About the album: Lippy's remix is awful even pitch correcting, it's like the person who remixed it really hated the song. It's funny because I've always thought that her worst remix was BUT KOZM Remix, but this one gets the crown. Thank goodness this is not a nonstop megamix, I can happily delete the song and pretend it never happened.

Damn real, W FACE, Insane, Ultraviolet, Shhh! (it could easily be the full song, I don't know why they decided to do just half song), Dance In The Rain, Bassline.

Good:
HOTEL (you know that the song has more things than just the chorus, right?), Cupcake (that drop is sooo awful, wtf. The part "be my cupcake, cupcake, cupcake, be my be my cupcake") is really good tho, Wicked Girls, Koi no Tsubomi, Cutie Honey & Ai no Uta. (why?).

Bad:
Lippy (go home, you're drunk).

Weirdly enough, all the songs that were remixed by a japanese dj are... Okay-ish? Ai no Uta, Koi no Tsubomi and Cutie Honey are so uninspired that it hurts. They are not as bad as Lippy, but why? No one asked for those songs to be there.

I don't really care that much about the other remixes, but they are all solid (unlike most of remixes from DH series)

My favorite ones are actually the Lippy one along with HOTEL, W FACE, Ai no Uta and Shhh!

Listening to DH7 finally. First half is awful (I deleted it all). From track 7 (HOTEL) onwards it's enjoyable (minus Shhh! and Lippy). This half has a little bit of that island/summer feeling to it (Britney, Selena Gomez). I was hoping that's the sound W FACE ~outside~ would have used as it's theme; Ku could do well with that style as someone else mentioned previously.

That ai no uta remix is really good! I'm glad they included it.

I always hated that sax in Shhh!; actually I always hate tracks that use those kind of big band sounds as prominent pieces of the song. For example, Shhh! really reminds me of this track which I ALWAYS HATED!


If you like Shhh! you'd probably like it.

W FACE's verses are so good but when it brings in that drop it makes my skin crawl. Whenever I'm at the clubs and tracks like that with those seriously mundane and mindless drops come on I'm just like sitting there mocking the ridiculousness of the songs in my facial expressions and stupid dance moves, lol. Idk but those songs make me feel like I'm a garbage can.

I'm not excited about new KK music video for the 1st time ever in 14 years of being her fan. This music video era just didn't hit the spot for me. The only MV I've re-watched was Bassline. Anyway, hopefully next album music videos will be more interesting like the ones for SUMMER & WINTER collection albums.

I still need that DVD in my collection and hey we won't even have W FACE MV in HD...

I'm actually really loving the Cutie Honey remix on DH7. Now that I've overplayed the Bassline remix I need a new jam.

It's a marketing tactic to keep W FACE afloat on Oricon , it's the same when Namie's _genic also had a DVD giveaway if you buy the album at the concert venue/s too

I'm not so keen to buy extra copies of W FACE to get the W FACE PV DVD though . I'm sure it will show up on auction sites for sale

even the ballad section is very long, at least we have some really good songs thrown into it and the CtC songs are probably a medley

Heartless and Stany by you > Yorokobi no Kakera and On My Way imo, so I'm totally satisfied. Besides, both songs were performed on TV already, so it's nice to see other songs there.

I'm totally happy with the setlist. It could have Bangrang instead of MONEY IN MY BAG, wich I don't care that much for the performance itself. Overall it's a solid setlist. Hope the stage is cool enough.

Omg that setlist is terrible, the third part and the encore with a bunch of old songs and the ballad one with full covers. No bangerang, on my way and yorokobi no kakera which are practically the best songs on both albums. I can't believe she got this bad for her tours since BSC. I guess Queen of live died after her 15th anniverary. WOML and The artist were the last good ones. /RIP

The opening is a dance Kuu does with the LED Screen - just like the one she did last year at FNS Natsu Matsuri on TV.
W FACE PV is said to be the best out of the 7 released for the W FACE albums.
Apparently the audience has to choose inside or outside for the encore (3 songs from each side from her discography). UNIVERSE e.g. is one of the choices. You can vote somehow at the venue.
She is also doing air acrobatics at some point again, summersalts and rotations and the like.

what was the special meaning?

^ I think they just meant that it was a single that was "specially released" for that tour.

I'm white and gay, and I honestly don't hear many white people use it.

And I think I speak for everyone when I say that opinions on race issues really don't belong anywhere on AHS. We're an extremely diverse group of people who have a common interest in Japanese (and increasingly Korean and Chinese) music culture. I'm fine with you mentioning that its origins come from gay culture (specifically the queens of color), but talking about "white folks" stealing mostly anything from gay and especially black culture undermines the fact that you're on a forum with a lot of white people who clearly care a lot about non-white artists and cultures.

I'm strongly into drag culture and men who wear makeup. I hear "yas bitch" a lot. So it didn't bother me much. I was happy that she was using slang from a community I have so much love for.

I am never the person to whine about cultural appropriation, because I think it's beautiful when cultures are inspired by one another. But, let's not get it twisted. AHS is a forum of white people who love Asian stuff lol. The only reason it's exempt from talking about culture issues is because I'm pretty sure it's just not allowed.

And don't ever say you think you speak for everyone. You don't.

Sometimes I do. Like now. I'll speak for mods, for you, for everyone: You guys can't even keep it together over Zeke. expressing a negative opinion about a song you like. I doubt there is a single person here who thinks we are all equipped with the maturity to talk about something as serious as cultural appropriation without dozens of people ending up permabanned.

It's hard to tell how much W FACE will end up selling overall since with the campaign for the W FACE PV DVD is only for the venue sales. The album is still selling fine, but DHit's numbers are a little disappointing.

Thanks for the numbers. I wonder how large Kumi's fan-base is in Japan right now, not that it matters to me just curious. I'm guessing 50 - 60k+ people. Clearly that 99% of the fans bought both inside & outside and W FACE will most likely going to sell about 30k copies each version. Although in today's music world number of physical copies sold doesn't mean anything, I think Kumi is more like Cher & Madonna now. People love her persona & live shows but only buy selected songs or just stream her music. I mean, Avex is releasing so much KLoop merchandise (3rd or 4th plush series, KLoop hats, KLoop pillows, tissue box covers, etc), clearly it sells well. I also read that her LOVE NOTE series are the most popular fragrances produced by a celebrity in Japan. Makes sense, she just celebrated 4th anniversary with a special box and man, LOVE TOUCH body cream smells SO EFFIN' GOOD. I wanna get like 10 more. It sucks I can't import that unisex Eternalux...

Does anyone know the capacity of the halls in Japan where she performing?

We also have to keep in mind that Kuu has stopped releasing and promoting singles the way she used to. Her albums use to have at least 2-3 moderate hits to attract the general public but that ended after Bon Voyage. I hope she'll release singles for the upcoming era, not just to help album sales but also because her single PVs usually have a better budget and keep things exciting in between albums.

The smallest is around 1,000, the biggest around 5,000 people capacity. As she's touring the whole country, there isn't always a choice.

Considering she's selling out tour dates with her FC only, it's pretty safe to say her FC fanbase is a really heathy number.

the songs for the encore are: is this trap?, But and Universe vs. LaLaLaLaLa, poppin love cocktail and wind. The computer choses one each and then it is decided via applause. She only sings like 1/3 of the song though.

I hate think it looked pretty awsome for what it was - a concert screen. The concept is cool and she looks hot but basically some hipster- beautyshots.

I try to write one later. I hate doing it on the phone. I thought it was pretty cool - not her best but a good start for me + she was so close! a lot of talking at the end but overall very neat! i die not get a pullover though which really annoyed me. I was there at 12, 1/12 hours early and it was sold out after the 1/3 of the people waiting for it.

The stage is a little weird this time, with just one floor and it seems there is no live band this time.

The stage looks so basic :/ Was expecting something more playful like the last tour... That mint dress is terrible hahha such weird silhouette! But I really liked the setlist and she looks amazing with the Versace-esque top! Love the hair.

Not loving the stage at all. She looks fantastic though.

Overall the stage seems pretty empty, but the full triangle is a LED screen and it makes the stage looking huge!
Adds to that effect probably.
But nice idea to making it look bigger in halls.
