Also all depends from the raider list, or how this thing calls... Girugamesh was happy when fans presented them beer, and they lived in really simple hotel room. Maybe ayu wants golden toilet, ice from Antarctica and all concerts will not help to pay bills. |
Quote:
Overall, I agree that the time has passed and the only way I see if working would be done in conjunction with some kind of Japan Expo or anime convention. The only band/artist that immediately comes to mind that consistently tours worldwide is Hyde/Vamps/L'arc en Ciel, and I really get the feeling that it is more of a passion project than something that makes them great money especially Hyde/Vamps who are consistently playing small club venues overseas. Also the bands people are mentioning are visual kei bands, which the genre itself has a built in set of fans worldwide that are into the genre; I would say jpop in general is less popular than visual kei outside of Japan, whereas actually in Japan it is the exact opposite. |
Quote:
I think on the contrary Diru enjoy it very much. GazettE were once in Germany for a comvention and hated it. They thought fans would be like in Japan, but I guess they changed their mind since they came back a few years later. |
Quote:
I might be wrong but I really think she could perform in London, Paris and Berlin with success. Just remembering that I'm talking about small venue and pretty simple stage (just like Perfume did on their first tour in Europe). |
Hi sorry if not allowed,
can anyone help me purchase a ticket for Her 31st date, as i missed out on the lottery. like if someone is unable to go, or does anyone know a reseller in japan? Thanks in advance, Hard to get my ticket in Australia lol |
Yeah, watching last year's TA tour definitely made me feel like she could do a date in Europe on that scale. Unlikely to happen though I think...
|
Love the simple logo. I'd like more complex logos if her team were capable to carrying them off well with regular success but they are so hit and miss...
|
The logo looks nice and clean.:yes
Sometimes it gets too much and looks tacky. The A symbol looks so nice and just a plain perfect circle. |
I wonder what the actual 20th anniversary logo will look like..10th anni had the heart with one wing and a crown and 15th anni was a modified version of 10th with a shield replacing the heart

For me to travel to Japan would take a minimum of $800 (roundtrip flight) and 15 hours divided into 2 flights (there's no direct flight from my country).
But to travel somewhere in Europe it would cost me about $60 depending and only 2 hours of flight more or less. Even KOKIA did concerts in Paris, 10 years ago. Also I see lots of unknown (to me) Jpop and Jrock bands performing in Europe. And they always manage to sell out (small/medium venues). Ayu could do a sort of Europe TA Tour and sell out easily. |
^Exactly. I see it the same way, if she would be willing to do something like TA Tour in Europe.

★ ayumi hamasaki COUNTDOWN LIVE 2016-2017 A『Just the beginning -20- 』
Important announcement of opening times on December 31st venue opening times has been changed due to staging direction. Previous schedule: Doors open 22:00 / Main act 23:00 ↓ New schedule: Doors open 21:30 / Main act 22:30 |
Oh yes, I hope that's an indication that the show is going to be longer!
|
she did say that there would be a lot of material so this is exciting let's hope her voice is in shape
|
^I think she was talking about last concert at TA tour. But she can use this show as rehearsal before CDL
|
wow..looks like we will get longer setlist
|
Since it's just on the 31st, it could be because they need that extra 30 minutes as a safety net so they can get to midnight a bit more easily for the countdown.
|
I wish this was going to be available to stream :-/
|
Me too.
I hate not being able to see the countdown live until many months later.:( They could at least release the DVDs in January or February. |
Quote:
Other concerts can be longer as well, but they donīt need to be planned arround midnight, they just can extend it to the end. |
