Wow I go to bed and wake up and all this news ^_^ I've already preordered cheaper than I thought it would be too, but Cd Japan emailed me with other artists releases as well <_< ah well I've got time to save. Its a nice collection to have So I definately didn't hesitate.

On another note I think it would be good if ayu didn't release a single just yet. Don't get me wrong I'd love new material <3 But I think it's best if she spaces out her singles. I have noticed for the past 2 years she was only releasing 2 singles a year. We already have had one (even though it was just an extended Mirror but still I enjoyed it greatly) Quality over quantity, I'm sure she'll have another single, I was actually expecting one in the fall but looks like since we're getting this "A Complete" it will be either a winter release *hoping for a winter ballad single* or a single next year sometime.

Why does this has AVEX marketing stamps all over it? The DVD and the booklet certainly seem worth the buy, but it's a bad strategy to release it so soon after A BEST 2. But then again, it could be AVEX milking it for all its worth.

I also dread what's going to happen when Ayu actually retires.

The only 2 reasons i can think of why AVEX did this A complete whatever DVD thing is because of her 10th Anniversary and to show to Asia [china, taiwan, south korea, hong kong, singapore, etc] her musical career or "musical history"

I like this, especially the DVD content, performances I haven't seen. I'm going to get it, as I wasn't able to get the A BEST 2 -BLACK- CD+DVD package last year, and for once I have the money for it.

Guys, it's not unusual for japanese artistes to release something like this during their silver, golden, whatever anniversaries. It in no way signals she's going to retire. It's also a very profitable venture since the japanese buy into all that commemoration idea. I believe it's going to sell well looking at ayu's compilation sales trend except for A-ballads but that's probably because that album had almost no reason to be released. A 10th anni commemoration is a HUGE reason to be releasing a compilation album that encompasses every single from 8.4 to 8.4 so to speak.

Initially, i was frustrated when i saw the news of this release as well. What's the point of A Best 2 then? But i believe this is a very japanese mindset. The purpose is of the utmost importance. A Best 2 was to signal a 3rd chapter of her music career. This release is purely for the 10th anni spirit. Very corny for many cultures i think but there you have it. If you cannot understand this reasoning, then this release will probably annoy you very much, especially if you are a diehard fan who is buying this purely to support ayu. Ayu is very fortunate to have so many wonderful fans on this forum :yes

I love it how people say that ayu rashes new material but when there is a bigger difference between new material releases (singles and studio albums) they call it rashed but if there is something that is released instead meanwhile then it's unneccesary and the new material is still "rashed" even with the big difference (since it doesn't look like people are willing to wait).
People should be less conservative lol.

I agree. I'm frustrated that they released it so soon after A BEST 2, but I guess this seem to be a ten anniversary celebrate thing than anything else. I actually thought Avex should have put this compilation as a limited album with only XXX,XXX amount of copies.

Ahh, there's no trauma. -falls- That's one of the best Ayu songs missing!! Though I do reeeeally look forward to the re-recording to Who..., contrary to the idea that "some songs need to be left alone", I'm really looking forward to this, because Who... is my favourite Ayu song and for there to be a new recording is just wonderful news for me.

I think it's the perfect time for this kind of release, especially seeing as Ayu had a complete live box years back.

July 1st and HANABI are huge Ayu hits, very surprised that they are not in the album, same with the songs from her A single.

appears there was the immature (JT CM version).
appears is a re-cut single but as immature was on LOVEppears and had that tie-in I think it's an a-side. XD

they obviously just wanted 1 song from each single. And they used Track no.1 for all of them. so debating whether something is an A-side or whatever is pointless

decision, ever free and immature weren't really a-sides, but more like b-sides, as non of the singles had a "/" in the name.

This is just AB + AB2 but a little bit cheaper. I don't think it'll do very well..

It seems like... Ayu could've released this as a DVD release, and people would've liked it. "A UNRELEASED" or something, or "A VAULT" and had unseen concerts/clips etc..

The DVD just reminds me of a bad BoA DVD [aka THE FACE].

I'd say that I'm probably going to get this, but I don't really feel good about it. First time this has happened, mostly because only like 1/4th of this release is new, whereas with like A BEST 2, we got a huge concert+documentary. My suspicion is that they want to test the waters with this release to see what Ayu can sell with such a huge amount of material. Though it's basically A BEST + A BEST 2 + other songs.

Also, I'm realizing that this collection might have huge promotion, with Ayu singing plenty of older singles on TV shows that she previously hadn't before. Perhaps that might be a bad thing though...

I'm not buying this for the songs at all. Basically having the Limited TA Live tour alone would make me buy it. Photobook + unreleased a-nation is amazing too. The songs can be considered as some bonus. :D

Another thing.....I buy CDs for the music...not the DVD content. Sometimes I'll spend 1-5 dollars more for DVD content, but rarely. I listen to music ALL DAY. I don't watch tv very often. So I don't know how much I would use this item.

And I'm leaving for Japan in September for an exchange....for a year. I don't want to buy this and then never use it for a year!

Uh, I don't think anyone said that it would reach the million mark. It's highly likely that it will sell okay, but not well by any means. It's anyone's guess as to EXACTLY how much it'll sell though.

The reason why those single songs were not included were because the title tracks of A, H and &, were respectively monochrome, independent, and ourselves. They were featured as a little subtitle in some listings next to the symbols.

That's what I thought as well.
It's not your usual BEST album and therefore I think that the sales won't be high as people expect because it looks like it's like one of those box sets which sell like DVDs.

If it will sell like a normal album/compilation album then it will be amazing.

Well, the people who release the boxsets that sell like DVDs are usually the artists who have never hit the #1 spot [or don't hit it nowadays] and are putting it out because of some sort of celebration or something..

See: day after tomorrow complete box, DO THE BOX, hitomi's PEACE, ZARD's complete singles box, etc etc.

We've never seen something like this coming from an artist as high up as Ayu [currently.]

It's not really a ripoff considering all the "new" stuff she's offering us. [a-nation / TeamAyu live / special premium photobook]

The TeamAyu extras for this is a special 10th anniversary sticker [as is the mu-mo exclusive] and TA members also get a mini tote bag that says "WE LOVE AYU" along with their purchase.

Is there actually any proof for this? The 4,800 yen tag pretty much killed this for me. I can't imagine any Japanese record company releasing a 3CD + dvd set that cheap. Plus the image looks totally fan made.

Like someone here already said, A BEST 2 was for the 2nd period of ayu's career (A BEST was for the 1st) this one is for her whole 10 anniversary (and of course most of the single songs will be used again).

It's pretty official if CDJapan lets to pre-order that, I did.
Avex might be waiting just a few days to announce it properly.

And just for the record, it's a very different release from the A BESTS. There are still 15 songs on this collection that went unrepresented in the A BESTs.

All this is moot if you own every album & single anyway, but chances are that you're a completeist then and you'll wanna get this just for the DVD & new version of "Who..." :P

But if you already only have the A BESTs, then with this you get a photobook, a DVD, and 16 tracks that are basically new to you. That's not a bad deal for under $50.

tbh I dun buy singles, so if kanariya, AUDIENCE, Daybreak, etc. are the single versions, it will be excellent. But I have a feeling that they may be the album version again.

Of course there're many songs from A BEST/2 not present on this one. Many songs, esp from A BEST 2, are album songs. So it'll be weird to see them on this "ALL SINGLES" best. BUT, now I see you put HANABI as one of the features not on this upcoming best... I'm shocked!!! Gosh July 1st, HANABI, Greatful days, HANABI~episode II~ are A sides as well!!!! How come they're not on there!?!?!?!??!

This is not even a "complete" all singles. They exclude trauma, end roll, too late, etc. I know they're not the first track on the single, but they're A sides as well. I have no idea why avex would omit these songs. Damn I hate this. This is so incomplete.

They omitted them because they weren't the title tracks. If you look back at the releases, A, H, and & all had subtitles, like A (monochrome) or H (independent), and & (ourselves). Basically, those were the headlining songs, and thus are the ones chosen for the best. This isn't that incomplete, considering that if she didn't omit songs, there'd be a disc with like 8 songs on it.
