I'm starting to see get my own interpretation of Microphone's PV, and the ending... I think I know why it's linked to Sexy little things. All I need is Slt's PV and I probably will be more sure of my thoughts~

It was down for most of the day this morning.

I love Duty. vogue is ok. INSPIRE is pretty cool.

But from the preview we had of Don't look back in the Lumix CM, the arabic feeling was different. Like more bollywood/hindi or whatever and I really disliked it. I just don't find that style entertaining. I'll set my expectations for the album a lot lower than they were and hopefully I won't be disappointed.

The Hindi/Arabic feel got turned up like 300% in the full version, haha.

I thought Ayu said this album was "back-to-basics" style. So I had this whole image of just classic Ayu headbangers/hits and it seems this album is very experimental.

Most people's reactions to Don't look back have been: "I love this... but then I hate it. BUT I LOVE IT."...

I'd say you might like it. But if you're totally turned off by that sitar, I don't know...

How do you feel about the sitar in this?

I love it in that song! Damn! Or how Ku uses it, but even with Ku's I always had to warm up to it. With Ayu, I just don't associate that with her. It's like, I'd rather have a really good song without it. I don't know how Ayu can do this style... it just doesn't work well in my mind and the preview on top of it was yucky. Lol.

The ethnicity did get bumped up in the HQ version, hah.
I like the backtrack more in the better quality version, but I'm still not feelin' this one, in general... Sorry, guys. :X Still, I do suddenly have hope for it to grow on me some, hah. We'll see......

Ayu's had sitar-ish sounds in vogue and INSPIRE though, and it worked just fine there, haha.

Back to basics seems to have meant "Back to the way she was before" where she'd choose songs from all over the place and still make them work together as an album, haha.

Hitomi kind of kicks Ayu's (and most other's) ass at exotically-themed pop songs.... Falco is AMAZING. I do like DLB a lot, but it definitely cannot compare with it. While not perfect, I must embrace the idea that Ayu is trying new things. We're always complaining that we've heard so-and-so song before and that she should explore jazz or whatnot. Yet when she does, people are upset that she's not sticking to her roots.

Overall, I love ethnic songs, and I honestly think that the Arabian style of DLB is the main thing that makes it beautiful to me. :)

Ayu's stuff is more typical pop... not symphony/classical or ethnic really. But she's starting to cross over into that territory with Don't look back.

Well in INSPIRE it really wasn't the forfront of the entertainment. INSPIRE to me is really, hectic? vogue too I never really liked been then I grew to it for a while. I guess it depends on how it's used. Idk, it just isn't looking/sounding good to me... Lol.

Oooh I like the sitar in Hitomi's song too. But really, I think it's fun that Ayu uses it in a more level then she did in INSPIRE and Vouge. She still don't do this in-your-face-sexy-bom-lala-boom like Kuu or Hitomi. She still keeps a cool attitude to it. Just like expected of Ayu, yet new. :D Thats why it works in my context.

Well, I didn't really care for the CM at all and I LOVE the actual song. It is definitely more upbeat sounding, and makes you kind of sway and dance along when listening. It's kind of an odd song that has a lot of instrumentation compared to the actual amount of lyrics there are, but it really works well for the song. It's just oddly catchy :yes

I have to correct you there; the hijab only covers the hair, while the burqa covers the entire face and may or may not leave the eyes exposed. The song is really a mash up of Indian-inspired music and a few typical Arabic-music notes. I was waiting for Mr Blista to show up, lol.

Lol. I'm still excited for the album none-the-less. Just watched the Microphone PV again and I love it more! Really does remind me of Ayu's old weird PVs. Haven't had one like this in a long time!

Well this is like, rock weird. BoY/GAME/About You/etc. To tell you the truth, I really couldn't get into You Were... so I don't really remember the PV. I was so in love with Days that You Were... disappointed me as it seemed really "forced" - the chorus was loud but it just didn't fully "kick-in" for me so when I downloaded the PV I don't know if I paid attention to the whole thing. I think I got bored with it so I skipped parts. Lol.

No naturally not THIS weird... But it was still pretty random with wierd outfits and movements and stuff. :P

Same here. You were... is my favorite Ayu winter song. I love the chorus so much. I thought it was a huge upgrade from Days, which was pretty, but kind of boring and didn't have that "wow" factor for me like You were... does.

Well I'm glad other people liked it. I was pretty happy with Days so I wasn't too disappointed, lol. To me, Days just has such an amazing melody, her voice is great, and just grabs you by the heart. From beginning to start. People say it's generic or whatever, but it's genius. I could not wait for the first snowfall this year so I could listen to it with my headphones while I was outside! It's the first thing I did when I woke up to snow - went outside with my iPod and Bose headphones and had a cigarette while listening to it. It didn't snow right at the beginning of winter here so I told myself I could not listen to Days until the first snowfall, ha ha ha. I couldn't help but smile while listening to it that morning! Lol. I was actually excited to shovel when I got home after work so I could listen to the Ayu winter songs/other J-pop winter songs.

I was more freaked out by the You were... PV than by Microphone... Guess I'm the only one? ^_^' I mean, Microphone is weird, and slightly random, but in a way that makes as much sense as something like that can. And there's really no across-the-board guessing needed. You were..., however, was extremely random and very weird, and made no sense at all, unless you tried to come up with some theories.

Dont look back- love it so much!! was expecting more from the verses though...they didnt to the choruses much justice. overall though the song is very good!! very inspire-ish but so much more middle eastern feel.

microphone- amazing pv! although it seemed a bit weird...like the table if you guys can see from the preview quality is cut into 2 pieces...wonder why... the song is okay except for the beginning and ends things...dont even know what shes saying haha.. the choruses are nice though

sexy little things- the pv looks good but the song...not my type. i personally wouldnt have an interest in showing my friends any of it. although it is very catchy haha

Maybe because it really has a 1001 nights fairytale feel to it, after seeing the PV preview pictures i'm kinda puzzled, wonder how it's gonna work with the song.

For Don't look back: I think it's not necessarely a bad song, I just think that it's either people with LOVE it, or people will feel it's boring/not that impressive. I listened to it once so far and it feels boring to me. I LOOOOVE Microphone, but Dlb is really ordinary and not special at all to me right now. That being said though, I felt that way about some songs on the GUILTY album, and I ended up really loving them all after listening to them all together a few times.

For Microphone PV: What makes it WEIRD is that every scene is completely RANDOM. None of them are related to each other, it's totally just, random people doing random stuff one after another. It didn't make much sense at all to me, until I got to the end completely. Then I think it makes more sense because it's as if she's watching videos on her iPod touch or whatever other device that's similar to that one.

To me, Don't look back's PV-preview matches the song better than expected.
This PV doesn't seem like it's as much "all over the place" as Microphone's PV (Don't get me wrong, I do like Microphones PV).
Ayu looks very pretty in it!

at first, I was like ok... teensy bit boring and why is she so smiley over there (i mean, she's adorable but why all giddy smiling?)

It's just a German thing, it's difficult to explain, but last year Germany decided that German peolpe are no longer allowed to view Musicvideos on youtube so since then we can't watch PV's there anymore.
