R/S out from top 50 |
Awww... Out of the top 50 already? I'm not too surprised.
|
Sucks that it is out of Top 50. :/
|
^Agreed, although it's chances of charting well were totally killed by NEXT LEVEL's announcement.
Why buy the single if you can buy the album, right? |
^Adding to the ayu collection, remixes and instrumentals... Not enough to entice me though. I was hoping riozz or ayumisrael could get the figures somehow haha...
|
has R/S stopped charting?
|
ayu broke 300K.... yay~

88 *50 ***,628 130,162 **7 浜崎あゆみ 「Rule/Sparkle」
|
Got this from Ryo at the Oricon thread in the Asian Media Chat section :
Top 50 Singles Of '09 : 11 *,130,162 ***,628 Rule/Sparkle / 浜崎あゆみ 09/02/25 |
OMG RULE DID SO WELL IT IS SUCH AN AMAZING SONG! GOOD NUMBERS!
|
I wonder how it will look like in the end of 09. But for now its a good place! ^^
|
seeing as it's only april, i'm sure it will move down the list a lot by the time 09 ends, haha. but as for now, it did pretty well, seeing as the album was announced and all. I guess i didn't have super high expectations for it anyway xD
|
At least it will stay on top 50 after the end of 2009, hopefully

^The sales this year must be quite pathetic for Rule to be no.11. Then of course, there was the monster of arashi's single selling half a million. It was mentioned that NL is no.7 for the first 4 months of the year too. Wonder which popular artiste might release this year.
|
^ how can anyone keep doing that?! blows my mind.
at least R/S had a good run for such terrible circumstanes. Ayu should have included a track on the single that wouldn't be included on the album to help sales. |
Total Sales: 122,125...
I hope she will sell more copies... |
Amazing how R/S is among the most succesful singles of 2009 so far with such low sales... Sales keep getting worst every year!

It's a bit sad that it has stopped charting/selling I think that will go for Rule / Sparkle soon Quote:
|
Wow... she's one of only two females on that chart...
|
^^Not surprising. Ayu is still our queen!
|
Sales are definately hard for female artists, I'm hoping she keeps Rule/Sparkle up there in top 10 or 20 for the year!!

I doubt if D/G can be pushed out from top 40. at least like MW at #33 at the end of 2008
D/G is pretty good in chart no one female singer outsell it so far |
I think the fact that R/S sold less than 1k is a sign that it will stop charting soon. Nice run and hope it stays in top 50 annually.
To Karen: Yeah yeah, I'm sure arashi will release with a bang AGAIN. You know how Wiki claim ayu once accounted for 40% of avex's profit? I think arashi is doing that for JE now. Not even KATTUN is selling very well. Only Arashi. |

KAT-TUN has more or less lost their peak when comes to single/album sales (I STILL LOVE THEM THEIR MUSIC ROCKS OK) . They don't have the same selling power as they once had when they finally were able to debut 3 years ago with a BIG BANG (7 editions of their debut single Real Face anyone ? :dead2) But it's fine since as time goes by , their music just keeps getting better & their new album Break the Records -by you & for you- is already shaping up to shoot straight to my fave album of the year list once again just like last year's KAT-TUN III -QUEEN OF PIRATES- :smitten Unlike their koukai's KAT-TUN , ARASHI took a good 8-9 years to get to where they're which's a very rare sight in the Jpop music scene . It's not often you see an artiste who has been around for 10 years & they only manage to hit it big only just last year in which their hard work has definitely paid off big time |

they can sell a LOT for singles but can barely do squat when comes to albums it's always the norm for them , I rarely see a Johnny's band that can sell a lot for albums & little for singles . In fact probably never at this day & age |
Times are changing, the sales will never be like they was back in the time. (if Japan wont do like in Sweden, since ipred and piratebay the CD sales have gone up 30%...)
Anyway, the sales always kicks down with time in physical sales. I think we should take more note on is the physical sales and the digital together. I mean, Ayu keeps her #1 spot and that is still kickass! :D |
130k is satisfying for me :D
|
Most of the top placers are from JE.
After I watched the debut PV of those guys, no doubt that they had this strong appeal and charisma to their music and to their image compare to Ayu. Spoiler:
In Ayu's case on R/S, even though it has low sales, it gets the #1 spot though. Its a good thing to be appreciate the single's performance even it was paired on a "flop" movie. :rolleyes I think it will surpass B&D.... |
wah i wish days/green was still charting >_< would have been nice if it hit 200k :P
but it's interesting that there are only 2 female artists on that list. it's amazing, actually. |

maybe the same thing's happening again right now to Ai no mama de . The whole sleeper hit issue's pretty cool Quote:

Days is the reason for the success of Days/GREEN.
<3 Days, like totally! |
Quote:
took me forever to appericate Days I know I'm just weird |
R/S hasn't surpassed B&D? Aw, her sales are really getting more front-loaded these days. Maybe it can chart for a few more weeks depending on how other singles do.
|
Quote:
I like to think that the remixes helped R/S sales but three versions was horrible :shakehead |
Quote:
Quote:
if you think 3 versions of a single's bad , how about 4 & let alone 7 *points to KAT-TUN's DON'T U EVER STOP & Real Face* :dead2 & yours truly bought all 4 editions of DUES -_-''' |
I also liked GREEN from the first listen but Days seemed so mundane but it has grown a lot on me since. My friend said it's the Japanese culture to have so many varieties. If they see only 1 version, it's sort of like a turn off... Utada Hikaru CDs seem to be immune to this theory though.
I think 3 versions for R/S is quite standard. Now the USB thing for NL seems like a gimmick but a very beautiful and practical gimmick. Everyone could use an USB. |
i dont think the remixes helped rule/sparkle...the remixes were awful...(the scoustic ones arent, i mean the others). i hate them so much hahaha i havent been able to even listen to them...
|
I personally LOVE Green's CMJK remix and Rule's 80 Kidz. Infact they were so awesome that I had to have Version C. I thought the acoustic ones were boring.
|
Yeah the acoustic ones didn't impress me as much as I'd hoped. They're still pretty though.

last week for R/S in chart even it cant outsell B&D/Pride |
100k is great for singer like her in my country

Gosh, i'm surprised it is still charting with those figures.

But nothing compared to her sales a few years ago(even if you calculate with the declining sales), for ayu, its nothing, a single seeling under 100k from ayu is just ...o.0...o.0...o.0
|
^you really shouldnt compare her sales from even 2 years ago or so to her sales now..since there has been HUGE changes in the music and financial world

Singers in America have been selling terribly for a while now as well. Singles that sell 30k in the first week can still expect to get around #2 on the chart - that should show you the extent to which sales have declined heavily in Japan.

12 *,130,816 ***,276 Rule/Sparkle / 浜崎あゆみ 09/02/25
|
i thought that R/S stopped charting by now
|
this year chart is very low.. even sales 200 copies still in top 200. usually the least sales will be around 300-500
|
^Yeah, sales in general aren't great as they were used to be and this is one of the many evidences. =\
Rule/Sparkle could chart for 9 weeks even though the album was just 4 weeks away. xD ayu's awesome. |

But Bold & Delicious was released in 2006, general sales and ayu's popularity were higher, that's why Rule/Sparkle did great considering everything. ^__^
A lot of people barely believed it will sell 100,000 before its release.. |
wow!
R/S was staying alive until this moment?!? That's great! Thanks for the update! |
Quote:
|
can R/S really make 3k more (to reach B&D's sales) when it's charting with only 200 per week? i feel like it's going to drop out soon.

I'm glad it's still on the chart. :)
|
thats rly good that it's still around.. people must not be sick of the songs yet!
|
I guess it's final sales would be around 131k which is quite good. The debut sales were prolly better that B&D/Pride due to the fact there were 3 ver. Plus maybe people simply decided to buy it on it's first week. Just cuz it's debut sales were better than B&D/Pride's and it didn't manage to outsell it doesn't make it less successful. It's one of the best selling female singles this year.

thanks for the update.. it's nice to see if it can stay on cahrt for 10 weeks at least
|
so the *undead is dead :dead2
anyway great fighting spirit on the chart for R/S |
Not even 10 weeks of charting? Oh well, it was a fun single while it lasted.

Top 50 Singles Of '09 :
13 *,130,816 ***,*** Rule/Sparkle / 浜崎あゆみ 09/02/25 alas it has stopped charting/selling :( |
already stop charting for 2 weeks, Karen
|
So the final sales are 131k (around ~it prolly sold 200 copies more in these 2 weeks).
|
^If it doesn't chart, the figures will not be accumulated. So it's still 'stuck' at 130,816.
