preview of the "Disturbia" video is on iTunes.

No_Doubt 22nd July 2008 03:50 AM

Full video.

bondingo 22nd July 2008 05:40 AM

Incredible video. I'm extremely satisfied with it. Rihanna looked amazing with the spider outfit and the tarantulas. I just loved how they made the video creepy, just as the lyrics seem to depict.

jknza2664 22nd July 2008 05:42 AM

YES!
Rihanna is improving at an exponential rate.

stickyrice 22nd July 2008 08:43 AM

That video was just amazing =O Like... I don't even know what else to say. I loved it!

Ayumi27 22nd July 2008 06:29 PM

I like Rihanna's music but this video it's a bit boring for me... I mean, she copied lot's of videos to make this one... I was expecting sth original for Disturbia

Kaiouforever 22nd July 2008 10:06 PM

Wow. O_O That was absolutely amazing!

I'm so glad she did something different, it really shows her growth as an artist ~

would you care to explain what videos the director of this video (cause she's not directing it) copied???

I can't recall any video in the last two years similar to this amazing masterpiece ...

I LOVE THIS VIDEO AND THE SONG TO DEATH

Yeah, I was wondering that too. I don't think I've ever seen a video like it. Who exactly did the director copy?

Vinylfantasy 31st July 2008 12:35 AM

The video reminds me a lot of an Ayu video mixed in with Steven Klein's X-STaTIC PRO=CeSS exhibition footage.

Partino 31st July 2008 02:39 AM

don't you se madge in everybody ... lol ...

hmm come to think of it

the whole bed scene was used before by britney ... me against the music ...

but still ... the video is very original and the idea is great ... now RiRi has a dark side too.. :roflmao

Ayumi27 31st July 2008 05:06 AM

Well, there were a lot of elements of previous videos by Madonna, Janet Jackson and other artists, so i find it like a compilation of many other things done before... I love the song but that's my opinion and sorry if it bothers you

it doesn't bother me at all and I'm sorry if it looked like I was pissed... I was just curious, that's all ...

Vinylfantasy 31st July 2008 05:29 AM

Whether she was paying homage to others or not, I think it's a wonderful video. As they say, there really isn't anything new anymore, only rehashing what's already been done.

sibby 31st July 2008 10:23 AM

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE VIDEO :D

its like so good. AND ITS SO. *speechless*

*DISTURBIA*

Spoiler:

and the best part is that i look a bit like her. MUAHAHHA

Kaiouforever 1st August 2008 04:14 AM

I dunno, the video didn't really remind me too strongly of anything; either she was inspired by so many sources that together it looks fresh, or it just doesn't seem that similar. Either way, I thought the video was brilliant, and it's nice to see she can do something in this style, and not just all one type.

Partino 1st August 2008 04:30 AM

exactly .. I'd love to see her doin some rock ..
she's totally rocking the rock style

dddaiyamondo 4th August 2008 02:06 AM

Reviewed Disturbia and its PV at my blog. Please read and comment ;)

ImpactBreaker 5th August 2008 02:49 PM

ahah I always get so late into everything..I guess in the case of Rihanna it was a good thing, because I actually bought her RELOADED album :D

I'm probably really late saying this, but I find it really cool how "Don't Stop The Music" samples in one of Michael Jackson's older (and pretty cool) song. Even though I had listened to Don't Stop The Music a zillion times on the radio/gym/everywhere, I barely paid attention to that part, but when listening to the CD, it really caught my attention. At first I was sure I had heard the "Ma Ma Se, Ma Ma Sa, Ma Ma Coo Sa, Ma Ma Se, Ma Ma Sa, Ma Ma Coo Sa" somewhere before but couldn't quite figure where it was from even though I was sure I had heard it before, but now while I was listening to the legendary Thriller album (the 25th anniversary edition) I could realize where it was from :D

criminal 5th August 2008 03:41 PM

OMG. In the US, Disturbia goes 15->4, while Take A Bow is #2 for the fourth week in a row! I'm so glad. She's almost channeling Mariah! <3 I would go crazy if she had the top 2 spots. :|

U-GO-BOY 5th August 2008 04:07 PM

I don't know why but somehow the video reminds me of The Rocky Horror Picture Show xD"

dddaiyamondo 5th August 2008 04:41 PM

^I don't think Katy Perry is gonna let either song into the top spot, as much as I hate "I Kissed A Girl."

criminal 16th August 2008 09:22 AM

OMGOMGOMG.

HOT 100:
1 3 Rihanna - Disturbia
[...]
4 4 Rihanna - Take A Bow

This is Rihanna's fourth #1 single! She's now tied with BEYSUS and MARIAH for the most #1 singles for the MILLENIUM.

I'M SOSOSO GLAD. OMG. x_____x

Partino 16th August 2008 04:27 PM

and she deserved to be there again ...
it's awesome what she pulled of with this .. just a shame that there is no
"Video-Clip-Compilation" of Rihanna ... that would really boost sales of GGGB

criminal 16th August 2008 05:10 PM

9 RIHANNA GOOD GIRL GONE BAD 43,865 28 34,290 1,594,437

Ugh, it's really annoying that she's had so many huge hits, yet her album is still only at 1.6 million. But at least she's huge with singles..

And if anyone cares, updates from airplay + sales. [this week comes first]

AIRPLAY.
01 01 01 RIHANNA - TAKE A BOW 18
24 37 41 RIHANNA - DISTURBIA 6

DIGITAL SONGS.
01 01 02 RIHANNA - DISTURBIA 148,102 / 913,941
22 17 12 RIHANNA - TAKE A BOW 47,936 / 1,559,319
47 57 51 RIHANNA - DON'T STOP THE MUSIC 26,029 / 2,228,785

Northerner 17th August 2008 03:26 AM

I really, really love "Disturbia." I think it's my favorite out of all her songs now, even more than "Umbrella."

I seriously have to pick up her album sometime soon. I don't know why I haven't yet, seeing as I've loved every one of the singles.

Vinylfantasy 10th September 2008 10:23 AM

What a dream!

She better work! Why wasn't THIS at the VMA's?!

ImpactBreaker 10th September 2008 11:00 AM

....yet another ***** single coming from GGGB. Someone please destory her.....okay, well at least stop her. Srsly, she is so lazy now...just like her performances. No one is into Umbrellla anymore Rihanna. No one is into Don't Stop The Music anymore Rihanna. No one is into Shut Up and Drive anymore Rihanna. Take a Bow is so old now Rihanna. Disturbia is annoying as hell as well as the PV Rihanna. Please get that through your thick cranium and come out with new material. Thank you! :rolleyes

Gawd, people are going to hate her more that this song is finna get huge airplays. Breakin' Dishes is okay for a non-single song but as a single song/airplay song....OMG! Fail!

HAHAHA!

The only "acceptable" thing about this for me is the fact that I have never heard "Breakin' Dishes" and when the album first came out, I heard some good things about it. So that's all really. Not that I'm expecting much if I do ever come across it on the radio. Not that I really even listen to the radio anymore.

You're blaming Rihanna because her management wants to release another single off the album why? And what's the point of you criticizing Disturbia when your argument was based on the fact that they keep releasing old material as singles? It may not have been for a new album, but both Take A Bow and Disturbia were these things called "new" songs.

I don't like the fact that Breakin' Dishes is being released as a single when new material should be coming out, but it isn't Rihanna herself who is to blame.

MemorialAddress 12th September 2008 04:12 AM

I love Breakin Dishes, but its uneccessary to release it as a single.
Oh, and...how rude to criticize Disturbia, I just happen to love that song :P ;) lol

Kaiouforever 12th September 2008 08:27 AM

Breakin' Dishes should have been a single a LONG time ago...since it's one of the best tracks on the album. <3

Because she was the one who decided to rerelease GGGB:reloaded and fund the vidoes off the it and as well, decided on what singles should be released...not her management company. :rolleyes

My point:

Take a Bow: April 15, 2008
GGGB:reloaded: June 2, 2008
Disturbia : July 22, 2008

They were released during the beginning of spring/summertime. It's almost fall and yet she's promoting an almost 2 year old song. New material please! :rolleyes

You don't know that at all. You're just basing that off of what the other thread said. I haven't heard absolutely anything about that situation with the $20,000 and Rihanna funding her own projects besides what was in that thread and gossip sites, so it has no basis in reality unless it can be proven. It's highly unlikely and I feel foolish for even believing it at one point in time.

I found the link for downloading at KMC

Partino 14th September 2008 01:39 PM

I think it's just a fanmade album ... with all her collaborations and b-sides and whatever

As for "BD": I love the song but it's really not necessary to make every song on "GGGB" a single

I think she's still working on a new album but to avoid being out of the charts between her "old" album and new album she (or her management) keeps releasing those singles ...

But those pics of her with T.I. are pretty. I luv Live You Life especially Rihanna's parts. Very catchy. So happy T.I. is doing well in album sales for Paper Trail as well. :heart

It's not a rumor they are shooting the music video for that song. Here's some photos from the video.

^OMG! No. :weep Watta way to rip off Beyonce. =/ She might as well turn all of her songs into singles now and make pvs for them. I heard the song on the radio earlier today which kinda made me go 'WTF?" I mean, what happened to Breakin' Dashes? Was it a FAIL on air waves or something? DDD:

As for the video, Im not expecting much. I can't believe JT is doing the lil mohawk hairstyle as well. :no Rihanna makes even the uglies things trendy. lol I must say that I didn't know Rihanna was that thick. I mean, in her other pvs off of GGGB, she looks skinny in the legs but like they were well toned.

What the hell is with you and saying everyone copies Beyonce? I've seen this in multiple threads now. Beyonce wasn't the first one to shoot a ton of videos and release a a large amount of singles from one album, nor was she the first to release a double-disc or concept album. Get over it; no one's copying Beyonce. If anything, Beyonce took those ideas from the multitude of artists who have done the same things she has in the past.

Yup, I've noticed that.

bondingo 3rd November 2008 02:40 AM

Cori, when you aren't making your own ridiculous posts, you just quote other people and say that you agree, so I see no reason why you should be commenting on a friend of mine on this board quoting me and agreeing. Unlike you, I tend to see her elaborate further on it (with this specific situation not quite being an example of that). A fourth of your posts are probably just you quoting someone else and saying "I noticed that" or "I agree".

And ddd, obviously we're not the same person. The fact that another user on this board and I are friends and have similar opinions does not mean that we are the same user. Ask any mod to check our IPs, or even check the Member Pic Thread to see that we're most definitely different people. That's kind of ridiculous that you'd even suggest that.

MemorialAddress 3rd November 2008 02:47 AM

We're not the same person, sorry to disappoint you DDD and Cori :rolleyes
I just happen to agree with Jake about 99.9% of the time, and I actually think it's neccessary for me to back him up since a lot of times people seem to disagree with him. It's good to know when people agree with you, so I like to let it be known :P

Rihanna and Justin Timberlake have filmed a music video for the song "Rehab" at Vasquez Rocks Park outside of Los Angeles on October 21, 2008. The director is Anthony Mandler. The confirmation of when it is to be released it yet to be announced

Ikr! It's more than 2 and half years old. I really don't see Rehab being a huge hit that Breakin' Dashes would have been...even tho I don't like that song much either. I think she should have saved her reloaded songs for her next album.

And yea, I might have been bring'n up Beyonce blah blah but that was only in the Britney thread which I wasn't saying she was copying her. You have to admit that Rihanna is doing too much of the same stuff that Beyonce did with B'day.

There is pretty much an infinite list of Chinese pop artists who have done it before Beyonce. And Rihanna hasn't made a video for every song on Good Girl Gone Bad, just the singles. There's one key difference from B'Day.

And no, I don't think Rihanna's doing too much of the same that Beyonce did. Rereleases are common nowadays and I already explained why I think they differ with the music videos. I think you're just looking for similarities when they really aren't there. Not everyone is copying Beyonce.

Well it seems that a lot of you are hating on "Rehab" even though I know it's "What comes around goes around..." part 2 I like it.

Please, Rihanna, for God's sake put out some new material. I'm so sick of most of the songs from GGGB that I can hardly listen to it anymore, which sucks because it's an awesome album
She is coming out with an album next year:

On October 4th 2008 in an interview with All Music, Rihanna confirmed that she is currently in the studio working on her fourth studio album. She stated that.

“I’m currently working on record number four and I’m having so much fun. I’m having so many new experiences and meeting so many new people, it’s amazing”.

Rihanna also stated that the album will head in a more Techno Rock direction saying,

“I want this album to head in the same direction as Good Girl Gone Bad but with even more edge. The tracks will be less R&B influenced and will have a feel closer to that of, Disturbia, Shut Up & Drive and Breakin’ Dishes”.

Rihanna also stated that she will be writing 3 tracks of the album herself and that they are quite different from her previous work and also stated that one of the tracks will fit into the punk-rock category”. She is also studying for a new and more even hot look. A release date for the album has not yet been announced, but it’s probably that it will came out in early 2009

I guess that means a lot of Collaborations. Hmm.....doubt it will help change her miserable sales in Albums for the better though.

I guess since Rihanna is a Singles Seller, someone had the "brilliant" idea to make more of her old songs from "Good Girl Gone Bad" into Singles to trick people into buying them. Ugh. I'm not fooled.

Definitely. I own quite a few of her albums and they all have a video for every song.

And wow, I am SO excited for the new Rihanna album hearing that she's going with a "techno Rock" style. Those are definitely the songs she does best. I think this next album will be absolutely amazing if it does end up being as she says it will.

The techno pop direction huh. I hope it's good. :) I'm guessing Rehab is going to be her last single from GGGB. Gawd, I hope so.

@Bondy: I had a feeling you were going to say asian artists do that. My statement was meant to be as in america. =/

Temari_2 3rd November 2008 02:43 PM

Yup Rehab will be the last single off that album she will promote.

what are you talking about? Unless your referring to her 1st album sale

GGGB:Reloaded has sold 2 million+ copies in the States and 6 million+ world wide
AGLM: 1 million + in States and 2 million+ worldwide
MOTS: 500,000+ in States and 2 million+ worldwide

Michael Jackson made videos for just about every song on Dangerous :)

True, but not each track, but 11 out of 14 I think :yes

Exactly, and Rihanna didn't do a video for every track on Good Girl Gone Bad, but a large amount of them. That completely destroys Luv's argument. Looking at it in those terms, Rihanna would be copying Michael Jackson, but I don't believe that's the case myself. Promoting an album by turning a high ratio of the tracks into singles and therefore making videos for them is no new strategy that any artist is doing because they stole the idea from another artist. It's a rather devious marketing technique that, in this case, seems to be working rather well.

Oh, and btwz Luv: Blondie's "Eat To The Beat" and 50 Cent's "The Massacre" both had videos for every song. Those both came before B'Day. So what were you arguing again?

Ayumi27 4th November 2008 12:36 AM

I don't know what you and Luv are discussing about but I get your idea, I mean, that promotion technique is quite desperetly due to the minimal sales of physical CD's nowaday, so to increase sales that way... And it's a completely different case for MJ, he was in top of the world when he released vids massively (Bad to HIStory), and of course most of them where millon-dollar extravaganzas shoot all over the world with huge casts, impressive effects and complex coreographies... I don't recall seeing that on Rihanna's vids anyway

Exactly. I mean, artists make music videos for songs on their albums, that's all there is to it. Who cares if multiple artists make videos for all the songs on their CD? That doesn't mean they're copying one another.
That would be like saying the entire music industry copies eachother by making even one music video, since obviously SOMEONE had to have made the first video ever. I hope I made sense here...:tired
Ooops! I agreed with bondingo again! ;)

hhhmmm she doesn't copy him, but she definitely samples him ;) It's cool to hear Michael screaming in "Don't Stop The Music" -woo hooo hoo hee heee heee- plus parts of "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" playing on it LOL

And a new album? Good!

dddaiyamondo 4th November 2008 03:31 AM

B'Day is the only album I actually remember having a PV for every song. Blondie, 50 Cent and Michael Jackson somehow don't really come to mind.

Yup. It's quite annoying as well. Trying to play off old news as brand new. Just let it die already.

That doesn't change anything though. I didn't know B'Day had a video for every song until I heard Luv say it did.

Temari_2 12th November 2008 01:47 AM

So this happened on Friday but to update those of you that didn't hear this.

"Rihanna wasn’t feeling the best earlier today whilst performing in Sydney, Australia with boyfriend Chris Brown.

Our girl was seen running off stage after gesturing to her tummy midway through a song. Yummy man Chris Brown reportedly finished the song then ran off stage to join his girl.

It seems Rihanna continued the rest of the show without mentioning it again! Read on to check out the video!

** UPDATE: Reader Emily was at the concert and said that Cinderella (the song Chris and Rihanna were singing) was the last of the show and she didn’t return to the stage after that."

Here's the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrMkF...eature=related

freedreamer 13th November 2008 05:28 AM

Cinderalla is SO COOL! haha

poor Rihanna..hopefully her show at Singapore on saturday will be great!

Huaka 13th November 2008 08:51 AM

So, did anyone listen to the leaked song that's from her new album? It sounds kind of awkward, doesn't flow that well, but it's interesting. The title is interesting. Lmao. Take out the stars and the put in the word b----.

So I have some rumors about Rihanna (well this one is about her band)

RIHANNA’S BAND BEATS UP ANOTHER BAND

"Rihanna's band apparently beat up a group called Boyzone in a fight at an Australian tourdate. Apparently, one of the Boyz tried to flirt with a girl in the Rihanna crew. Well, I think she was dating one of the other RiRi bandmates. Dude didn’t take too kindly to the gesture and bombed on the Boy. All of Boyzone didn’t get housed though, but it was wild enough that security had to break it up. Boyzone says they weren’t even trying to do anything, but the dude just took it the wrong way."

Also here's a preview of Rihanna's new music video "Rehab" which will premiere on November 17th on MTV

I love her song "Disturbia" so much. It's just so addicting, and I can't stop playing it. :heart

Is there any news so far about her, like did she recover from being beat up from Chris, or what's new with her? Someone give us an update on her situation right now?
