Still postponed... Elva just posts stuff sometimes saying that they're working on it, but that's it...

Everything is ready but there is one problem remaining: MV shooting (because of Covid).

The upcoming single's choreographer who is American can't come to Taiwan for the MV, that's why we didn't get anything since the 2nd single according to an article.
Elva and her team are thinking of an alternative plan. If everything goes well, Naked Truth's next single will be released in September.

We have been waiting six years for this comeback and what we've got is just a messy schedule and lot of problems with MV shooting, single releasing, and a lot of delays.
Situation with Covid is basically under control in Taiwan, every artist I know is now releasing albums there and shooting MVs, even performing concerts, so I don't quite get Elva's excuses anymore ... I still love her, just cannot wait till she FINALLY gives us something again ... and by something I mean a new single or even an album already, not another post on facebook telling us she is still working on it ;-)

Still the same excuse for the delay... The dancers are from overseas, same goes for the choreographers/directors or something.

I keep seeing her trending on Weibo for sounding sad in her fan group. And that she accidentally posted a video and deleted it.

I hope she's fine emotionally and mentally :(

Naked Truth sold 69,489 copies since its release on QQ Music (China) !
In its first hour of release NAKED TRUTH sold 20,000 copies, making it the fastest album to reach Double Gold (20,000 copies) in 2020 (HK and TW female singer category).

She's been #1 on iTunes Taiwan since the album's release.

I liked it too ! I was not expecting much so I was pleasantly surprised !

Actually, it is a pleasant surprise ... since this album was in production literary for yeeeears, I was expecting songs sounding totally outdated when finally released, but the album sounds quite fresh, I must admit. I like it very much after a few first listenings.

However, I still think this era is a total mess, especially considering this is her last full album as she stated before. We just deserved MORE, MUCH MORE! And I am not talking about constant delays but about other messy facts, such as We Steal the Night song was promoted on YouTube but scrapped for no reason from the album, we only got ONE music video for In a Heartbeat (and even that was loooong time ago), and only simple lyrics video for Celebrate Everyday, no info if other MVs will be released, no tour/concert announcement yet (what I was expecting from her after years of inactivity) etc etc etc

Naked Truth album is good but it simply deserves MUCH BETTER promo. I am happy it sells well (even if I was not expecting it at all), but let's be honest here, it is kind of a miracle it is selling well and I guess fans are just being "hungry" and feels nostalgic after all these years of inactivity of hers, rather than Elva did a good job with promoting this album. Sorry to say it.

Don't be sorry to say that, it's true. People buying at the moment are most likely at 90% her fans who were waiting eagerly for her new album. If there is no promo coming ahead sales will drop very soon.

According to articles I read Naked Truth is the title song and has a MV. The delays in 2020 were due officially to Covid. But lots of other artists have been able to release albums and singles... Honestly, based on the articles I read, I'll go with pommy's previous comment here. It seems that for the past 3 years she's been trying to heal her body but not her mind... It makes me believe that her depression is still there. I think that's the main reason why the album promo has been so bad and everything scheduled this year has been scrapped.

I don't think there will be a tour anytime soon... Money is in China and right now it's not possible to tour there for Taiwanese artists because of Covid (quarantine, application to go to China...). That's why at the moment there are only Tour concerts held in Taipei or Kaohsiung (eg Cyndi Wang or Jolin Tsai). Rainie Yang has not been able to see her husband Li Ronghao for months, almost for a year now because of China's restrictions.

yeah, that´s what I expect to happen, unfortunately. The initial articles about album selling pretty well are just taking into account first-days/first-week sales, but this is not sustainable without any massive promo. Like you are saying ... those are mostly fans of her buying album, but continuing with this messy strategy (no promo right now, no music video released simultaneously with releasing album, no special physical edition yet, no concerting even in Taiwan ...), I am afraid the album will flop eventually.

well... it is nice there is an MV for Naked Truth song, but looking at other big female stars from Taiwan, Elva is not even trying.
Jolin released Ugly Beauty two years ago and she is still SLAYING with that album and releasing music videos, touring, promoting. Amei has been giving us MV for every song on her album for past 5 or 6 albums, I guess.
Elva? Took a break for 6 years, came back with Naked Truth after all those delays and gave us what?! In a Heartbeat MV and someday she will give us Naked Truth .. and that´s it? (I am not even mentioning we only got album with 9 songs). This should have been her biggest release if she is serious about quitting releasing full-length albums after this one.

Totally agree ... yes, I know there is Covid and it is really unfortunate situation but the situation in Taiwan is pretty much stable for a past few months. It is not like Europe where I am living and where virus is still raging .. moreover, many artists released their new albums last year and Covid didnt effect their plans in any way (Hebe, Abao, Rainie Yang, Wang Fang, Jiang Jing and many others).
Actually, I like your opinion about depression ... it is most likely true. She is pushing her body too much with practice, but is not trying to heal her mind in any way. At least, it seems like it.

Some fans have addressed Elva on Weibo about the lack of promotion for her latest album... And she wrote an answer to two of them.
Can't blame them, the promotion for this album is totally non-existent...

She really just dropped the (potentially last) album out of the blue in December 2020 and disappeared without promoting it at least a little bit?! Or am I dreaming how messy is all this..or missing anything?!

She still doesn't look well psychologically at all, so no wonder... She keeps posting things like "positive attitude" "posting this to cheer me up"...
She also got bitten by one of her dogs too on her face and broke up with her boyfriend it seems (who also got bitten by her dog and reportedly spent 1 month at the hospital ?).

And I am still here waiting for Naked Truth Music Video and We Steal the Night song she promised us 3 years ago :D

But nice to hear, she was able to sign with Warner, was not expecting that at all. I guess it means she must have definitely signed for an album and Naked Truth was luckily not her last one as she stated back then.
