Thank God. WTF was with Wind It Up and Sweet Escape? The album actually had some decent tracks that didn't sound messy. Finally she's releasing one.

Halla 21st April 2007 12:05 PM

"4 in the morning" is my fave off the album too. The PV is nice, I was expecting something more stylish like the "Sweet Escape" PV tho.

Miku 12th December 2007 02:42 PM

I really love her new video "Early Winter"
:yes

I'm actually pretty disappointed with it. It's one of my favorite songs on the album, and when I saw her on tour, the set displayed a scene from Memoirs of a Geisha (or what was a blatant ripoff of it) where Sayuri was on strange with fake snow in her kimono. It was beautiful and I thought the video might include something like that, but I found it to be pretty boring for such a beautiful song.

Kobayashiwoof 13th December 2007 12:36 AM

OMFG RELEASE YUMMY ALREADY!! Gwen needs to make a hot cooking-chef theme MV for it lol :P

Nihonjin_Berryz 9th January 2008 03:07 AM

Oh God yes. She releasing all the wrong singles!
No wonder her career's flopping right now.
She needs to go back to No Doubt for an album...
and then comeback with an album even better than "L.A.M.B.".

:yes

criminal 13th January 2008 06:22 PM

UGH. Love. Angel. Music. Baby. defined 6th grade, but I can't say that The Sweet Escape comes anywhere close to defining anything. x_x
PLZ GET IT 2GETHR, GWN.

Kobayashiwoof 14th January 2008 02:54 AM

Love Angel Music Baby was the album that made me into music again. It was an awesome album. The sweet escape had great tracks, but they seemed very mono and eh~

Her only great single choices were TSE, 4am, and Wind It Up i guess. I loved it becuase it was very gwen haha :P

Ayumi_Hamasaki902 14th January 2008 03:38 AM

Gwen is probably one of my fav american pop artists since I'm into Rock bands mostly from the US, she's one of my fav solo artists. I haven't liked much of her songs since she's gone solo except "What'cha waiting for?" I hope when she get's back with No Doubt, things will be better for her and she'll release some good new songs.

~juJu~ 14th January 2008 03:22 PM

I hope she hurries up and releases Sweet Escape tour dvd already~~
I loved seeing that concert live !!

Foxxy_Fuyumi 14th January 2008 03:25 PM

Harajuku Lover's came almost a year after that tours completion so I wouldn't hold my breath for an immediate release :irked

LMAO, I'm kind of hoping the DVD will be taken from some non Akon being there show's. I don't like the thought of buying a DVD with him in it :laugh He annoys me.

Has anyone else heard any bootleg show's from the tour yet? In love with Don't Get It Twisted/Breakin' Up medley :love

cosmeticmusic 21st August 2008 03:43 AM

OKay, everybody. I've recently become recently obsessed helplessly (shamelessly) with Ms. Stefani and her hot music. SO I guess I'm reviving this thread.

First order of business: talk about No Doubt's upcoming album and the future of Gwen!

........................

Since Gwen has transformed her sound into a dance pop groove pf rythmic beats and intricate, Pharrell - produced melodies, what will No Doubt sound like now? Will they go back to their old ska / new wave sound? Or will they expand upon their dancehall / pop sound found in Rock Steady? Or will it be completely different? Let's discuss!

bondingo 21st August 2008 04:03 AM

I think they're going to do something completely different. I think it will be similar to how a bunch of the tracks on Rock Steady (i.e. Hey Baby and Underneath It All) were big changes from their previous material. I'm very excited to see how this next album turns out.

cosmeticmusic 21st August 2008 04:20 AM

Me too. I have a nostalgic fondness for their Tragic Kingdom material, but I agree. Something different would be very nice. Hey Baby is great, and...I dunno, I really like Hella Good's sound. :3
.................................

milky_way 21st August 2008 04:22 AM

I would be so happy if they made another album like Rock Steady.

CHE.R.RY 21st August 2008 05:32 AM

Omg Gwennie :heart!!! I've loved her ever since I first heard 'I'm just a Girl' (even though that was when she was with ND, which I love also!) :yes. God, I miss her so much! I really wanna buy her LAMB merchandise, but I need moolah :dead2. Eh anyways, I'm really wanting a new album already. I've listened to Sweet Escape like 500x already lol.

prussian blue 21st August 2008 05:51 AM

i know her from her solo era.,. i went to her sweet escape tour last year, although i'm not her hardcore^^ i notice there's a group caled no doubt in 90s, but didnt realize gwen was the vocal for the group!

Re:★ 21st August 2008 09:58 PM

If No Doubt release anything at all I'll be over the moon, Rock Steady is ozzm. :yes

Rainbow141 21st August 2008 10:23 PM

I have been a fan since No Doubt released their Singles album back in 2003. Out of her first solo album, her second solo album, and No Doubt's work, I think I like her first solo album the best.

I'm not a huge fan of hers, but I do like her music. I actually almost went to see her when she was touring for her first album a few years ago.

Favorite Gwen songs: Hollaback Girl, Wind it Up
Favorite No Doubt songs: Hella Good, Simple Kind of Life

No_Doubt 22nd August 2008 01:45 AM

I'm super excited for the next No Doubt album as well (as my user name would indicate). L.A.M.B., Rock Steady, and of course Tragic Kingdom are all classics, but my fave No Doubt album is probably Beacon Street Collection or Return of Saturn, and I personally prefer her sophmore solo album over her debut.

And congrats to Gwen and Gavin on the birth of their second son, Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale!

CHE.R.RY 22nd August 2008 02:25 AM

^ You know, I was meaning to ask you about your username and just never got around to it lol, but now I know. Anyways, I hope that ND releases something like their old stuff. I like the neat pop sort of dancish stuff, but I miss their old punky style. Afterall, that's what drew me into ND :).

No_Doubt 22nd August 2008 02:58 AM

^As much as I love their newer stuff, I have a soft spot for their old ska sound too. I remember way back in the day, like pre-Tragic Kindgom, when they weren`t the poster child for bubblegum bands, I was introduced to No Doubt, so it brings me back to my childhood, hehe. When I was like 3, I found their self-titled debut album under my nannies birth-control pills, and I picked both items up and showed her. Anywho, she was like freaking out, and tried to distract me from her mysterious pills by playing the CD, and that was when I fell in love with No Doubt.

aloopy 30th August 2008 02:50 AM

been a fan of her since tragic kingdom~ i prefer her with the guys but here solo stuff is pretty trippy too. can't wait till the next no doubt album~!! i'm so excited

aloopy 2nd September 2008 10:07 PM
