Thanks a million
You rock I recently discovered Eiko Shimamiya as well Better THIS late then never right? xD |

Thanks! |
So, a new fully I've produced album was released recently. It's the debut album of Ray, a new young singer who's been working with I've for her singles since some time last year. Check out her website if you're interested in finding out more about her and her debut album RAYVE if you're interested in hearing more of her. I'm not the biggest fan of Ray (which might explain why I've neglected reporting about her I've sings 'OTL), but I do kinda recommend her debut - it's not ground-breaking, but there are some really good songs there (Over ride, sign, Hikari, nagi, baby♡macaron and Altair are my favorites).
|
I love the music of Kotoko since years!
|
I might check out that Ray album sometime! Also - I saw on the I've Sound forum that they might be holding auditions to find new singers (since they don't have very many left lol). If that's true, I hope they pick out some good ones!
|
Time to revive this thread with some news! KOTOKO's 6th album has been announced: it's titled Kuchuu Puzzle (空中パズル), will be released on November 20th in two editions (the limited one contains, you guessed it, a DVD with a PV), contains at least unfinished, Light My Fire, Loop-the-Loop, Restart, Sakura no Ame Moegi no yo (the b-side to unfinished) and (self-)cover of RO-KYU-BU's song SHOOT! that KOTOKO wrote lyrics to plus new songs for 14 in total.
I'm not really expecting this album to top Hiraku Uchuu Pocket (I loved that album! Still do), but I'm really excited to hear what KOTOKO's gonna bring this time! It'll be interesting to see if she's still working with I've or if the new album is going to be all new people (except for Restart and Loop-the-Loop). I hope she works with livetune again, livetune makes some amazing songs and Mirai Ressha was a blast! ... And now that I think about it, there's also another album coming out I had completely forgotten about. 'OTL Larval Stage Planning will have their first album, titled LSP, released on November 6th! Album contains all of their three Lantis singles and their b-sides, three "Indies" songs (eroge songs?), new songs called "fire just do it" and "syzygy" and four other new songs - so 15 tracks in all (if I'm reading things correctly)! I'm hoping they also sneak some solo songs there, I need some good solos from Lin and Nami. Let's hope this album will turn out good! I was going to ponder how I've has been so very quiet this year, but LSP's album announcement almost makes my point look a bit moot. :P But don't let it trick you, I've has still done so little this year! Notable releases: Mami's best-of and new single, MELL and Kaori's last albums and now this. Still might look a bit much, but when you consider that most of Mami and MELL's best-ofs was recorded years ago (and I think even the new tracks on MELL's best were done, like, last year or earlier)... what HAS I've been doing this year? I hope they've found some new talent from the auctions MeltingCORE pointed out and are preparing to actually put some stuff out in the future - and not just with Mami, let's get LSP, MAKO and, even though I didn't like their debut on the SHORT CIRCUIT BEST at all, Pixy lab. to do some stuff! I'm missing my new I've fix I need some music. :C |
Can anyone tell me what Eiko has been up to? She was and always will be my favorite I've Girl. She is the one that got me into Kotoko, Mami, and MELL actually.
|
Eiko is also my favorite I've artist! I discovered I've through her Higurashi songs, actually. :D As for her recent activities, let me think back a little...
Ever since leaving I've, she's started her own label (infinity), released two singles (Onkalo and Yellow) and two collaborative mini-albums (5TEARS Vol. 1 & 2) and done some lives. This spring she also launched an official fanclub (Shimamiya Gakuen, open to people all over the world) and recently, she seems to have taken some young singers (MAHO, ASUKA and Erika Tachibana) under her wing - she's frequently tweeting and facebooking about their activities and has written some songs for MAHO, at least. She's going to be at M3 once again this October (Yellow was released at M3 last year!) but I'm not sure yet what's coming up this year... I'm also looking forward to hearing if she's going to be at the winter Comiket this year, the 5TEARS albums were both released there and I'd love some continuation for the series. :love Check her official website (http://www.eiko-shimamiya.com/) for more info! |
Eiko is love :heart I look forward to what she'll bring in the future.
|
Me too! I really need to know what she's doing for M3, hopefully another single.
EDIT: So if I'm reading this tweet right, Eiko is releasing a CD titled JAIKO at M3. If that's true, yay. :D |
So JAIKO is a real thing that's happening! Here's the special site for Eiko & friends' appearance at M3 this year: http://www.2b3pon.com/shimamiya/
No previews for the songs yet, but the titles and credits are available: 1. Boffier ~木を植えた男~ (Boffier ~Ki wo Ueta Otoko~) Composition - Jakob Svanholm Lyrics & Arrangement - Eiko Shimamiya 2. Kite Composition - Jakob Svanholm Lyrics & Arrangement - Eiko Shimamiya Jakob Svanholm is a Swedish producer. I've Sound Forum member Sekka found out that Eiko had tweeted him about wanting to sing his music; this is probably what started this project. Here's the conversation for anyone who's interested. :) Eiko also composed another song, the title track of Erika Tachibana's single 水霊 (みずたま) (Mizutama), which is sold at the same event and table. |
I just recently discovered her and my favorite album of hers is O
|
That's great to hear! Never too late to discover Eiko. ;) Why O, if I may ask?
|
Interested in hearing Eiko's new single(?) and KOTOKO's new album. :)
|
Quote:
Maybe I seem far off in terms of words i am using to explain how i perceive the album but those are the feelings that I got and still do whenever i listen to it Hikari Nadeshiko is also good but it lacks something, it isn't by any means a bad album no,my favorites are Introduction, Hikari Nadeshiko, all alone, ATLANTE, scheherazade, Naraku No Hana, Aoi Kajitsu this almost the entire album ha ha but still "O" has an special place in my heart:love |
Quote:
I pretty much liked the singles that Kotoko released starting with light my fire My fave is Re-Sublimity that song is pure perfection it has everything Kotoko's new album would do just fine because i still need something from I've sound to wash that sour taste MELL's best album left when it was released I still hope that she is going to return to music industry in some form I really miss MELL:( Sorry guys for the double post xD |
So I saw on the I've Sound forum that there's going to be a third volume of 5 Tears? (Thread here: http://z6.invisionfree.com/Ive_Sound...iew=getnewpost)
Was this actually confirmed by Eiko or is the person just making assumptions? It'd be awesome if it's real, the last two volumes were great! PS: Remembered how awesome Reina - Isolation is! Been listening to it a lot lately. |
That post is actually from yours truly. :) As for the question: at this point, it's still kind of unconfirmed. No official announcement has been made about the release; however, a cover art contest was announced on her official site and the name of the album (5TEARS vol 3 ~sweet dragon~) can be seen there and since the contest's deadline is middle of November and considering the release pattern so far, I think it's gonna be released at Comiket once again. So... kind of speculation, but on solid grounds? :P You can check her official site to see the announcement, it's the third news item on the front page. :)
LSP's album is out this week and KOTOKO's is coming in less than two weeks! Exciting times. |
WOW I DERPED IT UP, YOUR NAME IS KACKU ON THERE TO. Please excuse my foolishness, I tend to not be very observant at times. U.U
I get what you mean, it is solid to believe a third volume is coming based on everything that's been released so far (just looked at everything you mentioned). Should be awesome! And I'm excited to hear both but moreso KOTOKO's. Always want more KOTOKO. |
That's okay, one can't always notice everything :D
Eiko mentioned a mini album coming in the winter Comiket in one of her recent Facebook updates! Still no official news, but the evidence keeps piling up. I can't wait to heat what's coming. I'm also more excited to hear KOTOKO's album! I hope it leaks as fast as Hiraku Uchuu Pocket did. :P I haven't remembered to post tracklist and covers and don't have time to do that now, but you may as well see them here. Also, for Eiko Shimamiya fans: this place has almost all of her songs uploaded, including the two new songs from JAIKO and many rarities! Grab them while you can! |
Quote:
|
I agree, the album covers are awesome, some of her best ever!! I haven't listened to any previews for once, I think I'll just save myself for the full album now. :P But great to hear that you like them, I hope the same will happen here. :D I'll definitely post it as soon as I find it! I've been anxious for a link since Sunday, I remember when Hiraku Uchuu Pocket leaked on the Sunday preceding the release and I was hoping the same would happen now. Well, maybe tomorrow...!
|
|
OMG OMG THANK YOU!
|
So what did everyone think? I quite liked it. My favorite songs ended up being My-Les, SHOOT, Fushi-Gino-Ana, Polygon, and Loop-the-Loop. While it was a nice sentiment, I do feel like the English version of unfinished was unnecessary.
|
I liked the album... but if I had to make a KOTOKO albums ranking (which I will proceed to do), it would be pretty low. Some of the new songs on the album were pretty meh (I can't remember a single thing about Fushi-Gino-Ana or Rock☆DE Fruits Basket♪), and all A-side tracks but Light My Fire fell into the same category. Overall, I just found the album very unbalanced, half of the songs being stuff I liked and the rest being stuff I didn't care about. My favorite songs are Light My Fire (awesome!), Damare yo Peter (fun!), SHOOT! (energetic!); I also liked My-Les, the title track, Sakura no Ame Moegi no yo, and, to my own surprise, frozen fir tree (turns out sat can do different sounds!)
The aforementioned album ranking! Where does Kuuchuu Puzzle fall in your opinion? 1. Garasu no Kaze 2. Hiraku Uchuu Pocket 3. UZU-MAKI 4. hane 5. Kuuchuu Puzzle 6. Epsilon no Fune KOTOKO has been pretty quiet since the release of her album (probably because of touring), but I've and Eiko have not! Comiket came and went, Eiko and I've released their stuff; here's what seems to be available from those releases. All the tracks from 5TEARSvol.3 here. Ripped by fierycrimson on I've Sound Forum, all the glory to him! Personally, I didn't like this album very much. :( Sweet Dragon and new song are pretty great, but I have problems with all the other songs. However, I'm waaay in the minority with my opinion: I have literally seen no one else say anything bad about this album, most people are saying it's their favorite 5TEARS release! I've released a lot in Comiket: two mini-albums and a piano instrumental album! I have seen no rips of any of these albums (which is just sad :(), but at least the mini-album songs can be found on Youtube, on this channel! They also have many videos of the I've performances in the Visual Art's anniversary concert uploaded, and I intend to check the hell out of those ASAP. And finally, Mami Kawada is releasing a new single next Wednesday (26.02.2014), and it's already leaked! Break a spell, here you go. I haven't had time to check out this single either, need to do that now. |
Hi everyone! Long time no I've news. There hasn't been much good happening: LSP has disbanded and Nami and Rin have apparently left I've. Now I've basically has only three full-time singers with them (Mami, Airi Kirishima, and the new girl Yuzuno) along with some frequent guests (MAKO, Ray, Maon Kurosaki).
But I'd like to focus on the good news! First off: I've will be celebrating their 15th anniversary with a special concert at Tokyo Dome City Hall. This concert is called "IVE RADICAL ENSENBLE OF 15th ANNIVERSARY". I know it's a long time away, but I wanted to bring this up because who's ready for lots of guest appearances by former I've singers?? I know I am, so I hope they will get Eiko, KOTOKO, Kaorin, and others to participate (I dare not even think about MOMO or SHIHO popping up, that would be the greatest thing but seems kinda wishful thinking...). In other interesting news: I've will be collaborating with Maon Kurosaki for a tribute album to anime Tokyo Ravens. The album is to be released in July, no further info on the matter yet. I'm curious to see how this turns out. Also, something definitely worth checking out: I've recently did a live concert with a wide ensemble of guest performers, including their own singers Mami Kawada, Yuzuno, Airi Kirishima, and C.G. mix, guest collaborators Ray and Maon Kurosaki, former I've diva Eiko Shimamiya, and surprise guest Aoi Eir! It was a great watch, so if you have an hour to kill, I wholeheartedly recommend this! Here come the link and setlist. http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm23421814 Spoiler:
Finally, some Eiko news: she will be at M3 once again, this time with a mini album called Exchange in collaboration with ASUKA, one of her young protégés. All info you might need, and previews and stuff, here: http://eiko-shimamiya.com/m3/ |
KOTOKO news! New single, TOUGH INTENTION, out on July 23rd!
Covers: http://www.whv-amusic.com/kotoko/cor...n_00000011.jpg Regular Edition http://www.whv-amusic.com/kotoko/cor...n_00000010.jpg Limited Edition Credits: Tough Intention (Preview available on KOTOKO's WHV site.) Lyrics - KOTOKO Composition & Arrangement - Miyata Ryou (宮田リョウ) ARCH Lyrics & Composition - KOTOKO Arrangement - Nakazawa Tomoyuki I'm really excited for this single: the covers are fantastic, the title track sounds really good (very Light My Fire-esque, just listen to that chanting!), and a Nakazawa b-side is rarely a bad thing! |
The covers are really nice! Not sure how much I'm liking the new track yet though.
|
I totally miss MELL, SHIHO, and MOMO....and Lia too
I'm sure Eiko will pop up during the anniversary live, which is best, because she will always be my favorite. |
I especially miss MELL, her first album is one of the best albums I´ve ever heard in japanese music :(
|
MELL's "mirage" album is nice! I love the title track!
|
Quote:
I've been listening to it all week. It so fits my mood right now. |

angry? depressed? |

I'm good though. Listening to that album just kind of creates a musical world for darker moods to dwell in and kind of uplifts you in the end. Somehow. It's like having a soundtrack to your life lol |
I've GIRL'S COMPILATION vol. 9 announced! The title is "Evidence nine" and the release date is September 26th, just two months away! No cover or tracklist yet, but I'm sure it won't take too long 'till we get them. (Source)
Also, KOTOKO's new single is out! I like TOUGH INTENTION, the a-side is really good and the b-side isn't bad either (though it's kinda strange). I think it's her most solid single since... SCREW in 2009. It's been a while since I liked both songs on a KOTOKO single this much! EDIT: Well, it really didn't take long with the tracklist! Amazon JP already pretty much revealed the whole thing already, here it is: - WING OF ZERO (KOTOKO) - Reboot oN/↓0 (KOTOKO) - Ashiato ~a Happiness Marker~ (Mami Kawada) - Dual Force (Pixy Lab.) - My Love,Honey. (Nami Maisaki) - soupir d'ange (KOTOKO) - Eternal song (Airi Kirishima) - Timeless time -Album mix- (Mami Kawada) - Love mission!! ~Nanda. Tada no Koi gaw~ (KOTOKO) - Kibou ~NOZOMI Ashita e no Kakehashi~ (Rin Asami) - Steadily (Airi Kirishima) - find a piece (Larval Stage Planning) - Subliminal Agenda -Album mix- (Yuzuno) - New song Three years after KOTOKO "left" I've Sound, and she still has more tracks on the album than anyone else. Ridiculous. I wonder who's gonna sing the new track. Also, something I forgot about yesterday: Maon Kurosaki's new I've produced album REINCARNATION was released earlier this week! Here's one download possibility among many others. I have yet to hear the album myself but I'm relatively excited, she's a nice singer and I liked X-encounter. :) |
Small news: I've 15th anniversary concert will feature appearances by MOMO, SHIHO, KOTOKO, Eiko Shimamiya and Kaori Utatsuki, in addition to I've's current line-up. Now I definitely need a recording of the concert! So many songs I wish to hear. ♡
Also, it's been confirmed that Yuzuno will sing the new title song of the upcoming GIRL's COMPILATION, Evidence nine. :) |
After a month, the new I've GIRL's COMPILATION has finally leaked! Here's where I got it, though it's probably all over the internet by now. :P
Also, some Eiko news: she will collaborate with Kazuya Takase for a new major single, her first since 2009! The single is titled Kurochou no Psychedelica (黒蝶のサイケデリカ), it will feature as the ending theme to a PS Vita game of the same name, the b-side will be survivors note from the latest 5TEARS mini-album, the single will be released on January 28th, 2015! I'm excited to hear the song, it's nice to see Eiko collaborating with I've again. :heart |
Loving this thread! :D
Was reading through the posts and saw someone mentioning that LSP had disbanded. LSP are still active, apparently they are in their second larvae stage (wut o.0) and they originally had plans for changes after the two girls left. Apparently LSP is now only Kirishima, who'll release a single on the 29th of October entitled "Stargazer". |
Kacku, to answer your question from forever ago, my Kotoko album ranking looks like this:
1. Epsilon no Fune 2. Garasu no Kaze 3. Hane 4. UZU-MAKI 5. Kuuchuu Puzzle 6. Hiraku Uchuu Pocket c::: Also, I watched that concert you linked to and it was pretty neat to see I've songs performed by singers different from the originals! Was the 15th anniversary concert posted anywhere? Also, I dig Evidence nine quite a bit. I like it a lot more than the previous compilation with WING OF ZERO, Evidence nine, My Love,Honey., Ashiato ~a Happiness Marker~, Timeless time, and Reboot oN/↓0 being my favorite songs. : )) And can't wait for Eiko's new single! Kurochou no Psychedelica is such a cool title! @denadel-I've seen the Stargazer single floating around but haven't listened to it yet. U_U |

I'm really glad you liked the concert! It's great to see the live side of I've every now and then, and I found the concert an excellent showcase of both the strength of their back catalogue and the abilities of their newer singers and guest vocalists. :) The 15th anniversary concert won't be held until March, so there's a lull in news on that front for now, but here's looking forward to it! I didn't like the newest compilation album as much as you did, unfortunately. :( The best moments didn't reach as high as songs like Light colors and piece of my heart on the previous compilation, and literally all the songs from the LSP girls left me underwhelmed. However, I do agree with you about the album's strong points: Mami's both songs were really nice, KOTOKO's songs were good as usual, and Yuzuno was in good form. Also, can't wait for Eiko's new single either! I'm really eager to hear some previews, the title seems to promise a cool, dark song. Speaking of singles, KOTOKO released a new one this week, and I just noticed it's leaked! I've completely forgotten about ZoNE-iT in the middle of these busy times, but I'm excited to check it out when I can! Also, some more small I've related things: - I re-listened to Maon Kurosaki's I've-produced album REINCARNATION today and realized that Dysnomia is probably the best I've song of the year. It's dark, it's trancy and rock-y, and Maon's performance is really good. If you haven't listened to the album yet, definitely do so asap, I'm pretty sure you won't regret it! - Not sure if this has been discussed here, but I've released another collaboration single, Kisetsu no Shuttle/point at infinity with Ray & yanaginagi, this autumn, and it was also awesome! If you liked Ray's sign and nagi's I've song, Vidro Moyou, you will also like these songs: they're laid on similar foundation and sound familiar, but still stand clearly apart from the previous two songs, and are both really good. Dysnomia might be my favourite I've song of the year, but point at infinity is also up there in the competition! If anyone is interested in these, I'll gladly provide links. :) - I wonder if I've/Eiko will attend Comiket this year. There's been no word yet, but they've both been regulars for a few years in a row already, I will be surprised if they break the combo now. I really need a new 5TEARS album in my life though I've even come to like the slightly lackluster vol. 3 over the year! |
^Thanks for all the news and tidbits :) Will be sure to check out Maon's song you recommend.
Quote:
|
^Can't help but agree with you there. :| Airi's voice sounded different, but that was the only surprising thing about the single, both songs were super forgettable.
|
Ok, I think this thread has been neglected long enough, lol.
I've had their 15th anniversary concert! Lots of performers, lots of songs, I imagine it was a lot of fun. Because I'm lazy, I'm not even gonna copy-paste the setlist but instead just direct everyone to this fabulous blog that everyone needs to be a fan of. I want the new version of See You ~Chiisana Eien~ in my life. :C Other than that, it's really quiet on the I've news front. Mami has a new tie-up for a summer anime, but that's all we know now. There are some new eroge songs coming up, but who even knows when they're gonna show up. KOTOKO released a music video collection containing a new video for Oboetete Ii yo and ended her long anniversary recently, good for her! Eiko is gonna be at M3 again, this time producing two singles for some of the girls from her army of young songstresses and a trance remix/cover album えこトラ8 -Eiko Shimamiya NONSTOP TRANCE- with her and the aforementioned army of girls with pretty voices singing trancy takes of a selection of her old songs, and I am SO PRESSED cause I'm loving the preview for this thing and of course it's being sold at this tiny indie event and will never show up anywhere ugh. Also, I still haven't found a download for her new single released in January?? What is wrong with the internet. Anyway, check Eiko's newest project out here. |
Mami news! She is releasing a new single AND an album soon (and dear lord is it about time already)!
http://nbcuni-music.com/mami_kawada/...jpg?1437018422 Gardens out on August 5th 1. Gardens Lyrics: Mami Composition/Arrangement: Kazuya Takase 2. ∃UTOPIA? Lyrics: Mami Composition: Takeshi Ozaki Arrangement: Takeshi Ozaki, Tomoyuki Nakazawa 3. Gardens (instrumental) 4. ∃UTOPIA?(instrumental) Check out previews for both new songs on her official website. I'm pretty excited for this single. The title track might be some very basic Takase fluff, but I've just missed Mami's voice and it's great to hear her again. The b-side is giving me intersection vibes and I can't wait to hear the rest. And then there's the upcoming album! Title PARABLEPSIA, release date September 16th. The tracklist has also been (partially) revealed. 1. parablepsia (Composition - Takase Kazuya) 2. Borderland 3. (Title Unknown) (Composition - HARD STUFF) 4. Enchantress (Composition - C.G mix) 5. Eager Eyes (Composition - Nakazawa Tomoyuki) 6. (Title Unknown) (Composition - Iuchi Maiko) 7. fly blind (Composition - Ozaki Takeshi) 8. here. (Composition - Nakazawa Tomoyuki) 9. HOWL (Composition - Takase Kazuya) 10. It's no big deal (Composition - Iuchi Maiko) 11. Replica_nt (Composition - Takase Kazuya) 12. Break a spell 13. Dendritic Quartz (Composition - Nakazawa Tomoyuki) 11 new songs yeeesss! I could do without Break a spell though... Now I'm just waiting for the previews. |
Ohh, very exciting! Thanks for the update :)
|
Nice, a new Mami Kawada release - or two... Haven't been really keeping track of her since I've been occupied with other J-pop musicians - and the limiting factor of my iPhone storage...
|
Album cover revealed!
http://cdn2.natalie.mu/media/1508/08...LEPSIA_jkt.jpg I think this one has a bit too much going on to be really effective, but it's still a nice cover, and Mami's looking really cool! I don't think she'll ever top SQUARE THE CIRCLE though. I'm such a stan for that cover and album. :P Also, the tracklist has been finalised! 01. Parablepsia [Composition & Arrangement: Kazuya Takase] 02. Borderland [Composition: Tomoyuki Nakazawa / Arrangement: TakaNakaZaki] 03. I...civilization [Composition: Kazuya Takase / Arrangement: HARD STUFF] 04. fly blind [Composition & Arrangement: Takeshi Ozaki] 05. Eager Eyes [Composition: Tomoyuki Nakawaza / Arrangement: Tomoyuki Nakazawa & Takeshi Ozaki] 06. PIST [Composition & Arrangement: Maiko Iuchi] 07. Enchantress [Composition: C.G. Mix / Arrangement: C.G. Mix & Takeshi Ozaki] 08. here. [Composition: Tomoyuki Nakawaza / Arrangement: Tomoyuki Nakazawa & Takeshi Ozaki] 09. HOWL [Composition & Arrangement: Kazuya Takase] 10. Replica_nt [Composition & Arrangement: Kazuya Takase] 11. It's no big deal [Composition & Arrangement: Maiko Iuchi] 12. Break a spell [Composition: Takeshi Ozaki / Arrangement: Takeshi Ozaki & Tomoyuki Nakazawa] 13. Dendritic Quartz [Composition & Arrangement: Tomoyuki Nakazawa] There's a lot of Takase, surprisingly. He rarely has too many songs on Mami's albums. Also, I know I shouldn't have any detailed expectations 'cause I WILL be disappointed, but all I want is for Eager Eyes to be the new my buddy / Fascination. It's got the right credits, it's got the title. I've, make it happen. :spazzed By the way, I've been thinking about uploading Mami's discography here. I don't quite have pretty much EVERYTHING like with Eiko, but I do have A LOT, including maybe some rare tracks many people don't have. Would anyone be interested? |
The kindest of souls, tenshi1226 on I've Sound Forum, has let the world know that the two most recent I've Comiket releases, I've MANIA Tracks NEW WAVE and I've Piano Pieces - Monochrome Solitude Vol. 2, are available for listening and downloading, and I'm here to spread the word!
NEW WAVE has three new (guest?) vocalists Minori Kitamura, marriage blue, and RINA, delivering one cover of an OLD I've classic and five new songs! Based on one quick listen, I like this one quite a lot. It's very much of the usual I've sound, but the songs are lovely, and I think there were one or two stand-outs. Time will tell how much they really stand out, but I think it's worth a try for everyone! I've Piano Pieces is exactly what it says on the cover, so decide for yourself if you're interested in hearing piano-only versions of these songs. :P I'm listening to the album right now and liking it, so relaxing. Close to me... was a special stand-out, its signature piano riff really got to shine here. |
Kaori Utatsuki news! She released a new song called A STARRY NIGHT ~Bokura wo Tsunagu Hikari~ via iTunes and other download services this past week. It's a really pretty midtempo pop song and easily available everywhere in the world, so go check it out and show Kaori some love if you like it! :)
|
Previews for Mami's new album are here! Sounds like we're in for many dark and heavy songs.
|
Wow, I really liked a majority of the previews. I love that it is darker and heavier music. That is my favorite style from any I've girl.
|
PARABLEPSIA is coming in two days! GET HYPE!
To help you find your hype, maybe check out this video with songs from the new album mixed together by DJ D-YAMA? :P Also, you might be interested in reading the summary-translation of this interview done by Treize on I've Sound Forum. It's not very long, but still very fascinating and insightful! Quote:

Holy potatoes, I haven't checked on I've in forever and there's so much new stuff! Has that non-stop Eiko Shimamiya Trance album leaked anywhere? And thanks for providing links to the Comiket releases. I really appreciate that. I want to get Mami's new album (previews sound nice) but I'm still saving up money for her best of album haha. x__x
|
PARABLEPSIA is good.
My favorites are : Break a spell , PARABLEPSIA , eager eyes , PIST , I ... civilization I recently discovered portamento and that song pushed me to further explore Mami's discography. @MeltingCORE Eiko Shimamiya has a non-stop TRANCE album??? WHERE , WHERE!!! |

I also found PARABLEPSIA good (and so cohesive, wow)! It didn't beat out SQUARE THE CIRCLE for my favourite Mami album, but it's good. :) My favourite songs include It's no big deal (:heart), PIST, Eager Eyes, parablepsia, and Replica_nt. |
Kacku portamento is PHUCKING EVERYTHING!!! :love
I fell in love with it at first listen.:luv2 The song has such mysterious and haunting atmosphere it's absolutely perfect. I was so obsessed with it that I neglected whole SAVIA album because of portamento:D I still need to pick up the rest of Mami's disco but i am taking it slowly. I didn't have any knowledge or to be honest interest in Mami Kawada before although i love that song where I'VE tried to form a group LOVE PLANET FIVE - Tenjou wo Kakeru Monotachi and all five of I'VE major act's appeared together:D. Again,to be honest that was the time when I started to follow MELL And i hope that she will stick around longer then MELL did , but i think that she is doing rather good. |
OH YES IT IS!!! :heart:heart:heart I admit it wasn't a case of love at first listen with me, but when it hit me, it hit me like a bullet train. Yes, the atmosphere of the song is so perfect! And so perfectly crafted, it astounds me. And Mami's voice just oozes ALL THE FEELINGS, this song is so perfect for her and she brings out so much beauty in it! Ugh, it's just such a perfect song.
Ah, I love Tenjou wo Kakeru Monotachi too! I've always makes such good songs when all their singers combine their forces, and Tenjou was no exception. :) I don't think we've seen the last of Mami, she's the biggest name I've has right now. She's also been making eroge songs at a steady pace, and she has a PSP game theme song lined up for release some time this year! |
Since we have an I've expert among us, I would like to ask a question! :)
Many, many years ago (like in 2005) when I was in college, I downloaded an album called I've CURE TRANCE Vol.1 - Psychedelic. I LOVED it and I still listen to it every now and again and still immensely enjoy it. Now, I'm guessing that because this was "Vol.1" that they made other volumes? If so, what did they make and where can I obtain the tracks? Thanks so much! :heart |
I'm sorry to say I know very little about the CURE TRANCE series, I've always been more interested in vocal music from I've. :/ However, I do know that there are two more volumes: Vol. 2 - Psychedelic Goa and Vol. 3 - Psychedelic IBIZA. As for availability, not too sure. You might be able to find some links by searching, or maybe try asking someone on e.g. the I've Sound Forum, I'm pretty sure someone over there might be able to help. Vol. 1 and 3 seem to be available on Amazon JP, too. I'm gonna look into it more when I have some time on my hands, you've got me interested. :)
(Btw, would you maybe like to share the first volume? I have never heard a single track from it and I'd really love to try it now!) |
Exciting news! I've will release a Girls Compilation in January, called The Time ~12 Colors~, with all new songs. Source

I'm sorry to revive this thread with terrible news, but here goes... :(
Mami Kawada is retiring from music. She announced the news at LisAni Live on January 24th, along with the announcement that she will be holding a final concert, titled MAMI KAWADA FINAL F∀N FESTIVAL "F", on May 21st. She also released her final single Contrail ~Kiseki~ this week, and commented in an announcement on BARKS that "she believes that this single is appropriate to be her last single because Contrail has both a refreshing and positive sound. She says that she was able to put her last message into the lyrics of both these songs. Her message combines both "sky" (Contrail) and "future" (Halfway). She hopes that everyone's future lies up in the sky." (Translation by Treize at I've Sound Forum) I hope there will still be some release celebrating Mami's awesome career and discography before she is gone for real, she deserves that much. Ugh. She was my second favourite I've singer, so I'm just... https://49.media.tumblr.com/ffc2c302...7du1o1_500.gif |
Too bad
Parablepsia is an awesome album and i was hoping that Mami will stay longer on the music scene but whatever. I am still holding on to Eiko Shimamiya even though she is not under I'VE as well |
That's sad to hear. Mami Kawada saying goodbye. :(
Why is Mami Kawada retiring from music? |
^ As far as I know, she (or any of the I've producers) hasn't given any specific statements in blog entries or interviews. If she has, no one has probably gotten their hands on those to get translations yet. Knowing how things went with MELL, and given that we're dealing with the music industry, we might never hear any specific reasons.
|
I certainly hope it's not some illness or any sort of the matter but even though MELL retired for health reasons it was just sort of like out of the blue or at least that's how I saw it. And I am still pissed how I'VE handled MELL's farewell release
|
Well that sucks. Mami's albums were some of my favorites out of all of the girls.
|
Quote:
But yeah, MELL's case was even worse. She just disappeared after her album in 2010 and never came back, and then the lackluster best-of was released... Totally understandable to be pissed. While I really want one more best album from Mami to celebrate her awesomeness, I fear that it might turn out like MELL or KOTOKO's best-ofs, which, please no. Quote:

|
Compilation is really good
And that disc 4 is all new material right? Lythrum is life<3 |
^
No, Disc 4's track are from different compilations, except for Unknown which is now as well as Façade from disc 3 1. Lythrum (I've MANIA Tracks Vol. 1; 2003) 2. CARPE DIEM (Couldn't find a direct place it's from, but it's from 2006) 3. The Maze (I've MANIA Tracks Vol. 2; 2006) 4. seduce (Shakkin Shimai; 2007) 5. return to the place (Soshite Asu no Sekai Yori OST; 2007) 6. Thankful ~Kiseki no Ashite e~ (Nanatsu no Fushigi no Owaru Toki OST; 2011) |
Thanks for clearing that up.
At least IVE sound actually succeeded in sending Mami off appropriately. I know that I sound like broken record considering how many times I have mentioned MELL's name in this thread but they really failed in terms of how they handled MELL's best of release. I know that MELL's songs are also scatered on different releases and OST's but was that really such a trouble to compile them like they did with Mami's songs? Thanks to Kacku he was kind enough to make a DL thread with MELL's songs I was able to listen some of MELL's works out of her own albums such as various I'VE mania and other OST's. Tragic indeed. I think that they also fumbled Eiko's best of as well. So many songs that deserved to be on that album aren't. What was the process of creating that tracklist like? Were they considering fan-favorites or her older songs? Oh well better something then nothing |
Quote:
And to add to the old conversation: I agree with axmish87 above that Mami had an appropriate send-off, with a big farewell concert and a best-of that contained many of her best songs and was really worth buying. Some news: I've singers Yuzuno and Rina have released their first solo singles. Here are previews for the releases: I've is releasing the tenth GIRL's COMPILATION album, ALIVE, on July 28th. Here's the announcement with a tentative tracklist, I won't bother posting the tracklist here until it's finalised. I've produced two new songs for Ray's final best album, Happy days, which she recently released before retiring from music. The new songs are ♡こゆび姫♡ (Koyubi Hime) and マリンスノー (Marine Snow). You can download the album here, for example. In more loosely I've-related news: seiyuu-singer Yoshino Nanjo is releasing her third solo album on July 26th, and it features two songs with composition and lyrics from Mami Kawada and one song with lyrics from KOTOKO, and three songs on the album are arranged by Maiko Iuchi. KOTOKO and Maiko working with other singers is nothing new, but I believe this is the first time Mami has composed for other singers. I wonder if it also means she continues to work in songwriting even after retiring from her singing career. And finally, the news I'm most excited about: Eiko Shimamiya produced and released another mini-album this spring, but this time it wasn't completely limited to being released at M3! The album, Eko Parfait, the newest entry in the Eko series that started with Eko Tora in 2015, is available on Melon Books, and also available for us foreign fans via proxy shopping services! I bought the album and received it yesterday, and I love it. :luv2 I posted a download link in the Eiko Shimamiya discography thread, please check it out and enjoy! I LOVE Eiko's songs Anunnaki and Tanjou, and from the songs sung by the other singers featured, I love Individual the most. But for me, the absolute hightlight of the album is Chikyuu. It gave me chills and tears from the first time I heard it. And the song is actually a cover, and Eiko's version was produced by Takeshi Saitou, the writer and original singer of the song! The original version is also wonderful, so please check it out (here's a preview of the studio version and here's a performance of the full song in an acoustic version)! |
Here's your late reminder that the latest I've GIRL's COMPILATION album has been released! The album has been uploaded in many places on the internet (example 1, example 2), so go download and listen! And here are the covers and the finalised tracklist, just because I like to be thorough sometimes:
Spoiler:
I'm really impressed with all the new tracks made specially for this album: RINA sounds really good on Hierarchie, and she really elevates what is otherwise just another generic C.G mix song (seriously, when was the last time C.G mix produced anything worthy of anyone's time...); IKU brings the DRAMA on the title track, hits it out of the park with her singing, and definitively proves that she can do darker songs; but my favourite is easily Forever no End, which features a beautiful melody, a soaring, intensely catchy chorus, a perfect Tomoyuki Nakazawa pop production I just cannot get enough of, and a beautiful vocal performance by Riho, whom I really hope to see more of on future I've works. And honestly, I hope to see all three of these singers (and marriage blue, who does a lovely cover of Utsukushiku Ikitai on the limited CD) more, they really impressed me here and give me hope that I've will still be able to produce rewarding music even in their current, confusing, member-depleted state. As for the other songs: I really loved Aim ~we can do all to be fine~ and Wings of Courage -Sora wo Koete-, and found a bunch of the other songs nice, but this is not gonna go down as one of my favourite I've compilations. On the bonus disc with all the 2017 versions, I only really loved Utsukushiku Ikitai, and unfortunately thought all the other songs had some problems that kept them from being very remarkable (Around the mind sounds generic, and honestly the cheesy, outdated original version is better; Imaginary Affair either now has acoustic strings or the volume on the strings has just been turned way up, and it contributes nothing; INITIATIVE's arrangement has a dark undercurrent which doesn't suit the song AT ALL; Kiss the Future was never a good song in the first place, but this version might actually be better than the original; Bizarrerie Cage is good, I guess). --- And an even later notice: I've released a collaboration album with Key Sounds Label at the last winter Comiket, with I've singers covering Key classics and Key singers covering I've songs. You can download the album here, and, as discovered by MeltingCORE on I've Sound Forum, it's also available on iTunes! I heartily recommend checking the album out for three tracks in particular: RINA's version of Last regrets (RINA gives an awesome vocal performance, and Tomoyuki Nakazawa updates the song with a very modern arrangement that even features a pop drop that I actually like!), Airi Kirishima's take on Saya's song (NAMI turns the plodding ballad into a sorrowful dancefloor anthem, and it's amazing), and Lily on the FIeLD's (a.k.a. Riho's) cover of Aozora (the arrangement is honestly a bit dull, but Riho's voice is everything). Spoiler:
|
Oh wow, that I've x Key collab album sounds amazing! Thank you so much for posting it, I can't wait to listen to it :) I had no idea it existed haha
|
Thank you for these updates especially sincw I don't keep track at all lol. And I was really excited about the 2017 version of Around the Mind as it is one of my favorite songs until you said it wasn't that good lol. Oh well. I'll still listen and look forward to checking out the rest of the comp.

KOTOKO hoping for some new music from her soon, I miss my girl ^^
some of my favorite songs by her.. |
New KOTOKO album coming! The album is titled tears cyclone -廻- (tears cyclone -Kai-), it will be produced by Kazuya Takase of I've (!!), and the release date is June 27th. It will have 12 songs, 10 of them new, and so far we know that the tracklist includes Sign of Suspicion (also on the latest I've GIRL's Compilation) and a cover/self-cover of a-gain by Ray, a song KOTOKO wrote lyrics for. The first press (I think...) comes with a bonus CD containing sign –KOTOKO Ver.- (Tomoyuki Nakazawa Re-mix), another cover/self-cover of a Ray song.
First preview for the album, a song called 廻-Ro-tation (Kai-Ro-tation): I really like the preview! I hope KOTOKO and I've cook up something great. --- Eiko Shimamiya will release a thing at M3 this year as well! This year the thing is called Quadrifoglio, it's a mini-album made in collaboration with singers SHIHO and Kanako Ito and music producer Makou (who also worked on Eko Parfait). Preview video of the mini-album: Quadrifoglio is already listed on Melonbooks, so it should be available for purchase like Eko Parfait! |
I can't wait to listen to KOTOKO's new album! <3 I'm ordering it soon. And I love the cover and title!
Edit: Kakcu, would you happen to have Marriage Blue's EP "§-section-"? |

I can't believe it's been six years since her last ordinary single! I also can't believe The Bible boxset became her highest-charting album! I really thought Glass no Kaze had peaked in the top 5, but no... The upcoming anime compilation has some songs I can't remember having ever heard before, I'm curious to hear them.
