V6's Sakamoto becomes Zorro
Masayuki Sakamoto (39) of V6 will take on the starring role in a production of the "Zorro" musical next year. Sakamoto has appeared in stage productions every year since 1992, but this is said to be the first time that he has earned the part through an audition. The "Zorro" musical was first performed in London in 2008-2009, and the Japanese version will be produced by the same staff. They came to Japan this past January to hold auditions, which reportedly included many famous actors. After hearing Sakamoto's singing, director Christopher Renshaw felt that he was perfect for the part of Zorro. Sakamoto's part will include scenes of flamenco, flying, and fencing. Popular group SMAP's new single "We are SMAP" will be the new theme song for the worlds greatest performance shown at Cirque du Soleil from next year in February. The last single that the duo released was in June of 2008 with “Koiuta/Progress”, that sold over 100K copies. SMAP’s Nakai to sing solo on TV for first time
On August 31 SMAP’s Masahiro Nakai (38) will sing solo on TV for the first time, it was revealed today reports Oricon. The SMAP leader will sing his solo song “Memory ~June~” on “The Music Hour”, a show that he and Takaaki Ishibashi (48) have been hosting. The song is one found on SMAP’s latest album “We are SMAP!”, which was released on July 21. Koichi Domoto to star in Kansai Yamamoto's version of "Seven Samurai"
Fashion designer Kansai Yamamoto (66) is putting together a stage production called the "KANSAI SUPER SHOW: Shichinin no Samurai," based on Akira Kurosawa's famous 1954 film "Shichinin no Samurai" ("Seven Samurai"). KinKi Kids member Koichi Domoto (31) will star as the character Kikuchiyo, who was originally played by legendary actor Toshiro Mifune. Yamamoto has apparently been preparing this production for the past three years. Although it is based on the Kurosawa movie, he explained that it will be set in the present day and that the method of expression will be completely different. It is being reported that Yamamoto plans to make it a 90-minute "spectacle show" with no lines of dialogue. The rest of the "seven samurai" will be played by Akira Emoto (61), Riisa Naka (20), kickboxer Masato (31), Dachou Club's Ryuhei Ueshima (49), Olympic gymnast Yukio Iketani (39), and dancer Kaiji Moriyama (36). However, the entire cast is said to consist of 500 people. Yamamoto has designed "samurai fashion" costumes for the show, which will be complemented by lots of visual effects from water to fire to wire-flying. It will be performed at the Ariake Coliseum on November 20-21, with an anticipated total audience of 32,000. However, Yamamoto is hoping to have the show performed overseas as well. On September 14th, one of the premier music programs in Japan, The Music Hour (formally known as ‘Utaban‘) ended its 14-year history. The final episode was three hours long, and it showed the summary of its 14 year-run, including battles between one of the MC, Nakai Masahiro, and featured guests (particularly the famous battle with Ohno Satoshi of Arashi). SMAP's Shanghai concerts in danger
Kyodo News is reporting that SMAP's concerts at Shanghai Stadium on October 9-10 may get canceled due to an escalating incident between China and Japan. Ticket sales for the shows have reportedly been suspended already due to the high likelihood of cancellation. Last month, Japanese officers arrested a Chinese fishing boat captain on charges that he deliberately rammed his boat into a Japanese patrol boat. He is currently being detained by a Japanese court despite Chinese opposition, leading to strained relations between the two countries. On Monday, China took moves to suspend much of its political communications with Japan, and there have been reports of other measures being taken on a commercial level. With the matter currently unresolved, holding the SMAP concerts in Shanghai may prove to be impossible. As a result, organizers are apparently putting the concerts on hold for the time being. Aya Ueto, Go Morita break up after 8 years
It is being reported that actress Aya Ueto (25) and V6 member Go Morita (31) have broken up, ending a romance that lasted nearly 8 years. Based on information from multiple sources, it appears that they separated in May, about a month after they first publicly acknowledged their relationship. Rumors about Ueto and Morita started at the end of 2002, when a magazine published an article claiming that they were dating. Neither side acknowledged those rumors until April of this year, when Ueto confirmed that she was in a relationship. At that time, it was also reported that the two were getting close to marriage. After those reports of imminent marriage, it is said that Ueto and Morita re-examined their plans for the future. Ueto apparently has a strong desire to get married, but based on the fact that Morita is part of an idol group and both of their schedules are so busy that they often cannot meet, they mutually decided to break up and focus on their careers for now. I think the problem with regards to the breakup of ayumi & Nagase & then now Ueto & Morita is that when you're with someone in relationship for such a long time & not getting married/settling down , it can reach a stage where you feel more like brother/sister rather than lovers

Koichi Domoto introduces his pet dog to 15,000 fans
Koichi Domoto (31) from KinKi Kids showed his affectionate side as he hugged and talked about his pet dog Pan-chan during his “BPM” Yokohama concert yesterday, reports Sports Hochi and Daily Sports. During Monday’s concert, the singer said he had a special guest to introduce to everyone, and his pet dog Pan, a 21-month-old female chihuahua, walked on stage. But with 15,000 fans cheering in front of her, it has been reported that Pan began to shake, to which a panicked Koichi came running to her side, scooping her into his arms and apologizing to his dog for giving her a fright. Koichi said it had been his talent agency boss Johnny Kitagawa’s idea to bring Pan on stage, suggesting it would be nice to show her her owner at work. “I told Johnny-san that if I was going to let her on stage, she would need to be signed up to the Johnny’s agency. He cast that idea aside but maybe I push for it again,” Koichi said. Koichi is in the middle of first solo tour in a year, which started on September 11 in Okinawa. Using some of the most advanced lighting systems available today, the singer danced his way through 18 songs. “On stage is the one place I can be myself the most. “Do I have a girlfriend? It’s quite difficult to find one now…but I’m happy,” he said. V6 challenges a new program + a new song!
V6's new program "Mission V6", starting tomorrow night, features the Johnny's group's six members challenging difficult tasks in a total of 10 minutes. A preview for the program has been revealed, revealing the members taking on the task of holding their breath/keeping their eyes open in a tank of water for a 10 minute period. This sneak peek also came with a preview of a new song, Mission of Love! i just listened to a few songs by tackey & tsubasa, and i really love SAMURAI, Crazy Rainbow, Koi uta, and especially Dame! the PV is so funny, lol! :P i think i'll listen to a few more songs by them because their really good! now i wonder what the new single will sound like.

All I can say is that WELCOME BACK guys :weep :weep :weep after not releasing anything as a duo for the past 2 1/2 years D: D: D: anyway song wise , I find it a bit cheesy but the PV's entertaining . It reminded me of OLIVIA's Sailing free in line with the puppet show Tsubasa looked awesome xD & he's still the better dancer in the group as compared to Tackey ;p I think I see ABC-Z at the back prior to before the PV ends as I think I saw Kawai & Senga there :O |

Tackey makes an appearance on Tensai Shimura Doubutsuen
On November 20th, Takizawa Hideaki, better known as Tackey from the duo group Tackey & Tsubasa, made a guest appearance on NTV’s “Tensai! Shimura Doubutsuen.” In the beginning of the show, Tackey introduced his three loving miniature dachshund pets named Hidezo, Hidepita, and Kojiro. After this introduction, Aoki Sayaka questioned Tackey on his friendship with Aiba Masaki from Arashi. They started talking about how Aiba always stayed at Tackey’s house when they were in high school. Tackey commented, “It was troublesome! He stayed at my place everyday, and I had to do the laundry for him too.” When Aiba commented, “I really didn’t do anything” everyone around him was all surprised. Aiba brought up a story where they invited Yamapi (Yamashita Tomohisa from NEWS) and went to Disney Land because Tackey really wanted to go. Tackey was easily recognized by the fans and Aiba and Yamapi both had to get in between Tackey and the fans. TOKIO & Arashi to hijack the TV for New Year’s Eve
It’s been reported that two variety shows featuring JE groups will be broadcasted in a “relay style” for New Year’s Day. Running for five and a half hours, the two shows have been identified as “THE Ultraman DASH Kiseki no 3-pun kan wo Mokugeki seyo” and “Arashi ni Shiyagare New Year’s Day 2.5 hours special“. For the first, it will be hosted by the members of TOKIO, who will introduce experts on difficult subjects or interests; the group members report on the experts completing unique tasks, such as getting fully-dressed while sky diving, or breaking an egg while bungee jumping. TOKIO’s special will air at 6:00 p.m to 8:54 p.m on December 31st. Right after TOKIO’s show ends, Arashi’s “Arashi ni Shiyagare New year’s day 2.5 hours special” will air. The show is a special edition of their variety show “Arashi ni Shiyagare“. On this program, the group will welcome two sets of secret guests to the show – interestingly enough, the Arashi member will not be informed of who these special guests will be. “Arashi ni Shiyagare New Year’s Day 2.5 hour special” will air from 9:00 PM to 11:24 PM. KinKi Kids break their own Guinness World Record
The new single from Johnny’s group KinKi Kids has debuted at No.1 on the Oricon Weekly Charts today, making it the the 30th straight No.1 the duo have had since their debut and breaking their own world record, reports Oricon. In 2002, the Guinness World Records officially recognised that the duo’s 11th single “ボクの背中には羽がある (Boku no Senaka niwa Hane ga Aru)”, released in 2001, had surpassed the record held by Irish boy band Westlife for “Most consecutive No.1 singles since their debut”.
